Attendances: A cause for concern
tomphil replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
£30 is expensive in this area even Preston fans are saying so. Yes it's a local derby but two clubs with basically 10k active home fans and a stadium holding 30 thousand. As iv'e banged on about before though it's perception again, 14.60 for Sheff U, £30 for Preston. £27 for Swansea, £32 for West Brom, £22 for Fulham - (JWU)...... It's just stupid to be honest. A lot will just look at it and think sod it i'll wait for the really cheap ones. All they are doing is jerking around regulars and not pulling in any extras. Apart from the one off half price game. -

I'm the same but in the clubs eyes that's how they seem to look at things. -
If the budget wasn't cut you can guarantee he very much would still be stealing a wage here.

That'll rile the ST holders especially seeing as it was only 20 quid anyway. -
This guy just has to have something written into his contracts in regards to being fit for NI.

January Transfer window 2022
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Agree that needs sorting out now he's the best we've had in a long while and chances of another as good are slim to non. They did really well finding him and getting him here however losing him cancels all that out. This is what tends to happen here now though and in 6 months time as things tick down the blame will be plonked soley on the player. Get him signed up NOW ! -

The mythical 20 million would just be put in over the next ffp cycle propping things up as they are. The journey to pensionville continues. -

Please god don't give Mowbray 20 million to spend !!! Half or it will go on a kid who'll play cameo roles for ten mins every week for two years and who might be worth 20 million in 5 years. The rest will go on ex boro big wage freebies and million pound a year loans. We'll still finish 12th. -
A 200 million pound overseas loss making 'asset' on the books.....

They'll still turn up in big numbers it's their cup final they won't be able to resist. To so many of them from the in between areas it's their once a season big lash up away game. Those types will pay the price because they aren't going every week. The suits upstairs know this. -

What's a bit ironic is all this buying the training ground stuff was going on whilst Mowbray was trotting out the 'own problems in India line'. Playing things down to drum up Arma interest from clubs thinking we were skint ? We were/are really skint and this was a desperate separate issue to get cash into the club ? Him and his exec buddy really didn't have a clue it was going on and one of them was trying to set up a building project instead ? -
Summer transfer window 2021.

Just because his old man took him to Ewood as a nipper doesn't mean he's a dyed in the wool blue. The impression i always got was he was lucky enough to join his boyhood idols for 16 million+. So yes unless he's coming here fully fit for a ten grand a week contribution looking to prove something.....balls to him. Disclaimer - i think a fully fit Jones would be very useful to us but is there even such a thing ? -
They don't need to though i think that might be an issue as to why they've never gone for it. Happy just to play around and lose x amount spare change per year through the pipes and directing a bit elsewhere. Just playing around with their own corporations money in a way that doesn't pee off non family big shareholders. Something Nixon said when they were first revealed as bidders 'they want it as a money pit' always sticks in the mind. There;s always something lurking around in the bottom of any type of pit !
-
Anybody who has read my posts down the years will know i'm 100% convinced something is at play regarding money through the pipes at Rovers. Not money laundering or criminal activity or asset stripping like was originally suspected. Just plain old multi million pound conglomerate corporate accounting. Unless someone shows me the wage bill and who is on it getting what i'll remain convinced we are an accounting tool. As well as a plaything/hobby of course. Unless some are being paid astronomical amounts the money losing never really adds up. We should be past the days now of still paying fir damage done a decade ago, no imo a few mill gets hidden somewhere every year via the clubs books. Barrys European pension fund probably.

It all comes back to perception again and the confusion they are creating with different pricing for every different game. The charging of 7 pounds more for the same seat between the Swansea match and West brom game was stupid. Now we have the PNE fixture coming in at double the Sheff U one and also in the mix was Fulham at £20. So now we are hearing people say stuff that i'm not paying double what i did last time. Devaluing it by having it too cheap is one issue but so is swapping and changing it around more that the bloody team. You can see why Mowbray and Waggot go hand in hand neither has the first c;lue about getting something right and sticking with it. All this would be avoided with an ST policy similar to that which Huddersfield did and one or two others. Be bold on and off the field to get the punters in then look at sticking hold of them. -

Bingo That's the type of way around it although maybe 15 quid again as it's a more attractive game to some. -
Vs would rather pour their money via their corporate accounting through the club and down the tubes than have any local billionaires money actually helping the club. We can afford it therefore we aren't bothered is their tagline, meanwhile the club scrimps and saves every penny at ground level.

Summer transfer window 2021.
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Don't we get this Jones thing this time every year ? He'll be 36 and released on a free before there's any chance he'll be back here. -
He's probably been wheeled in by some agency to tell us all what great job everyone is doing. Be quiet humble Rovers fans and be grateful football powerhouses like Fulham only put 7 in and not 9 !!!

They could almost fill the place up for this fixture if they really wanted to but they can't be arsed. Keep moaning about the ground being too big etc but this is what it was built for so when the opportunity arises there's room. As it is there'll probably be more than 10k empty seats again but hey no need to bother with extra stewards or police. -
v Sheff Utd (h) - 6/11/21 - 146th Birthday
tomphil replied to rog of the rovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They are the ones we need to get back first and foremost as that used to be the modern day hardcore. Anything else is fantasy for a club going nowhere yet some of the expectations of our crowds you see from our own fans on social media is bonkers. A lot really don't know the club very well going off what you read at times. The decline needs addressing but it's almost like some are intent on managing it to suit their own level of ability. -
It happens every time Rovers are involved they even had a debate about Coyle being badly done to. Also if i remember correctly there was something once before when Mowbray was getting stick during a death spiral. Coco is the ultimate opportunist as we know and he probably has more PR firms than the Prime Minister.
-
It's the perfect storm for his pals at Sky. Mowbray has been getting a bit of stick, King Rat needs a new gig and up he pops again. Bad bad rovers fans.
-
Nobody cared what Moyes opinion was then and nobody does now. It's a painful read as is anything involving Kean but the replies leave a warm glow on a miserable afternoon.

The number of coaches down the years who've somehow found themselves in the managers seat must he quite high. Yet once they've flopped, been potted and got paid off they usually go back to a backroom job or retire on their pay off. Not this forked tongue wretch though he pops up either on SKY or some Scottish rag every couple of years. Still playing the victim from his multi million pound pocket fillling exercise here. New angle now though to fit the current media era - mental health.
