  1. Would not be in the least bit surprised if this fella is here till 2025. His feet are so firmly under the V table he's taken his slippers off and taken root. God knows where the club will be by then but one million % it won't be the Prem.....or the top 6 Championship.
  2. What about the third finger of the Coventrio ? Isn't he the man who sticks his oar into contract talks/signings ? You know the one, the would be house builder.
  3. If they are considering selling Rothwell to use the money top try and keep Armstrong, then i don't know on what planet they'd be able to prise Barnsleys best player away. We probably 'enquired' about him though.....
  4. Just reading that statement shows what's missing here even if he doesn't resign for them. It's bold direct and honest and basically saying why move sideways when you've got everything you want here. No sob stories, no encouraging bids, no white flags - there's an offer on the table as long as he wants it - if he doesn't get a better one elsewhere type stuff.
  5. To be honest if we get a water carrier who's capable of starting every game and breaking up opposition attacks i'll take it. Industrious is the word i'm looking for 😂
  6. I'd take him, why not there's probably as many games in him in a season as Evans & Holtby combined. It would be a positive first step imo.
  7. As last season showed and the BB signing and the Gallagher signing it's impossible to get optimistic even if we have a good window. That's why this early summer is gloomier than even previous ones, we know what's coming when the gaffer gets to work. He's still living off signing AA & Dack and lge 1 promotion years ago. Lets be honest, yes he's blooded some youngsters but he's done jack all in this division with most of those he's signed. Not sure why it's wrong to expect anything any different this time around.
  8. What's going on with Armstrong is just called drumming up interest, it's an age old tactic. The aim is probably to flush West Ham out into finally making a bid then we've a real idea what he's worth.
  9. A Blackburner who knows some council bods and a mate with some waste land for sale ?
  10. Nail on head it provides that infracstructure and security for a very last resort, that's why it shouldn't be touched. Even if they mothballed some of it. Too many are only too happy to sail along with Venkys writing the cheques without a thought to the future. It's all too easy, stale and comfortable for people down there and a lot of fans. Taken for granted is the better description but it will not last forever. That's why the backing they give and have given needs every last drop squeezing out of it. Every penny needs investing wisely and EVERY asset protecting. This management regime did that for about 18 months then have been floundering around wasting a lot of it since then. That's obviously going to continue for now but one day they'll be gone and one day no cheques might be being signed. That's when you need something to fall back on.
  11. Not really much point even talking about players like this it just gives weight to the 'we enquired' about him farce. Now if he'd played 20 games in the last 2 seasons and was made of glass it'd be a goer. That seems a market we can compete in.
  12. Cost cutting, sales, FFP, relegation. League 1, invest 2 million, promotion, Mogga Messiah, 150 year celebrations, Venky's turn up, Tony signs for life. The journey........... ( Maybe they can open the new state of the art training cabin near the M65 whilst they are over)
  13. Absolutely no need for moving it whatsoever other than middlemen spotting a few quid. Using the assumption a cheap block of land can be found easily within the borough of BBwD. Then playing on the rocketing value of Brockhall land and telling the owners the profit will pay for everything and put a few quid into the club. Chancing of the highest order by a few suits and i said this would happen once the other scheme fell through. Wheels slowly being put in motion to sell the whole lot and totally relocate. Also from Vs point of view it stealthily removes another of Jacks main legacies, very much Venky Rovers then. Mowbray will be back soon saying what a good idea it is moving within the historic Blackburn boundaries. And how cutting travelling time from training ground to Ewood will improve development of players. This will never go away whilst Coventrio remain.
  14. Their targets were within an area to get at to be fair. Major problem with any war on our lot has been there's nothing to get at. Hitting them in their own back yard has proved nigh on impossible. We've never even had a local board of directors to target.
  15. Probably one of the clowns who runs several accounts on the LT and is pro everything the manager & club do and say.
  16. When Saxton had gone as far as he could he was replaced because everything had gone stale. All done without bankrupting the club and the new manager bounce proved to be very good indeed. Now if Bob had got a Geordie mate through the door, to do Bill Foxs job ! We'd have been stuck with them and probably gone down whilst they covered each others backs. We are long past that point again now even with money for big signings and wages for experience & luxury loans we don't go anywhere. A new shot in the arm is needed for club and fans and the players need a kick up the arse.
  17. That's what i'm getting at really, the doom scenario chucked about in their defense is just as likely to happen anyway with them here. We've already had 1 season in league 1 for the first time in about 40 yrs under their stewardship. Land sales which blight other struggling clubs have been tried to be put in motion here. A 15th place finish with the strongest championship squad could very well turn into worse next year with a weaker one. The recipe for failure is already in the mixer and it's still costing 15 mill a year. Aside from their money propping up their mess would we really be a such worse club without them ?
  18. Who challenged Waggot when he made the comments on the manager ? Anybody ask in what context it was or just accept the 'yeah we've spoken about it briefly and they didn't ask for him to be removed' type answer. Therefore other than taking his word for it how do we know it's even been mentioned ? He's the manages pal he's there to shield him so he isn't go to say anything to them unless prompted. So he leaves it to them, they leave advice and what to do to him and the net result is fook all. Now a proper set up would surely be recommending the owners gave serious consideration to change. That's not happening here so we just get fobbed off and say thank you very much.
  19. Even if there was any money to spend they'll only spend it on a player who has Mowbray or the right agent connections. So if no dots join it can be totally ignored however decent he may or may not be. Freebies and loans are a different matter though.
  20. Got to look at it like this we are backed by billionaires who've been pouring in 10/15 million per season recently. They've allowed this management to spend 12 million on 2 players and build up and squad and infrastructure that is stretching the wage bill again to breaking point and needs that funding. All for what exactly ? To maintain lower midtable championship yet they STILL have to look at selling half the training ground. The ground last time i was down there looked dirty and unkempt compared to a walk around Boltons stadium last Saturday. Bolton who've been to hell and back and don't have a pot to piss in. And this management regime after 4 years STILL don't know which way to go. Or which other clubs so called blueprint to follow. They change tack every year just to suite and deflect attention probably. So yes it needs a proper reset otherwise events from 5 years ago will repeat themselves. The cycle following that probably won't. It's about time they finally decided what they really want to do with the club once and for all.
  21. I agree with this they'll never ever change no matter what and i really would not bet against those clubs passing us in the next few years. There is only one of two ways to have a real reset at Rovers. 1 - They clear the decks and once and for all appoint a proper independent experienced CEO. With a plan and a reasonable budget. Similar to recent years that this lot have wasted. They allow that CEO to get in results driven staff. 2 - They finally do one, write off the debt, hold their hands up and say enough is enough. Leave the club in reasonable enough shape for someone else to have a go. That would probably mean a similar path to the other clubs mentioned but it is a pill plenty would swallow. If we are to be a leaner meaner middle of the road lower league outfit i'd rather it be along those lines. Become a proper club again instead of having overseas billionaires and their Blackburn based sycophants sneering at us for being ungrateful. And not turning out en masse to worship a self serving little clique happy to draw their money whilst going nowhere. Number 1 is very very unlikely to happen as it never has, after ten years they still don't know the obvious. So they never will.
  22. I'm clinging to the hope we add something resembling decent to what is still a good young squad. A pun in regards to the alleged Facebookers creaming themselves, no Nivea involved.
  23. I know exactly what you're saying and agree mostly but to be honest i hope they are creaming themselves. It will at least mean we are getting some points on the board because we'll surely need them asap. The only thing that kept a cushion between us and the bottom spots this season was that early run. The facecreamers don't seem capable of seeing it that way. To them we were great then covid/injuries/pitch kicked in and derailed us. Just a bad spell mid season then we got back to being great again. Beyond help a lot of the ToMo fanboys maybe the younger ones just can't see it as it really is. The others flat blank refuse to because he's a nice man who saved us from being Bolton...apparently. We just need a good start because as we know there'll be some sort of death spiral before long. Resulting in one or no wins in 10 or similar, that goes with the turf with Mowbray. If we are in the bottom 2 after 10 games that'll set the bar for the entire season under this wet drip. Still won't get sacked or walk the only way he'll depart is if the inevitable stick gets too him. No way is he as teflon coated as the rat or as carefree a buffoon as Coyle.
