  1. Scratching each others backs and doing some stuff on the cheap, that as we know appeals to this lot short term. Long term always ends up costing them more as we've seen but that doesn't seem to matter. There was talk when Coyle was appointed that someone owed someone else a favour and he was prepared to work cheap. I think that is at the heart of it the likes of the said agency deal in lower end clients and that's a pond venkys fish in.
  2. I'm not sure what he is actually a Chief of though.
  3. Briefly caught a bit on talksport from Warnock off the special broadcast they are doing for him. 'All the successes iv'e had have come at places were there was a very good chairman' Basically you can't do it without that and we don't even have one and haven't had one through Vs entire reign.
  4. That text was floating around at the time and Salgado himself was happy to tell his version to anyone who asked.
  5. Oh aye once the 'advizors' get to work plus pressure from fans for big signings. There'd be plenty snouts in the trough again looking to bleed out as much as possible. The only way around it would be to hope serious lessons were learned last time. And that a proper board was appointed to oversee things. Pigs might fly as well though.
  6. Iv'e always found that those involved in football or were once involved tend to split into 2 camps. Those who like to talk and talk - especially if there's a beer in good supply - and will tell all. And those who barely say a word about it no matter how much prodding or alcohol is being applied. There never seems to be much in the middle the shop is either wide open or closed. Only difference is when it's wide open a lot of stuff gets spouted that is probably just hot air or rumour and hearsay, much as it is to fans as well.
  7. Crappy running of the club, lack of communication, action, direction, ambition leads to disenchantment. Leads to apathy and leads to if they can't be arsed why should we, especially when you have a manager stood on the touchline shrugging his shoulders most weeks. These things go hand in hand over a number of years and lead to crappy attendances. No matter how much you or others try to pin it on fans it ALL starts from the top. From the club itself it's their job to build things back up. Supporters, however few or many and yes the owners (money) carry the club those in between get paid and mostly take from it. Fans have to have something to believe and the club itself needs to wake up in order to wake up the fanbase. Saturday was a good start it showed what can be done on BOTH sides.
  8. Nonsense One season in the Prem could put this club back on an even keel again. However bad the results might be it would be worth swallowing it for a season. Then hopefully rebuild a bit stronger after relegation without a crippling wage bill. We are nothing like the Brentford sadly this club needs a promotion. Not years of pulling to bits to put back together again pretending to follow some 'model'. The people we have trying to do that just aren't competent enough they are more comfortable downgrading not building up. As for bad results it might have escaped your attention but we won 2 in 17 last season. And have just been whalloped 0-7 at home in the heaviest home defeat in history. Somehow it might be a bit more palatable if it was Arsenal or City doing it at top level.
  9. We have nothing to lose having a good go in most games but iv'e been saying that for 3 years. I just don't get why when you are in a good position you can't set up to cause the other side problems with your best formation etc. Instead of tombolaing it all the time and worrying about stopping the other mediocre players. No need for gung ho but we never do that anyway just get the key men in their best positions and go from there.
  10. TM gets referred to as head coach these days by some local journos.
  11. I think the players or at least most of them were hurting from the Fulham mess and desperately wanted to put it right themselves. I don't believe he was a game from the sack for one min that kind of stuff is just chucked about to pacify fans imo. If we'd played ok but still lost to that early goal there'd have been a heap of reasons given not to sack him. I agree there has to be more to it behind the scenes but getting the formation with some balance in it certainly helps. All too often that isn't the case when it should be but every now and then the tombola spews out the right things.
  12. Great performance it was no doubt but it shouldn't take a 0-7 home pasting to get that sort of reaction. That's the whole problem with this current set up and if they want to make progress that kind of team set up and effort has to become the norm. Not the once in every few months it tends to be. Will the pennies drop ? Will they balls it'll be back to tea and biscuits laid back efforts again once the heat is off.
  13. We haven't heard from you until we won......
  14. Great stuff today credit to all involved. Proper approach, proper team and tactics = proper football match. Makes Wednesday's shambles and the constant needless messing around even more annoying. Today is what Blackburn Rovers is ALL about, Fulham was what Venky Rovers and the last 11 years was about. Please find a balance and lets have more of todays stuff, main difference was Brereton. A busy striker in a forward position always showing, always chasing. Basic stuff is all you need in this league if everyone pulls together. Enjoy while it lasts....
  15. If he isn't taking training it's probably just because he's sulking at the players it seems the type of thing he'd do.
  16. They've been restricted to 4700 and no way will the home turnout be less than 8k, not in terms of tickets anyway. Bums turning up on seats after the other night is a different matter but official crowd will be at least 16 thousand i reckon.
  17. There hasn't been the turnover of players there was discounting the loans and Vs haven't been willing sellers to be fair. So the middlemen and agents have to get their commission somehow.
  18. The ideas, the seeds planted by Anderson and co were so they the agency could then start moving players out and in. That was their business model that's what they were in it for. After running around giving contract extensions to all the big players to pacify them after replacing Allardyce with the snivelling rat. They then set about freezing them out and paying them off, all in the name of commission. They they had freedom to start bringing more in like Rochina and Formica and charging a million quid per deal ! It was a sting nothing more nothing less, make as much as you can whilst you can and stuff the consequences. They should be in jail the whole lot of the greedy underhand vermin.
  19. Then he talked the owners out of trying for the double bounce as he directed their money into giving juicy contracts to those who got us up. Most of whom had taken us down in the first place, then he needed drones, cameras and analytical staff etc to support the journey. Then big money into BB and SG as long term investment signings instead of defenders etc and a promotion tilt. Then the experience he asked for, Downing, Johnson, Holby etc and loanees. This is where its lead us, having to slash the wage bill and sell the training ground and we've never even finished in the top ten. He has problems and a lightweight squad to deal with now for sure. 50% though is of his own making and that is pure fact i'm afraid.
  20. What's that ? Only seems to be accepted in back street chippy's these days.
  21. It shows the yesterdays men are running out of steam at championship level. It's often been the case though that certain guys suit certain clubs at certain times. Mowbray here was good example for a few years, all by chance not planning. McCarthy at Ipswich and arguably Colin Wanker when he first went to Cardiff. And there is the flip side to that with Hughton who has a decent track record but flopped at Forest. Then the other 2 in their most recent gigs. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't i think thats always been the case. The landscape is changing though so time for something fresh.
  22. They were having problems with that early yesterday afternoon. Surely its been sorted by now.
  23. The future ? Exactly the same as the present i'd presume.
  24. That would be the sensible approach to it but thats rarely gone hand in hand with Vs. More like we've ended up near the cliff edge again but don't have 30 million of players to sell. So other action has had to be taken whilst trying.hoping the team remain competitive. If it does their logic dictates they'll stick with it and Mowbray.
  25. Brentford built their model up from the bottom basically, they didn't have an academy as far as i know. I might be wrong. When you have something like ours that works you don't just bin it off on a manger and ceo's whim. Like i mentioned the Coventry fans saying the similarities are striking to TM and co there as to here. They didn't have half what we have to work with though. Having the budget halved is difficult for anybody but we don't actually know that is the case. Mowbray sets his stall out with kids and loans he's done it at previous clubs and it's safe to assume he selling a plan to the owners. That's why he keeps papping on about journeys etc but ultimately it's all about keeping him and his pals on footballs gravy train.
