  1. Cole and Rhodes - 8 million a piece i think. It was more in the Cicco Grabbi 6.75 million range i think, which was worrying at the time. Big credit to the lad for turning it around ( especially for someone so undone by mythical abuse ). Maybe big Ben was actually just a little bit peeved at himself knowing be could do better than he was showing. Now he is and he looks very happy as are the fans because we finally have a c7 million quid player.
  2. Its kind of proved my point that BB was rated higher value wise and it wasn't surprising fans were disappointed with what they saw. Not that it matters now.
  3. Not really, i think he cost Liverpool considerably less initially although i'll stand corrected.
  4. How old was Harvey Elliot ? To expect a bit more from a 19 year old with about 30 championship appearances, that prompted a club to agree a 7 million pound deal isn't unreasonable in the slightest. To expect him to be consistently great is but then nobody did really did they history is just being rewritten now to suit.
  5. Having a bit of quality or even just a proper winger to bring on today down that right hand side could have a made the difference.
  6. Stroud - Typical jumped up ex Prem ref wanting to 'run' the game rather than referee it. How many times do we have to be on the wrong end of these idiots. That wasn't incompetence which is often the case. It was just downright ignorance and arrogance. Had the Rovers players incensed and having a go, had the crowd having a go, just decided to reply with his own petulance ! As for the game it was always going to be a tough one but we kept them down to very few chances even though we couldn't really create owt. Think they were more than happy to protect the point they started with if truth be told. We though do need to be able to shake things up with better use of substitutions. Like the last game the old TM is bubbling away not far under the surface he needs to be far more creative than repeating the same things. Good crowd again all things considered, anyone saying otherwise is a bit of a clown imo.
  7. Best thing for Clarkson would be back to Liverpool then they can sort him out another few months elsewhere. If we fall away badly though he'll get games here when the rotating starts again.
  8. Where are the league 1 winners now ? They seemed more happy to have beaten Rovers to it than actually winning it.
  9. Can see them bringing 3k plus but i think five thousand plus might be a bit of a stretch. You never know though and it's great to see both our clubs up there scrapping for top six points. Who would have predicted that of Rovers and Huddersfield in August.
  10. Mowbray has to take his share of credit for this season and the turnaround but there's also nothing saying a new manager wouldn't have this squad in a similar position. This is a good lively hungry group of players i think they pretty much motivate themselves. Tony hasn't turned into Pep overnight but he's got things to click, hard work starts now though trying to keep up the pace and resist going back to tinkering way too much.
  11. No issue with them retaining Gally longer term the world of football is crazy especially in the Championship. One good season and some would come sniffing but it would look a damn sight better if they got one or two of the others tied down pronto as well.
  12. Bottom tier or half of it c2400 ?
  13. Gallagher might well have had something written into his contract for early renegotiation. Or maybe his advisors are just easier to deal with and more grateful this player has a contract offer on the table. As for the transfer window it would be nice if a statement was sent out that we are serious about being contenders. Not just happy to make up the numbers and exist just to produce players to sell. This is when you look for final bits of the jigsaw, although i agree with a few others that we don't want to be upsetting the balance. Its taken years to finally find one.
  14. Rothwell first on the Rovers calender followed by Nyambie for Feb. Used to be good fodder for a bit of conspiracy 🙂
  15. Yawn....yet again it needs pointing out at least 6 thousand fans bought tickets to this game. That really isn't poor, 9k v fulham is, 14k plus v barnsley isn't. Are you another who doesn't quite 'get' Rovers ?
  16. But if you keep putting them up again it can end up being counter productive. All well and good saying we are doing well so more are now coming regardless of price but it still isn't the numbers it could be. Also it wasn't the case a month or two ago and wouldn't be the case if we hit a rough patch again. That's the whole point of the pricing debate, we want regulars back not fair weather form driven we'll pay anything fans. The latter need turning into the former and 30 quid plus tickets won't do that.
  17. Wouldn't be surprised if the ticket prices had something to do with that and the live tv. It's the perils of a limited fanbase again that's the main factor imo, an element will still pick and choose.
  18. I'm sure a lot are feeling a bit like me just really can't be bothered with the cup when doing so well in the league. I was going to say i hope he turns out the kids but they are all playing anyway 🤣 Lets not forget the lockdown rumours either that won't help, i'll be going but won't be buying until just before or on the day. I reckon there'll be 2.5 thousand there at least come the day. Preston, Bolton fans etc will mock but they've flock all else to play for and if we were our usual midtable i'd expect a lot more interest in't cup.
  19. I reckon i'd keep Butterworth around for this season he's looked handy at times. Clarkson should go back i don't want to see him start being shoehorned into the side again. Not writing him off but think we could use his loan spot a bit better.
  20. Yet again gauged by the away support by men in suits, Hudds usually bring more than Barnsley so we'll stick a tenner on the price. Absolutely nuts, i'd wager a similar home turnout to last night but more away fans. Sadly that justifies it to Waggot and co, totally missing the point as usual. That could and should be a bumper gate with a little help from the price fixers.
  21. As a few have said credit needs to be given to Barnsley it's a while since we've been second to so many tackles and 2nd balls. A tough lively hardworking no frills side who offered little in attack thankfully.
  22. Diaz was operating on the left virtually all night although him and Kendra seemed to have briefly swapped.
  23. The subs worried me last night and i know i wasn't alone but to me some lads looked a bit leggy last night. So some rotating is inevitable but lets just hope we don't return to the tinkerman days.
  24. I'd prefer them to stick to the bonus route then talk a new contract in May. Otherwise the ;journey' could find itself being reset again. Keep a bit of pressure on him its doing him good never in his history here has he resisted tinkering until now.
  25. Basically what the fans have been screaming for for about 3 years. Quite why we've had to go around the houses, fields and globe to finally get here god ( or TM) only knows. Here we are though and it's great. Everything comes to he who waits i suppose.
