  1. England 2 Iran 1 Last 8:- England Senegal France Argentina Spain Belgium Uruguay Brazil
  2. Police dogs successfully sniff out drug laden Rovers’ fans at West Ham. About time all clubs started to do this.
  3. Dacky has chosen the celebrity lifestyle, and all the social media garbage that goes with it. Hopefully, if his partner is off Twitter etc with Ant and Dec for a while, Bradley will get some breathing space. I love him as a player, but some of the recent antics are in danger of a lot of fans losing patience with him. Toys and prams do nobody any good, apart from babies and children.
  4. Hopefully the Qatar team will lose all their group games so that the Qatari government is embarrassed. I wonder how many of their team will be paid mercenaries from other countries?
  5. JDT manages like a typical pragmatic Scandinavian; use the resources available to you without any sentiment, stick to your principles, work hard and keep calm. Long may it continue for Blackburn Rovers.
  6. Read Trav’s piece in today’s Telegraph in which he blames the players for their away day blues, not the manager.
  7. Good to see Travis saying that the players need to step up and take responsibility for their terrible way form and inconsistent performances. Very rare in this day and age to see someone in the workplace looking at things this way.
  8. How can the manager be accountable for players who were excellent one game and rubbish in the next eg Morton, Szmodics, Brereton etc? Surely they have to take responsibility for their huge swing in performance from game to game, too easy to blame the manager when players are so inconsistent.
  9. Give the guy a chance, the current criticism of JDT is ridiculous. I would much rather see a gradual and solid development of the club than the hiring and firing mantra adopted by so many clubs these days. Comparing him after 12 games to Dalglish, who had millions to spend to improve the team, is pathetic, and taking the Mickey out of the pronunciation of his name is childish to say the least. Yes, we are all frustrated by the inconsistent results, but please be patient and let’s see where Mr. Tomasson can take us.
  10. Looks like another case of rubbish one half, ok the next…..hopefully!
  11. Fair enough Matty, but I can’t lose the image of far right politics and the flag of St. George.
  12. I was just pointing out that yobbish behaviour by England fans seems to coincide with the demise of the Union Jack as England’s flag, and it’s replacement with the cross of St. George, the preferred emblem of the far right of English politics. No sign of any such flags before the BNP, National Front, UKIP etc reread their ugly heads.
  13. But why do fans from England feel the need to act like this? Basically it’s because of the arrogant and bigoted attitude that prevails in this country, the belief that having a good time always involves being pissed or drugged up and it’s ok to act like a twat and insult other people.
  14. For me the England team is now associated with the extreme right of English politics, bigoted yobs who have no idea how to behave respectfully in other countries, the latest debacle being in Milan singing f..k the Pope. The rot set in when the flag of St. George replaced the Union Jack to show support for England. Witness the ruination of the Euro final at Wembley when hordes of drugged in and drunken England scum stormed the turnstiles, the same louts who are causing trouble in club games across the country now. No other nation behaves like this at football tournaments, bigots and arrogant chavs. If any of this shower make it to Qatar, hopefully they get jailed, never to be seen gain.
  15. Disappointing to lose, but we have to be patient with this group of young players. I can see us having a yo-yo season, win one lose one, such is the inconsistency when you have a group of players who can’t sustain a high standard every game. Those blaming the manger at this early stage are being very unfair on him, he’s on a learning curve too. Like most football fans these days, there’s no sense of perspective or patience.
  16. Great Rovers support here tonight. Killing us in midfield and Ince Jnr is putting some wicked corners into our box.
  17. That was a stupendous effort in the heat, I’m knackered and I was only watching it from the stands.
  18. Just wondering if Ewood area is affected by the major water burst going on in Oakdale estate behind the Fernhurst. No water or poor pressure since 10am on Saturday in Livesey, Feniscowles, Tockholes etc. Some pubs shut yesterday. Still not sorted. Will Ewood Park be able to open if water supply is affected?
  19. Especially with the PA system on at full belt! Some good tunes to set up the win.
  20. For those not at the game it watching on telly, not sure you could fully appreciate the way we kept our shape all game. Moving up and down the pitch as a complete unit, that’s purely down to coaching. Loved it.
  21. The govt; all foreign workers have to apply for a work permit/visa to ply their trade in the U.K. It’s based on a points make prizes system, unless you have a brown envelope for the relevant govt minister.
  22. The Brexit issue isn’t just about not being able to sign EU players with getting work permits etc, it’s also made for ridiculously high transfer fees and wages for very mediocre U.K. and Irish ones because of the reduced size of the market we can shop in. Brexit, the gift that keeps on giving, it’s been a pile of them so far.
  23. A few thoughts on our Scottish Tour. I was by chance due to be in Scotland for our pre-season games there, so it was wonderful to be able to see both games in the flesh. I thought our youngsters were excellent at Dundee, and our first team played really well at Celtic Park. Two great cities to visit, two completely contrasting grounds, both of which I’ve visited often, and two very enjoyable games. A far better pair of fixtures than playing lower league English teams because of the added edge of an England Scotland rivalry.
  24. I thought we looked good up front, especially in second half. Keeper made 3 good saves for them.
