  1. Well done City on beating the Rags but from a neutral(ish) point of view the game was a bit of a damp squib. So many high quality players who just didn't do it today for City but for them picking up the cup was all that mattered.
  2. City are playing a version of walking football and making it easy for the Rags to play against them. De Bruyne has been awful as has Haaland. United are distinctly average with the likes of Fred and Sancho vastly overrated. If City up the tempo they can win this comfortably but at the moment they are their own worst enemy.
  3. Maybe there is some confusion and the minutes belong to this event 😂😂
  4. This is going to end in tears 😢😢 😄😄
  5. I renewed in person and wasn't charged the 'booking fee' but in the minutes BP states that he knows some people who weren't charged it also and has agreed to supply PF with their names so these could be checked. So is he going to get in touch with anybody who hasn't paid it? The administration of our club is frankly embarrassing.
  6. We made £1.5m from the live TV matches which inconvenienced lots of supporters (and pi55ed off many) and the money has gone to offset the shortfall that the errant ones put in.
  7. It is. I recall getting a bit giddy when he signed because he had a big reputation. After watching his debut at Hull that quickly changed and he tanked in the next few games. In fairness though he has made a good career for himself. Your prize for the first to answer correctly is an evening with Steve Waggott 😂😂
  8. An ex Rover is now playing for Seville in the Europa League final. Can anyone name him?
  9. There are so many similarities between the Sky and BT prices and our season ticket prices with the main one being too pricey when there are cheaper (albeit illegal) options. As Wheelton Blue says lots of Rovers fans watch the games from the comfort of their living rooms.
  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65697595 Some operators of illegal football streams have been caught and jailed. Once again though the reason people turn to this is because the high prices charged by Sky and BT which in turn feeds the agents, players and executives.
  11. This is the same referee who sent a Barnsley player off yesterday but didn't seem this a red card.
  12. One of the exceptions were Rovers when the relegation clauses were (allegedly) removed by Kean and Anderson who then were paid for the renegotiation of players contracts.
  13. Not necessarily. His season (much like the clubs) is judged over the entirety of it so a few errors here and there could be absorbed into high marks from lots of good games enabling him to finish top of the merit list.
  14. He has worked with VAR on the few Premier League games he has refereed and in our FA Cup quarter final. I don't think the referee is really at fault here as his initial view was partly obstructed by the Wednesday player on the ground. The blame for me lies wholly with VAR who, after seeing the incident from the other side should have recommended an OFR. I'm sure the decision would have been overturned if this simple process had been followed.
  15. The referee today was the same one who wrongly sent Jake Garrett off at Coventry, should have sent Jack Robinson off at Sheffield in the FA Cup and sent Ayala off at Bristol City. Three but decisions to make but only one (Ayala) correct in my view. He has just been promoted to Select Group one though. To add the Barnsley's woe I thought they should have had a penalty early in the second half. The VAR once again has simply proved wholly inadequate.
  16. I am honestly perplexed at the red card given to the Barnsley player given that VAR is there to advise the referee on a 'clear and obvious error'. It didn't endanger an opponents safety, wasn't out of control of dangerous so it's simply a yellow card for reckless play for me. And given Barnsley should have had a penalty a few moments earlier they can feel really hard done to. The camera panned to Howard Webb in the aftermath who was studiously reading a text or email on his phone. His face gave me a strong indication of the content.
  17. The relief of the Everton fans was clear but within minutes they were chanting 'sack the board'. As at every club they are the one constant. Players, managers and owners come and go but they, like us are there for life.
  18. I finished the series Gav and agree that it was excellent. I particularly liked the focus on individuals from across the divide rather than the collective paramilitary units. Their stories were terrible and the raw emotion was evident even after all these years.
  19. There you go. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/rob-edwards-tom-lockyer-luton-30094611
  20. I have just been told that Luton will be playing away games until some time in September to give them time to get their ground ready. This was an agreement made last week after a ground inspection.
  21. Awful person seems a bit strong. I saw him go to every Coventry player after the game to console them before he celebrated which I think is far from awful. Two of the starting team and a substitute were brought in in January by Edwards.
  22. I read they will have a new stand built very quickly like Blackpool did when they went up. They also have to improve media and disabled facilities.
  23. Congratulations to Luton. It's a fantastic achievement for a club with quite meagre resources but they make up for that with a spirit money can't buy. Their manager seems a good sort but as much as I dislike Nathan Jones some credit has to go to him. I'm looking forward to some of the big time millionaires in the Premier League seeing the facilities at Kenilworth Road.
  24. He was the best despite his aberration at Palace.
  25. The Championship play-off final has been a Select Group one referee for some time now. I suppose the logic is you want the best referee on the game with such huge rewards. And Oliver is the best in this country by a long way.
