Derby vs Rovers post match thread

Lack of height across the team contributes to set piece ineffectiveness even when the delivery is good, everything aimed for Darragh who isn't exactly a colossus attacking the ball. -

TM is a bit of a draw specialist we saw that when he first came and even last season where we won a good few games just through being stronger than the opposition rather than attacking tactics, others were down to him making the right positive changes in games or from the off but generally even with that squad in league 1 it was caution first. It might just end up serving us well this season as they look to bed in again in the Championship so I wouldn't be to worried, contrast this game to the Bristol one where he tried to go for it and we got spanked after a decent first half !!! Moving forwards though he needs to get attacking flair in right areas over the next transfer windows and use them properly. That's unless he's used it all signing on the young lad from Forest, a signing I think is going be beg more questions than answers as time moves on. -
Another possibly corrupt arseshole, it really is no wonder he ended up here. I live for the day when something finally turns up on the likes of Anderson and Kean.

He used to be a Charlton Athletic fan, I think they'd be very grateful to have had his stewardship over the last few years ! -

Definitely a point earned tonight, looked a shoddy performance but we clearly went there to spoil and sometimes you have to do that. We didn't do it nearly enough in the relegation season so I can see the logic in it now. Risky strategy but we aren't really strong enough to go and try it on at Derby I don't think, some places we should though. -

Williams in at centre back ? Dear oh dear I can see this place will be alight with cries of why the hell didn't we get in another proper centre half after this one ....... -

He probably needs a rest so that's fair enough but if someone comes in and does well they should keep the shirt ! -
I'll never ever warm to Fury but have to say BJS on a personal level makes TF look like Mary Poppins he's a hideous little scrote that thing the other night is just one of loads of similar things with him. There's no doubt in my mind this guy would be driving around in a transit pick up knocking on doors looking for old ladies to rip off or something if he wasn't a boxer. You'd think with his money and success he'd be able to leave the nonsense alone but it's in his blood it seems although it did cross my mind he might be trying to wriggle out of his next fight if he doesn't fancy it he's known for that as well. He'd make a good professional football brat with his antics ?

This is what they should be grateful for really considering where they've spent most of the last 30 years. Rich business folk who aren't really football fans and own clubs through vehicles set up to run them do this mostly for business/finance and tax reasons. Under pinning running costs with profits from elsewhere and running a bit through the books to be taken out elsewhere. Added advantages of the corporate side, advertising for their other projects and a bit of an ego trip. It's the way it is and those Nobbers who thought they'd got their very own Uncle Jack or Barry Kilby when TH bought their club were definitely in cuckoo land. Like I said above though he has ensured they've kept batting at a more decent level than they used to be. -
He engineered the McGregor fight just for his tax money and now this, con artist is maybe a bit too strong as modern day fans are daft enough and willing enough to lap it up. Exploiting fans is probably a better way to put it.

Darwen End Closure / New Singing Section

Similar things at Preston they got some good crowds for a few years in league one but since they came back to the championship they only get around 10k home fans for most games despite doing quite well. Money related or just the hardcore is the hardcore and most others are just part time or casual fans ? -
Speak to older Bolton fans in Chorley and they'll come out with similar hairy tales of visits to Ewood and all sorts of shenanigans in Mill Hill or Lower Darwen etc, it's always been a big one for them. They don't come out with the silly Dingle jibes though they know better that only seems to have cottoned on in the last 10 years and like Matty says pathetically lifted from how us and PKE term Burnley although they've always used the term hillbillies to be fair ! Notlob also seem to try and jack up the PNE game as well beyond it just being another derby for some reason, they are just desperate to be hated so they can pretend to be notorious or something. They pale into insignificance on both counts in comparison to Burnley, they are the invisible neighbour and they don't like it ?
-
Yeah they both owe huge USA back taxes allegedly, I won't watch it and imo anyone who pays PPV for it is a bit of a mug. Mayweather indeed a great fighter but he's also a bit of a con artist.
-
Only thing I disagree on there is them doing it again putting their asses on the line to earn all the leaches in suits a load of money again to make sure it's called which way they want it to be. Can't see Golovkin now ever beating Canelo he's getting on and those two wars will have taken it out of him I bet. He's put his best on Alvarez and not got rid of him to get it away from the judges so it's time to leave it imo.

I don't remember his name in the GBR's alongside Garner and Rush ? -
Looking at those two fights i'd actually give the second a draw, GGG was robbed in the first but they'd never give a draw in this one after the mess of the first. It was only ever going to go one way on points they tried their best to get it to Canelo in the first one. WBC & Goldenboy promotions are boxing mafia and pee in each others pockets it's an open secret over there. All the crap aside yes you've got to credit both fighters for two wars and fair play to Canelo he's stood up to all GGG could offer for 24 rounds and not get ko'ed. Seems that was enough in the judges eyes.

Who was that ? I remember as a kid being over the moon that Garners name was in the Guinness book of records alongside people like Rush for scoring 5 in one league game. We didn't have much to celebrate then and I was surrounded by plastic scousers ! -
It's a hike trapped on a bus for.... ?

They've had some sub one thousands up here and a couple of not many more in recent times when things weren't going well for them. Big club but shows no one is immune to bad ownership and highlights how well our away support has actually stood up since Vs and partners rocked up. -
I'm sure it was dearer at Ipswich last time around as well maybe one or two are waking up at last. Interesting that some of those with the larger fan bases are prepared to do it as well so fair play to them. Bolton have always been the greediest North West club and oddly always the skintest, best way we can repay those that shell out is to finally get a win there and shove it up the Manc overspill scruffs !

Me neither but it was doing the rounds. Basically he's our player now full time they probably just don't have to start paying for him aside from a deposit classed as a loan fee until after Jan. I hope to god they don't plant to sell to buy this lad ! -
As long as we sell 2.5k it's respectable enough, we should even at those prices NotloB have always been at the dearer end and it's their big local derby after all. They'd shift around that in similar circumstances at Ewood. 30 quid will be a standard price in the Championship in the next year or two and of course it should be a given rule that clubs can charge what they get charged in return !

I've heard different versions, we are committed sign him so basically he's ours now whatever it's just that it has to wait till after Jan to be rubber stamped. Also, we can back out but they can't is another version.
