The tragedy of the Wharton deal is that only one Premier League club seemed interested. We didn't have an auction. What is wrong with their scouting system that only Palace were prepared to buy him at that price? They'll be scrambling all over themselves to pay double should he ever become available. Why did we accept such a low sum? Because Venkys were desperate, it provided funding for the running of the club for x months without which we would have gone into administration. There was no Plan B, we would have accepted anything remotely near his real value. This was never a football decision.

The whole squad isn't exceptional!! The only exceptional player we've had recently is Adam Wharton. We're a Championship team and Travis does a very reasonable job in it. If we got £3M for him where would it go? On somebody better? That's not our track record is it?

W're relying on Buckley? Really? And suppose Tronstad gets injured? Selling Travis is just another weakening of the team for no good reason.

If I were Travis and wanted to stay that's would I would do. I'd see my contract out and the ball would be in Rovers court. "Either offer me a new contract or I leave for nothing to a club of my choice".

Travis has started the season in great form. We're short of bodies. Absolutely no logical reason to sell him whatsoever. So what's the illogical reason?
