  1. Very true. Unless there’s a risk of injury, I don’t think I’d ‘chance’ it against Southampton (given there’s then no game for a week) I’d be more inclined to rest one or two against Huddersfield and/or Rotherham. I most certainly wouldn’t be playing any key players against Cambridge in the cup.
  2. Started as a ‘posh boys’ thing… Linguistically creative students at the University of Oxford in the 1880s distinguished between the sports of “rugger” (rugby football) and “assoccer” (association football). The latter term was further shortened to “soccer” (sometimes spelled “socker”), and the name quickly spread beyond the campus. However, “soccer” never became much more than a nickname in Great Britain
  3. Wouldn’t that result in a load of untried teenagers having to play? I think hoping for the best might be somewhat of an understatement.
  4. I wonder if his dad would give him some advice on negotiating with our CEO. I imagine it would be along the lines of… ’Don’t believe a word that shyster says to you’
  5. Perhaps they found it exciting.
  6. Or until Pep tries something new.
  7. As many extenuating circumstances as there are, no manager is ever entirely blameless for ‘on the pitch’ matters.
  8. At least Ennis isn’t injured yet.
  9. ‘Isn’t aware’ 🤔
  10. Absolute madness… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67688071
  11. I’m sure there’s no connection between these two points. 🙄
  12. Nah, he’d want the publicity.
  13. My money is on it being Sammie.
