  1. Brilliant save by Kaminski! What a gem of a keeper we've found. Absolutely have to keep him at the club at all costs.
  2. Absolutely sickening watching Poveda get stretchered off tbh... feels like our players have the worst luck with injuries.
  3. Standard rusty Rovers after an international break. Bristol mostly threatening from set pieces, but they're getting enough opportunities that it's a worry. Edun and Davenport have been our best players so far. Poveda and Khadra look lively but it's not come off for them just yet. Nyambe having a poor game.
  4. https://salarysport.com/football/sky-bet-championship/blackburn-rovers/ If these salaries are accurate then it would seem wages are under control, as for 19/20 we were spending £23mil+/year. This total wage bill is well within our revenue. It would also explain why Rothwell, Nyambe and Brereton may be looking elsewhere as they definitely deserve a much higher wage than they're currently getting.
  5. They’re not just barely keeping it afloat though are they? They’re literally spending up to the limit that FFP allows.
  6. I mean, we’re in 7th and the players are still playing for him. I could understand if we were mid table and players wanted him out but that’s not the case is it? Whatever people think about his quality as a manger, Mowbray hasn’t significantly underachieved in his time here so ending his contract now makes no sense. This is his last chance to get us into the playoffs. If he fails then someone new should come in next season. If he succeeds there’s more of a decision to make. I have no concerns if he is given money to spend even if a new manager comes in next season. Mowbray has signed more good players than bad.
  7. I don’t think anyone thinks we’ll definitely go into administration if Venkys leave but based on the 19/20 season numbers our revenue was lower than Barnsley’s. Our wage to turnover ratio was 189% … I can’t imagine it’s improved since then. If they do leave what will happen? We will need to drastically cut our budgets on pretty much everything. We’re utterly reliant on Venky’s money in order to spend money on players like Brero and Arma and wages for players like Ayala. We’re reliant on them to upkeep the academy and probably a myriad of other things we don’t regularly see. Are they responsible for getting us into a situation where our revenue streams are so low in the first place? 100%. But it doesn’t change the reality of the situation. A lot of fans see that and appreciate that we are still able to invest money in players, bring in good young players on loan and have a quality academy to promote players from. We have it better than a lot of clubs out there. The truth is that we’ve gone from the greatest, most passionate football owner in Jack Walker to a group of inexperienced, incompetent but (maybe) well intentioned owners in the Venkys. No owner will ever be enough and will never match Jack Walker or his legacy. But personally I have enjoyed the Mowbray era for the most part and I have been enjoying this season and am choosing to stay positive about our chances even though I know we’ve been there many times before already.
  8. Just give him until the end of the season. Too many posters are basing their opinions on what has happened in the past and disregarding the fact that we are having a really good season so far with a lot of players finally fulfilling their potential and TM himself much improved with his selections and tactical decisions. In TM’s 5 season with us so far he has neither overachieved or underachieved. 1st season - the form under him was excellent and we were very unfortunate to go down in the end. 2nd season - promoted on first time of asking 3rd season - comfortably avoided relegation zone and started the rebuild of the squad in the Championship 4th season - top half finish 5th season - this was the only major disappointment for me. We had a squad that was capable of promotion but we let it slip. Although I think a ridiculous number of injuries were the main contributor to our loss of form, TM didn’t make things better with a lot of baffling decisions 6th season - currently challenging for a playoff spot with a squad that’s got the 3rd most goals in the league playing some really great football at times He’s basically made steady progress with us every season other than last season. You shouldn’t sack someone when they’re hitting their targets. If he still fails to achieve anything this season, bring someone new in and start fresh.
  9. I think whether he stays or go will be conditional on his performance in the next 3 matches. There’s about 7-9 clubs vying for the last 2 playoff spots atm. We could easily find ourselves in one of those spots by the time the international break comes around. We’re facing bottom of the league Derby and an underperform Sheff Utd at home. It would be outrageous to sack him when we have the 4th best GD in the league and 1 point away from top 6.
  10. Bereft of creativity this side, completely unbalanced. Other than Rothwell who's capable of creating any chances?
  11. FFS, finally a decent attacking move... comes to Clarkson and he fluffs it.
  12. Clarkson is not good enough. It's like playing with 10 men.
  13. That was the most shambolic defending of a free kick I've ever seen. Don't think anyone knew where their man was.
  14. This board was whinging and moaning about the money “wasted” on Brero and Gally not too long ago. Now it’s all about Venky’s turning the taps off. Its like goldilocks and the three bears on here.
  15. I posted the same at half time. Buckley should have been taken off as he was being targeted by Coventry and was shirking out of challenges since he was on a yellow. Tbf to Mowbray, his subs did change the game back into our favour again but they came too late. One of my biggest qualms with Mowbray is he makes subs too late and it's cost us a lot of points in the past. Sad to say, but I think the crowd numbers affected our performance. All you could hear was the Coventry fans in the second half and the were spurred on to get back into the game on the back of that, while we started to lose our nerve. It feels like this team could actually finish in the playoff places this season, but if the fans can't unite behind (or despite) the manager/owners I don't see it happening.
  16. Personally I don't get it. I'm stuck in the world's most locked down city unable to even leave my apartment without a mask. I would love to have the chance to go down to Ewood to see this team potentially break into the top 6 again. If it's just a matter of ticket prices or people struggling financially at the minute then I understand, but otherwise why not get out there to support your team?
  17. I think Buckley needs to come off at the break. Nearly conceded one there because he had to shirk out of a challenge in case he got a second yellow. 2-0 up we can afford to lose some of his creativity to have Johnson or Davenport come on instead.
  18. Champagne football that - beautiful goal. Liking the look of Van Hecke and Edun as well.
