That sums up everything we've seen from him so far and he looks anything but a player trying to make an impression and earn a place in the side. The leaders on the pitch and the people on the sidelines should be bawling him out to do stuff like that. He's either another lackadaisical type young player or he's not putting enough in, either way that's not anywhere near good enough regardless of whether he cost 70p or 7 million or his age.

Spot on as I think we aren't too far away in terms of back up across the team apart from up front and we've some good young ones knocking on the door who deserve a chance so if you really want to improve the team and they are chucking sevens of millions about then time to target some quality. Loan in now with a view to buy in summer if possible although obviously that isn't easy but last thing we should be doing is bloating the squad for the sake it that's been a real problem in the recent past. If they only make one good signing at a time over the next few windows that would be understandable as long as they are starter material. Toss up between a centre forward or centre back right now for me then root out some raw young Chapman like pace from somewhere on loan if possible.

Shame that possibly Whittingham blocked his way being more involved last season at a level were he could've been cutting his teeth in a decent side.

Knowing the clocks ticking has clearly refuelled Danny's desire he's one of a rare breed of older pros who doesn't just seem to be hanging around for the money, Mulgrew similar. His first half season here takes some beating I've rarely seen a striker work as hard outside of people like Shearer & Newell but probably agree on the rest he looks fitter than the relegation season. Different levels obviously but he's adapting himself a bit like big Al did later in his career when he'd slowed up a bit.

Those who don't appreciate Graham need a serious head wobble, yes he's ageing and showing the signs sometimes but he's adapting himself to hold the ball or win free kicks etc whereas in the past he'd be making runs or closing down. Not possible these days but unlike some of the overpaid carthorses of the Venky era this lad is learning to manage his legs and I think TM does a good job of managing him. To replace him or even get as good a finisher as him even if a different type of player is going to be very difficult, 7 million would go a long way towards it though, may be it still will but that looks an extremely long shot.

Travis is a young player so he may do well but run out of steam at some point so Smallwood might comeback refreshed a break could do him good. However regardless of that if Travis does well he should keep the shirt, drop the old pals act and pick players on merit and in Travis case it also would send a great message to other young players at this club.

We certainly did not press every team really high in league 1 I don't what he's trying to pull there but that's bull. It was a bugbear on here week in week out as to why we didn't press teams and go on the front foot often enough when we had so much more firepower. Williams has the worst passing ability since Jason Lowe i'm beginning to think he's got sight problems for anything over 3 yards but he was the same last time in this div but seems worse this season. I can't buy into the neat and tidy passing team either because we are so so wasteful in possession and during the Leeds game I said far too casual all over the park and that was before Mulgrew struck. I'm not sure what it's trying to achieve as if you want to draw opposition onto you (which we do with great effect) you need to swiftly counter with quick precise balls whether it be down the flanks or going long to your target man. We've no wingers to do that and the other option only works via DG and Dack every few games when they are on song and we catch the opposition out otherwise far too predictable.
