  1. Bit in bold I agree 100% Bit in italics I disagree 100%. We are probably over-stocked in central midfield and we now have three absolutely first class central defenders plus cover from Nyambe and Grayson/Platt while left back has Williams who could play there at a stretch plus Bell and Hart. Yes I would have liked to have seen a further addition at central defence during the window but Mowbray might have called this one right given what was and wasn't available in the market. Very much doubt Bauer could have matched Williams last night.
  2. I suspect Tosin is another level higher again. We will see on Saturday when I expect Tosin and Lenihan in the middle and Williams to LB or perhaps we will go 3 at the back with Bennett and Downing as genuine wing backs. I would like that formation as Cardiff look to be capable of being overloaded in defence with quick attacks. By the way I would stick with Gallagher where he is until Chapman is fully fit.
  3. Hugely entertaining game before a remarkably sparse crowd of just over 10k. Rovers bossed it apart from Grosicki. We did an excellent job on Bowen all night. Very encouraging as there was a solid feel to Rovers' completely missing from last season. Not totally surprised by how complimentary the Hull fans are about us. Might be premature but there is a core of 16 ish players who can all be relied upon to do a decent job. Still need to tighten up on our passing accuracy. Bennett main culprit but Johnson looks like he has a point dropping booboo in him for all his other very strong points. All in all though, we did an excellent job at Hull and looked a class outfit most of the game.
  4. Wonderful win- up the football league we go! Williams immense and MOTM just for that tackle in the 94th minute never mind everything else he did. Downing is a great player still and Dack was excellent. Travis Johnson are a great pairing in the making- some dodgy moments but commanding. Somebody give Armstrong a footballer's brain and we have the makings of something interesting here.
  5. Me too- highly entertaining game. Both sides' managements at half time will be seeing opportunities to win it. I am not so worries about us not getting shots on target as I would be if we were having zero shots. These things tend to go in cycles and the shots on will come. Great penalty save from Walton. Bennett has his statutory three brain fart ball give aways. Winning this depend on him having no more.
  6. Rovers offside 3 times in first 5 minutes Now 4 times in 6
  7. I am watching on iFollow now
  8. Sadly we are now at the point of Bury North MP pleading with the Football League for time and threatening to use Parliamentary privilege to make disclosures. Bolton saga is at least two weeks from the various legal cases being resolved assuming goodwill between the various parties which clearly does not exist.
  9. Show me a business plan which makes money as a League 2 outfit next season... The obvious thing is for the Neville brothers et al to take either Bury or Bolton over but they have a vehicle with constrained costs and no baggage at Salford which works for them. I would be astonished if their people haven't at least run the numbers on Bolton and Bury and the silence is deafening..
  10. You guys still don't get it. Notlob are as dead as the parrot.
  11. Tosin out until Cardiff. Ditto Butterworth. Samuel will be u-23s v Wolves Chapman, Platt Grayson, Hart all playing tonight v Leicester so not available for tomorrow's squad.
  12. The number of games needed to catch up plus the size of the points deductions are making a mockery of League 1 already. No way could either club assemble even a half way capable League One squad from unattached players once the window has closed on 31 August.
  13. Huddersfield will be brilliant winning a game they are not even playing in... Hull City are the Tigers.
  14. Not completely- the larynx develops until as late as 27 for example.
  15. Forget about points deductions, come 1 September League 1 will only have 22 clubs in it. Going to be a great season to do well in the National League- I cannot see relegation from League 2 being suspended but it might go one down three up.
  16. Latest statements from all parties look terrible for the future of the club. There is brinkmanship then there is this which suggests none of the putative buying parties were ever anything other than chancers.
  17. I might be dreaming it but Mowbray has indicated same again. With Bowen on the right it probably makes sense to have two natural left footers but Eaves might require the height of Tosin to nullify him- assuming Tosin has recovered. Saw extended highlights of a strong Hull performance at Brentford with Grosicky and Bowen firing on all cylinders when going forward. Over all I would say Hull look a much better balanced outfit than the rabbles we doubled last season so nobody should be thinking this will be an easy fixture. They look vulnerable to well organised counters down the flanks but make up for that by crowding the ball in the middle. Got a feeling this will be decided by how many misplaced passes we make coming out from the back. Any more than obligatory 3 each from Bennett and Williams and we will be in trouble. Doubt either Brereton or Smallwood will make the bench again.
  18. 50% of the post match chat has disappeared. We are only on page 23 whereas the Fulham and Charlton threads had reached well past page 30 by now.
  19. Cardiff have had more shots on target - agreed it should have been 5-0; missed penalty and keeper one-on-one at the end.
  20. Gallagher was immense- I was totally wrong about him.
  21. Signal now dropped completely
  22. Going to be a long long 15 minutes
  23. Statistics seem to be weirdly inaccurate this season. Rovers scored one, one saved, two blocked on the line by George Friend. Shots on target 2 To more important things and Gallagher looks far more of a footballing brain wide on the right than Armstrong ever does. Just hopes DG is not subbed too early because this is working.
  24. Wouldn't play on Safari so suspended ad blocker on Chrome. Quality of picture seems to be low resolution.
