  1. Now that you can't deny what you wrote perhaps you could answer your own question--"why would you specifically say 6 years?" Secondly, since you are so aware of what happens to people when they get older, perhaps you could explain why I, an older man, can remember accurately what you wrote and you can't even remember your own post? Too much sherry?
  2. When Venkys took over our attendances averaged about 25000. something to build on there but look they did with it. Our attendances are a direct result of what they did. there was no historical inevitability about it, just rank incompetence (being kind and careful there).
  3. Burnley did it. Huddersfield did it. Their owners aren't as rich as ours. But what they lack in wealth they make up for in common sense and commitment.
  4. I do! I might be older than you but my memories better!
  5. We will never prosper under Venkys. Having put so much faith in Mowbray and extending his contract, I imagine they will be quite "confused". No rational decision-making to be expected I'm afraid.
  6. You wanted to give him 6 more years. I said that was ludicrous at the time (without the benefit of hindsight).
  7. Good job he didn't get the 6 years Big Dog was spruiking! A goal in the 90th minute should be a winner----for us! To concede 2 from there is soul-destroying and the manager has to take responsibility and the steps needed to ensure we don't have any more of this. Its been a feature of our games for far too long now that we throw away hard-won leads in the last few minutes. It's unacceptable. If the players aren't good enough---replace them. If that doesn't fix it we have to look at the manager. We can't go on like this,
  8. Too loyal to those players who took us up = too cautious for me. Has to be braver, its not as if the cautious approach is working anymore. We are losing points from winning positions. Above all we need width.
  9. And to you! I could do without the kiss though if its all the same to you!
  10. You'll be saying that when Brereton's playing non-league! Hindsight has already arrived if you care to look.
  11. And the we'll sign a manager who's cheap and useless and begin a new cycle of desperation and alienation. That'll be the road we take. I did think that we might harness the impetus of last season's promotion effort but, as always with Venkys, its quite withering away.
  12. I have not insulted you at all. Secondly, it doesn't matter how high or low his wages are relative to his transfer fee IF HE"S NO BLOODY GOOD!
  13. Biz, you keep pointing out that the 7M for Brereton won't be paid upfront but in instalments. WE ALL KNOW THAT! Virtually all transfers are on an instalments basis and have been for years. When a club makes a gigantic booboo like we have, we still have to pay it, its still 7M we could and should have spent better elsewhere. Don't keep defending the indefensible. You did the same with the match ticket surcharge till you came to your senses. It isn't being soft to hold your hand up and admit that it, at least, looks like the Club got this one wrong. After that its not ridiculous to start asking how this transfer came about. It doesn't bear the hallmark of a cautious Mowbray does it? Can't you at least admit that much? C'mn you're a big, loyal Rovers supporter with many good points to make, why waste your time and energy destroying your reputation with this one?
  14. I stopped Biz but you've done an awful lot of replying since! You're just too keen to defend TM and Brereton or you're too stubborn to back down! Or both!
  15. Well I'll leave it here----Ben does not seem to be making a success of his "wide attacking role" and, for that matter, neither does anyone else. Its about time the manager woke up before we drop further down the league.
  16. Is Ben really more "wide attacking" or are you just changing the facts to suit your support of this appalling decision to pay 7M for a player who seems to have very little going for him and ignore more pressing weaknesses in the team? I feel genuinely sorry for this lad, every time he comes on for his" cameo" the dread must rise deeper within him. We are ruining whatever he had. He will leave at some point for nothing with his career in tatters.
  17. Whichever way you look at it, this signing stinks.
