  1. But if someone can kid our owners that they might the lad might be put on 25k pwk for the next 4 years !
  2. Probably is when they've somewhat cornered their market and virtually control it on several fronts. That's why they think they are always right and paying 15 million a year to cover mistakes will solve everything.
  3. There's going to be several clubs linked with Brereton now he's at the nearing a new contract stage. The good old 'flex' that waggot and a few on here championed in terms of BB, big fee small wages. Will be well and truly put to the test now because he'll be wanting a substancial payrise probably. I'm not one of those who bought into him only being on a few grand a week i'd wager it was double figures or as near as damn it. So Rovers will be having kittens now other renewing it. Hes improved but he ain't worth a big hike in pay no way but at the same time if he leaves they wave bye bye to all that stupid fee they paid. Maybe the best scenario would be someone stumping up a few million for him now.
  4. That's how i see it as he had a free run last season without the crowd. I'd like to think having fans in would've helped against the bad run, it would also have put a rocket up them if we were witnessing that in person. He'll not last long if the crowd turns although it's not something i'd like to see. Certainly not if it started dragging on whilst he waited to be sacked for a pay off as they don't seem to work that way. Several thousand miles away is a very handy void when the flak starts. I hope he realizes that.
  5. He had a nibble at him last season and clearly got the manager rattled. Wouldn't be surprised if there was an off the record strop by the club.
  6. Yep, most of this seasons deadwood clearance will have been forced on him. I'm sure he can be ruthless when it comes to keeping his job though.
  7. What happened to the vibrant young team playing on the front foot he was building a couple of summers ago ? This guy just says the first thing that suits the moment when there's an interviewer in front of him. Of course the expectation will be less, it won't be less on the 12 million boys nor any other good player we have. Nor should it be ! As for him anybody expecting him to deliver anything above 11th ever needs to lower them.
  8. Nail on head He'd need 60 million just to break the 10th place ceiling and he's already conceeded he'd need 100 million to get anywhere near the top spots.
  9. If anything it just goes to show we could end up existing just to a serve a purpose for other clubs loanees. Nice when they do alright for us for a brief spell but it's no way to try and build a club up. These lads should be the icing on the cake or final jigsaw pieces to a top 6 squad. Yet we are in danger of them being our lifelines for a lower midtable finish.
  10. Working with Konpany in Belgium or Mowbray in the Championship is a no brainer for THB. Can't blame him for that he'd only ever have ended up back here if there were no other decent suitors. Just one of those things, not unexpected and i don't think it's really a reflection on Rovers too much.
  11. Kean, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer, Lambert, Coyle, Mowbray Really is Roy Keane any worse than any of those ? He might be no better than a couple of them but that's our market. Like i said earlier i think at various points in the last 10 years he'd have been a good shout. Right now though probably not as there could be another Ipswich scenario about to unfold here. Give a guy like him a decent squad though and a little bit of room for maneuver like Mowbray has had the last 3 seasons and he might surprise a few. Being a venky/pasha/agent yes man though would always be a sticking point. I'd love to be a fly on the wall though.
  12. Drunk or sober it ain't complicated but it rarely happens at Rovers.
  13. No i said selling a player for big money and re-investing it in replacements who do the business themselves then get sold for big money. Trading up as opposed to using external money. The 1995 team did mostly get sold off for bigger money than paid for them but it was Jacks cash influx that bought them. Then Hodgson and Kidd pissed thast money away.
  14. What are these assurances though that the FFP people were asking for, besides the accounts ? There must be something else concerning them somewhere. And just like last time they'll be more privvy to what's actually in the accounts than anything in public. Has there been some more external borrowing during lockdown to cover outgoings ? Are players or someone else owed money ? Was the attempt at flogging half the training ground to cover this ?
  15. It never seems to work out for us this building up the team from big transfers out business. When you look back at the likes of Dingles they bought some bricklayer from somewhere for peanuts. He banged them in then they sold him and traded up a bit and got another who banged them in. Sold him then traded up again, all the while using the money properly. Never seems to happen here as i'm as convinced as i can be if Dack had gone that would just have covered the money already shelled out. We'll never know now though,
  16. Whether it was lined up or not or whether it was West Brom or not it was pretty obvious certain people at the club were planning for life without him. Also Mowbray did in an interview allude to signing Brereton possibly in prep for losing Dack. I agree though actual bids big enough for it to happen might not have materialized. I do think though hats were being hung on it happening.
  17. It just backs up what a few of us have said for a few seasons now. Mowbrays rotation policy follows little tactical direction and is heavily based on doing it just for the sake of it. Keeping as many involved and happy as possible and hiding behind the development tagline. Also his signings policy of getting in people he knows or whose people he knows just to fill gaps rather than actual horses for courses. It's no wonder we are going backwards after he kept us still for a couple of seasons.
  18. I agree in this instance it might not all be down to Mowbray. I find it odd that he'd treat a player from his old mates who he'd made such a fuss of that way. We've seen how he operates and if he likes them and it were up to him certain ones would probably have lifetime contracts here. Pure speculation obviously but looks to me like its been forced on them out the blue after they'd wanted him back. In the end it's another total waste of money by the pillocks in charge as they've ended up giving him some sort of deal then not using him. Complete wasted wages yet again. It's all a balls up though because the manager should just have shook his hand after his 1 season indian summer here and let him find something else.
  19. Every now and then clubs need a jump start and a kick up the jacksy so i'd have jumped at him with the squads we've had the last 2 seasons. Not so sure now though with the emphasis going to be soley on youth it seems.
  20. They've finally seen through it but this is what happens when a manager is allowed to stay beyond his ceiling. Not unusual and there's no shame in it TM is what he is and does what he does but the danger here is the club has become the manager. That's down to the void between ownership and club and their stupid way of doing things. Plus the nice little niche its allowed them to create inside the club. Unfortunately here at Rovers the fans and team and shrinking club have to pay the price for generous stupidity. The ownership signs the cheques then ignores and the rest in the middle carry on and draw their money. We'll end up like Sunderland.
  21. Only because Dack got injured when the West Brom move was in the pipeline. His fee was invested upfront Mowbray all but admitted as much in one interview floating about back then.
  22. I said a while back we could do worse than give him a try as manager. Mowbray is lost deep deep within his own mind somewhere.
  23. 'Blackburn only care what Blackburn fans think not North Ends' Couldn't be further from the truth on that one. Trouble is they moan but so many of theirs treat this as a one off cup final and many probably only attend this away game. So they'll keep paying it, especially if they are doing ok. Every away fan and non ST holder should boycott this it's the only way anybody will ever take any notice.
  24. Squeezing what you have until it pops to cover income for the ones dropping away. Great strategy, you can see why he was at Charlton and Coventry when they were in full on regression.
