  1. There was no live commentary, there were up-dates as the goals poured in, as best I can remember. It was an 11am KO, quite common then at Christmas/New Year/Easter. And I'm pretty sure it was the only game played at that time of day but still no live commentary!!
  2. Apparently Rovers players were promised a pay rise if the results justified it at Christmas. But the Directors refused and the players revolted. There certainly was no spirit shown in that game and much of it was played in an eerie silence before 29000 fans, who were collectively wondering WTF was going on. Pickering sold not long after that and we never recovered. Not the first time the players and fans were sold down the river by a Board that was really better suited to running a corner shop.
  3. I was listening to the game on BBC radio. Jumping around the room every time another goal went in. Sure we would win the Championship after that!
  4. I agree about the kick-offs, Raya was improving on that front and sometimes was exceptional. I don't think Waltons clearances are anything to write home about.
  5. Leeds at Ewood first season in the Premier League. It snowed and we won! Dramatic scenes.
  6. I would start Graham, by the time he's tired the match could be won! Gallagher looked better at Bristol though imo.
  7. The vast majority of Championship games are very boring I find. Unless your own team is playing, they are not worth the bother. Just one cul-de-sac and back pass after another.
  8. Very clearly implied. No other possible interpretation. Unless you're trying to be mysterious....
  9. We are a man down when we play him, its that simple. He's not even League 1 standard. If we did decide to loan him who'd take him? League2?Conference?
  10. That doesn't actually say he signed for Rovers at 13 though, does it? I've no idea whether he did or not by the way!
  11. I thought he was absolute rubbish. Every time tried to run with the ball his legs got tangled up! Off the ball, he seemed always on the fringe of the action, looking on and wondering what to do. The way he moves is so ungainly, like a colt learning to run. There's a story here but I doubt we'll ever know. Sure he did a couple of good things in the game (who wouldn't?) but he was ineffective for the most part. We've signed some bad ones in the past, but this one, especially at £7M will take some beating. In terms of the fee paid, easily the worst signing we have ever made. Worse than Grabbi, worse than Davies, I'll stop there. And no-one WANTS to see him fail Eddie. Shameful of you.
  12. You see that every weekend in local football!
  13. Can't believe that comment from TM. That's what worries me about him. He is discounting the possibility of Lenihan not getting injured when he has a known injury record. He's recently come back from a fair lay-off and our record in defence at the time was dire. In a nutshell, comments like that remind me why I have no faith in him long-term.
  14. With the prospect of fist team football when Tosin leaves in the summer though?
  15. Over-thinking it again! Or getting his alibi in early in case we get nobody!
  16. Gosh we'll miss Samuel! Davenport still breathing?
  17. Preston and Wigan-----the two fixture that we nearly always mess up.
  18. Perhaps he means nativity?
  19. There's dilemma here---he would deserve it but he couldn't do it. And, to get near the play-offs, Tosin and Lenihan have to remain uninjured and free from suspension
  20. Very true. Easy to get carried away by the current run which could end any game. However, I have maintained for a long time that TM is not the man to take us forward, his faults would be magnified a hundred times. He could not compete with the level of management in the Premier League now. Even Dyche!
  21. If we were in the Premier league, just about the entire squad would have to be over-hauled if we were to survive and not be down by Christmas. The cost would be enormous but, of course, so would the revenue. My question is, would you trust TM to spend it well? I wouldn't. That's the brutal truth.
  22. and a manager who could find them. Transfers not TM's strong point imo.
  23. Eh?? I have never mentioned Rhodes in years! What are you about? My answer to that is not to play him! Loan him out and pray for a miracle is my solution.
