January Transfer window 2022

If Duffy wasn't such a ballbag he might be a top player but like a lot of others he's not wired up right. Just for clarity i was poring compliments on Ayala 😀 The guy has that bit of class about him at this level you don't often see. Duffy and Dann ? Pair of self serving tossers only showed us anything when they'd got fit and knew moves were on the horizon ! -

Real difference in pedigree there and Ayala is the finished article, still couldn't hack it in top flight like the other 2 though. Very good signing but he's only done what it said on the tin at the end of the day. When you sign a decent player on a good contract that's what you should get. Now if he'd applied that theory to a few more and used some big funds better we might have a couple more quality experienced players in the ranks. That would certainly help these kids out. -
Another feisty but entertaining game and what Rovers lack in quality compared to these big sides they make up in graft. Didn't deserve to lose in the end but if you don't take your chances. Quite impressed with Pears barking instructions and 3 real good saves although imo might have done better for 1 or 2 of theirs but they were well executed. Ref was a plonker as was a few of their play acting players.

Just laziness at Ewood and of course penny pinching at ground level that's why the blame the crowds. Yet it's ok to waste money further up the chain because they think the title Football Operations justifies it.

Transferring ownership of the training ground in return for an injection of funds to keep us in business is the stuff of desperation. I simply cannot believe some are actually even thinking this sets us up for being able to spend again. Even if so how much do you really think will be available to invest in the team after even more losses are plugged ? Ditch the mellow birds and sniff something stronger lads.

Whilst i'm not as down on Gallagher as you and some others you are quite correct in the first paragraph. I do feel though that used correctly he can make a good contribution but the money should have been used wiser.

When you say the 'Rovers' you surely mean JA, SEM, Kentaro, Cresendo and Kean.

There should be no bonus at all for a manager who has overseen a relegation unless it's a promotion one. There should really only be a pay off.

A club needs a solid settled structure above the manager that allows for change but we don't have that here. Everything seems to revolve around Mowbray even Samba was crediting him which sounded like he'd given the ok to bring him in. That's for the youth team by the way. That's why i think all this talk of change is futile unless he's stepping sideways. He won't get sacked death spirals or not, 0-7/8/9 or not. The odds are firmly stacked on him being here for the early kick off next season. Can only hope that sense prevails and any contract extension is a rolling one, which as i understand is akin to a 2 yr deal anyway. So they'll never pay him off whatever happens. Mr Mowbray might not hold the Venky purse strings but he basically runs the whole football side of the club. -
I never saw Beamo play but remember the chant well in fact it went on into the early 2000's. Terrace humour, whatever happened to it.

No doubt he scapegoated a few times in the past and also liked to give Bennett a game there occasionally. just to keep him happy. I can also see though why TM gets frustrated with Nyambie but the simple logical thing to do though would have been to get another proper right back on the books a while ago.
-
I don't think they'll do that certainly not in the near future although it could end up forced on them one day if they keep cocking up FFP. As a side note to it they have removed the STC from the clubs books recently so they now own that themselves.

It was actually a really good game to watch in terms of effort and it could have gone either way at times. Typical cold November championship game but i much prefer this stuff to the tip tappy sideways crap he wasted 2 years trying to install. A very lucky manager to be working for such clueless people but this season Fulham aside he's making a decent fist of it. The team defended the box like tigers and that is what will see us through this season if they can keep it up.

There are bad eggs, corruption and greed in all walks of life.

I've been a big supporter of Nyambie but hes been poor a bit too often recently. I just wish they'd concentrate on making him into a proper right back this wing back nonsense just doesn't work. How many times does he or has he got forward properly and made it count ? Hardly ever he just gets caught forward all the time when he should really be concentrating on his positioning. It's similar now with Edun at the other side although he's good going forward. Time and again though we put ourselves under needless pressure with them being caught out. I'll maintain Ryan can be a really good right back at this level but wing back he really ain't, not good enough.

I think it's something to do with being happy to sit the middle of a division whilst losing 15 million a year, or at least that's the modern version of it.

Good point that a good fighting spirit again second half, could have gone either way at the end. A fair draw but i thought we were comfortable early on then for some reason decided to retreat 10 yards. Inevitable pressure and inevitable conceding so ended up lucky going in only 1 down. Surely that must come from the sidelines ? Either way managed to redeem themselves second half but continue to shoot ourselves needlessly in the foot too often. Clarkson showed again today he should be sent back imo, the odd good ball in each half isn't enough sadly. Bringing on Ayala and changing was the right thing to do though after conceding as they were all over the shop. Rothwell made a nice difference to when he came on, typical championship fare today and we toughed it out.

I agree i don't think he's the right man for that job they'll be on his back in no time, you know those great Newcastle fans compared to the shitty Rovers ones 🙄 He'd be perfect for what they allege they want to do at Ewood but he'd never touch this job whilst he can still flog himself in the Prem. His methods seem better suited to building up smaller clubs who have a decent budget and genuine ambition.

He talks that much waffle at times these days that when he does speak with some clarity it's hailed. Surely he should be talking clear common sense at all times ? Listened to Eddie Howe yesterday talking about how he's about to approach things at the Newcastle madhouse. Never fail to be impressed by him when he speaks, clear lines in the sand, clear intentions and firm delivery. Not comparing him directly to TM they are different eras but you'd never get the likes of Howe shrugging their shoulders. It's either yes we are doing it this way or we aren't and if it doesn't work i'll hold my hands up and fall on the sword. Mind you maybe in a decades time he'll sound altogether different.
-
I remember some of them being at the FA cup semi in Cardiff v Arsenal. Looked like they were happy enough to be there then. At some point not that long after though it seems they weren't happy to be involved anymore. Who was actually in charge though, the Trust chair or the family ? Surely they'd have had to vote on these type of things. Also who was advising, maybe they weren't the only ones taking bad advice. In fact i think that is what was alleged when the lawsuits started flying a few years later !

Moyes and his brother sniffing around again to get the auction started. Face it we are in for a repeat of the previous fire sale era it was always on the cards. Difference this time is the training ground will have gone off the books as well. All this will be followed by Mowbrays contract extension and his cheapo rebuild with bags of sympathy - mostly from himself. -
I think Flybe was just part of the Trust and run by the Chairman of that Trust basically. The lad you mention was further down the pecking order probably. In the end it seemed they were all squabbling amongst themselves and the hand that fed them.

We'd need about 25k evey week to service the finances the way the club is run. People chucking out the crowd insults are in cuckoo land i'm afraid.
