Nobody think it's a coincidence the training ground was valued right about the same as the Armstrong transfer ? -

Hes wanted to come back ever since he left i think but he'd find a very different set up now i'd hope. Bit of a maverick and an ale can allegedly so not really a Mowbray kind of guy if true. Other side of the coin he seemed a handy player and there's nothing wrong with the odd character or two. -
I have a few assumptions on that but someone who posts a lot about finance elsewhere and who iv'e butted heads with offered an alternate view. Based on the opinion it was just an accounting move to cover extra money already put in during the pandemic season. Basically giving Venkys some personal security for the extra money which might have been personal rather than the usual VH group company mula. So there was no one off 16 million quid injection from the sale, rather just money already drip fed in and swallowed up. Covers other bases as well seeing as they could now do what they want with that when they start the now inevitable training ground/academy merry go round. It does seem more like an external loan seeing as they'll be allegedly charging for it annually via a lease fee or something. Like i always say to jbizz though there is no proof either way in regards to Rovers wage bill as unless we see a breakdown of accounts in detail nobody knows. It appears all the banking is done in India so all Rovers money flows in and out of an account over there. Nobody sees what goes where everything in public is just paper number crunching to square things off and keep it all legal and above board. Corporate accounting has more layers than the earths crust and in most cases with huge successful corporations it's made to work how they want it to. I find it hilarious that a lot seem to think Venkys finance people and the head honcho just ignore the club then send a direct debit over every month out of pure generosity ...or guilt.

The football operating budget and wage bill versus the overall wage bill. The are grey areas imo and i'll never budge off that other than to say a certain level of operational losses seems to suit the parent company.
-
So called Awful owners just shoved in another 8 million share conversion to under pin the club. I know all the expenses of football but can never get my head around just where it ALL goes at this club.

I think it's fairly obvious the clean sweep was out of his hands but to give him credit he's making the best of it so far. I know there are more elements to the equation but iv'e been moaning for years we'd never move forwards or change play to up the tempo until the midfield was totally revamped. Well it has been and it's made a massive difference, i never want to see an Evans or Trybull type here again. -
A CEO in situ for 4 years on an impressive salary comparative to the clubs income shouldn't really be getting a C- minus. Certain things tie his hands obviously and covid has thrown a spanner in for most clubs but others have managed it and not many are backed by billionaires. Effort is everything and just squeezing what you have till it pops and throwing your hands up in the air at most other things doesn't cut it. He's often quick to put over his version of evidence of why things 'don't' work but how about focusing on things that do ?

I was wondering what a Cruyff might be called now although we rarely see one i suppose. Teams are too busy with transitions and recycles etc 🤭
-
If it's new terminology for new things then fair enough but when a lot of it is putting a new slant on the same old things ? Then it's just rebranding and repackaging or to coin another phrase 'sexing up' the commentary. A wonder what they call a 'reducer' these days 😂

So Walton is now on loan at barrow ? That says a hell of a lot whoever scouted him for here should be struck off.

People who disappear down the rabbit hole of every situation is positive if you choose to look at it positively are dangerous in football. They also tend to be called Owne Coyle. -

Well i'm snookered if i can't get what i need from the app as having had covid in late Sept it's likely i'll still test positive. It's going to be an interesting day. -
Yes i suppose the generations coming through just get used to it. When though you have 50 odd year old managers having to adjust because they feel they have to there'll be complications and added pressure. It'll take time to filter through the game technology has moved on at such a pace over the last decade. With football now becoming increasingly based around that i'm not sure it can move at the same pace to keep up. How it affects the game as a whole outside the Prem remains to be seen as it is adding to the cost base of running clubs all the time.
-
And we wonder why some managers over complicate things and get themselves and their teams in such a muddle. Players are going to need A levels in a bit just to understand all the jargon before they've kicked a ball.

Not sure it'll be that much different on Saturday as the week before Christmas is traditionally lower anyway. Might get quite a few STs missing but they're counted anyway and maybe a few extra coming with the current renewed optimism might balance it out. End of the day we are always up against it now with only just over 7k season ticket holders ( well done men in suits !). It means we need 3k plus walk ons in home sections every game just to make it remotely respectable. As far as i can see this time most people are just carrying on regardless, masked or unmasked. The way it should be imo and those who prefer to play it safe will do and that's fair enough. -

That's not strictly true is it otherwise they wouldn't be extending Gallaghers contract and everyone would be asking for that. Just another set of excuses to make, are we really assuming that someone on 4 or 5k pwk is now asking for 15/20k and they'll all demand the same ? I very much doubt it works like that at all. -

Getting players like some of the ones who some fans are happy to let go and replacing them for next to nothing really isn't the cake walk it's being portrayed as. Especially seeing as we are likely to be offering low wages and what kind of message does it send potential signings when it looks like we'll just let them go in a few years instead of rewarding their progress ? It's a poor situation to be in and whilst some players and their agents might not be being realistic to have so many contracts running out at once is a clusterfluck by the club. Doesn't matter how it's dressed up it is and it would be looked at the same whoever was owning and running the show. Look how long it has taken these lads to develop ? Just when they and the team might be about to peak everybody just starts looking at £ signs ! Having to replace 4 key members of the squad at once without much money or wages will set this team back 2 years again. -
Yeah there's nothing wrong with the social media aspect that's the way of the world now. Hell boxers exist as the king of that, making money and keeping a profile whilst hardly fighting. It has it's drawbacks but as an affordable advertising tool and reaching out to fans it is second to non. They are doing the right thing there although the lack of replying back to fans like they used to lets it down. As does that shocking website so again it's a bit of a one step forward two back. For a community club who so called wants to re engage on all levels it needs looking at.

To be fair from where sit the BBE end has sounded livelier this season than for a long time not just the Sheff U and PNE fixtures which obviously stand alone. Agree on the DE though. -

I don't think he cares mate to be honest he can't be that stupid hes been around Blackburn he'll know the area is a low wage, high breadline rate borough. He has though never made secret of the fact his business policies revolve around squeezing what you have until it runs dry. That's how he operates and that's why he was at clubs on the slide like Charlton and Coventry. He's a downgrader i'd like to see evidence of anything hes been in charge of building up. Now take that into account and look at the year on year price hikes, cutting of operational staff, shabby ground and pitch, year on year loss of thousands of regular fans. Factor in a load of players not being happy with what they are being offered as well and the potential again of selling anyone who's worth anything IF he gets the nod from India. Then there's the plans to squash the training ground and academy together and a few other 'projects'. That is the guys mantra as well as making space for his own mammoth wages. Despite any sweet talking he's doing he is at the end of the day just a suit with no connection to Rovers other than earn what he can whilst he can. -

Waggot will be on the phone to Wigan advising category A+ as he thinks we might take more than 1500

The flow tests that probably don't detect the variant. You couldn't make it up, especially the new bit about now needing TWO pfizer doses to be safe from Omicron. Just in time for recommended doses 3 and 4 in the UK. Just wait till the Kean Variant kicks in, no doses will remove that !
