  1. Yep another flash in the pan that will probably struggle to cover the cost of implementing it and paying wages for those doing it. It's naff all to do with the football side of things and just another fad that keeps the commercial dept in wages and it will contribute nothing to the playing side of things.
  2. What kind do wages do Malmo pay ? Surely coming here from there represents a pay rise for most so money shouldn't be an issue as long as there is no Sheff U or Boro in for him.
  3. You can't. The only conclusion is you weren't much of a true blue in the first place. Had similar arguments with 'life long Rovers' iv'e known who bailed to become diehard Chorley fans for a while. Pathetic in my book but each to their own.
  4. Watched him for Chorley v Bolton last weekend and it's absolutely the latter.
  5. Totally agree but if it was only about buy low sell high he'd have been shunted out regardless. Hindsight and experience also tells us it's just as costly not investing at key times as it is not making hay whilst the sun shines.
  6. I know, when i was typing that out i was looking back and thinking why didn't they continue down that path. Soon as they sold cairney the writing was on the wall.
  7. They actually got it going under Bowyer if we consider Rudy - a million maybe with inc ons and sold for 6. Duffy - similar and sold for 3.5 ish Hanley - cost no fee and sold for similar to Duffy Cairney - a millionish and sold for 3 mill Even Marshall i think brought a fee double for what was paid. Problem there is it was a fire sale over a period of time to obviously recoup running costs and there was no re-investment. Then they went bigger fees but will end up only with lower or similar profit margins and as before likely no re-investment. Remember it took relegation last time to get that ball rolling again.
  8. Factor in though he cost half that and is now twice the player he was, that's how this crazy business works now.
  9. Yet Rothwell cost next to nothing and could have gone for 3+ million representing proper Brentford style trading. Truth is there is no plan from Venkys they just operate on whims.
  10. Yes he's a miles better all round player his first touch and movement carrying the ball is Prem class at times. Arma is just your old school head down run and shoot type who is sadly about 20 years too late to be a Prem hit.
  11. Two 60 min games it's all about fitness today and getting mins on the pitch into the legs. So it might tell us about workrate and press but not much about anything else.
  12. It's all about the replacement, all he needs to be is competent but what he's likely to be is JRC !
  13. Exactly this but as usual nobody is accountable and these plonkers continue to collect their over inflated wages whilst someone else tries to clear up the mess.
  14. I genuinely think that is the gamble they are going to take though.
  15. Forget about Mowbray and the waffle, 3 decent signings whether loan or not and a few more promoted will show mid table in this league isn't the rocket science his fanboys liked to believe. Fine margins though, no decent signings and only using our own will have those same fanboys calling for ol'Tone and throwing the usual abuse blaming fans for his departure. Mid table would be a blessing once the knocks and niggles kick in. The recruitment dept needs to be recruiting.
  16. Like the manager situation he'll again tell us who we were interested in and interviewed. Push him on that and he'll have no answer and then get a bit defensive then the snowflakes pop up with the usual excuses. Round and round we go, meanwhile a couple of young loans that no one knows will be being lined up quietly.
  17. Also didn't seem robust enough for the championship and easily frustrated. Beggars can't be choosers though he was better than Paul Caddis or playing a midfielder there. Sadly i think we'll see JRC in rwb again.
  18. So it really does look like Mowbray and Venus have been doing a good job of getting our players ready for the bright lights of Smogland. Agent Tony the humble honest ( you'll get bigger wages at boro lads) nice guy.
  19. We'll also have a bank overdraft and in the past external loans have at times been used, so yes we will owe. Just not enough to be in the mire.
  20. Or the advisor has told Gregg Broughton to draw up another one within lower wage range targets.
  21. This i feel is what they've signed up for and that's why having got their names on 2 or 3 year contracts there'll be no toys out the pram if we do nothing in this window. It's a risky strategy by the club/ownership/middlemen or whoever really runs it but its always been on the cards. Last season gave them a green light to go a step further but they obviously realized old Tone didn't have the stomach for it.
  22. I agree i think JDT knows the task hes taken on and he'll only become aware of Vs way of working as we go along. He has a DoF to work with so most of those issues will be GB's to deal with. Usually though when a new manager comes in he gets at least one of the players he wants to bring in. Like a gesture of goodwill so lets hope he has his eye on a good striker somewhere as his marquee signing. 99% likely to be a loan obviously.
  23. It's quite a convenient excuse to throw about though. Park knew who was leaving and what positions in the squad require filling, he also knows the domestic market better than JDT's team i assume. So to rip up his entire list might be a bit of a pointless thing to do, he'd also brought a certain type of scout in which was signed off by GB. RIP to one of them by the way.
