  1. I can't recall a time when I was less enthused about watching Rovers play. The way our season has crashed and burned is scandalous. The malaise around Rovers right now is getting to an all time low for many and something needs to happen to address this. Getting new owners who actually seem to give a toss would be great but as that's unlikely then sacking the whole cabal of Waggott, Mowbray and the coaches will do for starters. I honestly don't know what to expect from us tonight. I really want to beat this lot otherwise they will be crowing again in their green eyed way. Although still mathematically possible I really don't think the playoffs are realistic so some pride from the players will do for starters. I don't want to see Mowbrays sloped shoulders, hands on head and all his other annoying traits. In fact let the players take charge as the did for the second half against Derby whilst Mowbray sulks.
  2. Somebody with their finger on the pulse told me that if you bought individual tickets for the last five games it would have cost you £90 but Rovers had this super 'final five' offer on for £99. Absolutely brilliant!
  3. The cloud that could be Burnley staying up could be tempered by the silver lining of Everton going down. That's a win/nearly win for me. 😁😁😁
  4. What about giving three and four year deals to players who were 30+? And contracts awarded for simply doing their jobs like Evans and Smallwood? He has cost this club millions in wages on injury prone and cross players
  5. He has certainly reverted to type in this respect. On our winning run it was essentially a settled side, system and way of playing. Now it's baffling what formation we are playing and most of his substitutions necessitate several positional changes for the players. And then it's real head scratching time. I would settle for the type of performance and result when we beat them at Ewood. We were strong, energetic, resilient and did the basics right.
  6. A good quality, ambitious manager would look at several things, some of which we will hugely fail in. Firstly the players he inherits. Well at the moment with the loans and out of contract players going back we couldn't really name enough to fill the bench. And the ability of some of them leaves a lot to be desired. He will want guarantees on budgets both for wages and transfers. With the talk of a 'wage cap' getting in established Championship quality players will be difficult. The transfer budget will no doubt be curtailed by P&S although other clubs don't seem to be worried about it like us. The facilities we have would appeal to a decent manager as would the Academy, particularly if he has a history of developing youngsters. On the other hand desperados like Coyle and Grayson would jump at the chance to get back in the limelight. They are cheap, will toe the line and be completely subservient to the owners. If Mowbray does go I believe that is the market we will be in.
  7. There is hardly any positive incentives to renew and yet Waggott and the owners charge the same price and want to sting any new applications with a surcharge. Given that inflation is running wild and there is huge pressures on families how on earth do they expect lots of people to renew let alone attract new ones. Factor in the poor form of recent months and a huge scaling back of the squad then what reasons are there to existing and potential new season ticket who to commit a fair chunk of money? Had they been on sale in February when we were flying high with an early bird type incentive then we might have shifted a decent amount. That ship has sailed and once again we will be looking at a record low number of sales only this time Waggott can't hide behind Covid.
  8. The inconsistency just makes it worse for me. I saw half hearted challenges, not tracking back and idleness. Man United players have been rightly criticised for their attitudes recently and to me Southampton were equally as bad. And the fact that several hundred fan's made an arduous journey to support them sums up their poor attitude.
  9. I'm embarrassed for Southampton. Several hundred fan's travelled from the South coast and the players are tossing it off.
  10. I have only just noticed this is a 7.30 kick off not the usual 7.45. Personally it suits me and I think lots of others will welcome it but once again Sky are pulling the strings.
  11. In the months before my retirement John the real difficulty was motivation for me. As I got closer to the day the harder it was to show any enthusiasm. Perhaps Mowbray has been on this 'journey' too.
  12. And maybe I'm reading too much into it John but aren't Warburton and Bruce out of contract at the end of the season too.
  13. And how many of our youngsters might be coerced into signing for Sheron as their agent? The stench currently coming from Ewood and Brockhall is horrible.
  14. Being a dull Darrener Andy I had to read it twice but nearly wet myself when the penny dropped.
  15. The letter at the head of the article blows the 'badly advised' myth out of the water. They were told by the then incumbents at Ewood that what they were doing contravened FA regs. And the signatories ended up leaving as Venkys and their 'advisors' ruined our club. Bastards the lot of them.
  16. I have been reliably informed that they are indeed cousins and that Dave Sheron is still very much pulling Suhails strings.
  17. Is Dave Sheron the brother of our under 23 coach Mike? I'm sure I saw it somewhere but I can't find any evidence to support it.
  18. Can you just explain the difference between the two?
  19. Wayne Rooney said yesterday he hoped Mel Morris had a sleepless night for his part in Derby's demise. Our absent owners have ruined our club, pissed all over Jack Walkers legacy and still some of our supporters are beholden to them and even worse trust them. I wouldn't give them the time of day.
  20. What we haven't seen for months though Den is the high press and intensity in our play. I can recall the performance at Stoke when I likened it to watching a Mark Hughes team. Grit, determination, aggression was a real feature of the ten wins in eleven games, most of which had clean sheets. Since January/February I have seen very little of these qualities. We have actually looked unfit, slow and ponderous. I'm baffled as to how this can happen.
  21. In Mowbrays attempt to blame the atmosphere and fans on the shocking performance he has come up with contradiction #557. On Friday he praised the fans for their support but we were rewarded with an insipid, uninspiring performance. Yesterday's performance was as bad but Mowbray attaches blame to us but it was essentially the same players with not too many youngsters as he said. There is a common denominator here and it certainly isn't the fans.
  22. Just watching Forest and they are everything we were for a couple of months earlier this season. Intensity, great press, commitment and pace to counter. I am really coming round to the opinion that something has gone on at Brockhall/Ewood for this collapse to be as catastrophic as it has. I heard from a reliable source who is on the training ground daily that the training has been poor and the players, in general are bored with it. There is very little attention paid to shape and set pieces.
  23. I honestly don't know where to start about today and perhaps more worryingly the future. Today was nondescript, tepid and had all the hallmarks of a disinterested bunch, particularly in the first half. To be truthful though I'm not really hurting too much about today but the real worry for me is the future. This has been nearly eleven years in the making but I truly believe that we are going to have even more despair next season. The number of out of contract and loan players who won't be here means that pretty much fifteen players will be needed and given that we don't appear to be offering even average Championship wages we will be really scraping the barrel with our in comings. The ground is in a real state of disrepair, a dwindling number of die hards and rumours of training ground shenanigans again to me paints a bleak future for Rovers. It's incredible really when you consider we were second in the league a few short months ago and a decent chance of reaching the promised land and riches of the PL. Reality has really bitten for me today and I honestly don't have any hopes for the future. FOV
  24. It was Jimmy Mullens wife in a Chinese takeaway iirc.
  25. You'll only be 50% disappointed.
