  1. He's isolating in one of the dungeons.😂😂 They seriously expected to believe guff like that though.
  2. Liverpool's Academy doesn't just produce good players but good coaches too. Steve Cooper, Michael Beale and Ian Critchley have all worked there in the recent past.
  3. I don't know for sure but people closer to the organisation than me (who don't post on here) tell me he is second in the chain of command after the owners. I think Mowbray inadvertently confirmed this when he said he hadn't spoken direct to the owners for a considerable time but he had spoken to Pasha regularly. I'm also told that he is paid directly by Venkys. And we haven't even heard his voice.
  4. You've omitted Pasha from your reply. Apparently he is the one who makes the decisions and is, by extension a Venky.
  5. So the deal is try and bring in a quality manager who will probably get the juices flowing, sell more season tickets and give us some hope and optimism. But the caveat is that you have to work with our pound shop coaches. Isn't that absolutely typical of the last twelve years.
  6. I really enjoyed watching Ukraine tonight as they played some terrific stuff with Zinchenko absolutely outstanding. Some understandably emotional scenes as they celebrated at the end.
  7. I was still an active referee when he was at Reading and came across him several times and he struck me as arrogant and entitled. When I was assessing I worked on some games with Mick McGuire who at the time was Deputy CEO of the PFA and had had many dealings with Pardew. His name came up in a conversation one day and Mick said "if he was made of chocolate he would eat himself". I always think of that quote whenever I hear mention of his name.
  8. Angry and upset - you have made the wrong assumption about me there. My comment was a generalisation covering the whole spectrum of our fan base (and people in general).
  9. And everybody handles it differently, some with anger, frustration, disgust or like you just roll with it. Telling people to chill is quite antagonist when they are not of that ilk.
  10. They've run DOWN a multi million pound successful business here Paul. There is absolutely no synergy between how they run their other businesses and how they run Rovers. That is one of my real frustrations over the last decade.
  11. Looking at that picture could it be Tony Diamond?
  12. He did say June 6th but he didn't say which year though. 😆😆
  13. I don't think they have but it appears they have identified a target and gone for them whereas we have interviewed lots and are still buggering about.
  14. And there is the rub. We have had twelve years of incompetence, downsizing, failure and disappointment with this lot. Why would anybody believe that all of a sudden things are better? Nothing has changed - we are light years away from where we were when they took over and they haven't learnt anything in that time. Why would any self respecting manager want to work here after being interviewed by the likes of Waggott and Pasha? Reality took over with me ages ago and my faith in them is zero.
  15. A pure guess would be Andy Kennedy.
  16. He is actually a Sunderland supporter although he does live in Leeds. I really don't understand the lack of involvement by VAR for both penalty shouts. The very reason it was brought in was to make right major errors by the on field referee and they don't come any bigger than a Championship playoff final. Whilst Moss is getting the flak and abuse Tierney, the VAR is the most culpable here. In real time I can understand Moss not giving them but the major failing here is VAR and the PGMOL will undoubtedly hide behind the 'clear and obvious error' which is ambiguous to say the least. How much more of an error can it be when Moss actually cautions the Huddersfield player for simulation when it should be a penalty? I've said before, with the benefit of being involved for high on two decades that the refereeing world at times is almost Masonic and it's getting worse. Yesterday Corberan and Cooper had to face the press and would have been asked about the game including errors by their players. Mike Riley or one of the senior management team should have done so yesterday.
  17. I was there too. They are building new changing rooms which should be ready for next season.
  18. Both Steve Cooper and Carlos Corberan are very good tacticians which has contributed greatly to their teams success this season. Our former manager wasn't a very good tactician and contributed to our lack of success. In a nutshell for me.
  19. Corberan will have to go to his plan B now (if he has one) as his plan A of a bank of five and four is just set up to defend and play on the break. In fairness they have done a number on Forests danger men but now they have to change.
  20. How can we be nearer to an appointment if we are going to approach managers already in work? If that process is to happen then we are no nearer to making an appointment. Surely you can understand that will just delay the appointment.
  21. And apparently still no nearer to making an appointment. As David Essex once sang "oh what a circus'. Does anybody actually know the process if, for example the job is offered to Carvahal? Will contract negotiations, coaching staff and budget talks start at that point or will these have been sorted out during the interview.
  22. I was going to post similar. What a terrific game with two teams going hell for leather to win a game of football.
  23. I was given that figure by somebody who was (and still is) playing professionally. He said the figure was a big talking point in the game as it was felt that the low wage undervalued the role of a Championship manager. He also said Coyle suggested the figure. I'll ring him now and tell him to give his head a wobble.
