  1. How on earth can a player be ruled out 48 hours before a match with a slight hamstring twinge. Two days is a long time for the healing process of professional athletes. More nonsense from Mowbray.
  2. Wasn't it Mowbray who promoted Lowe and Dunn when he arrived? Lowe is an ex teammate of Mowbray and Venus from Ipswich you'll be surprised to hear.
  3. I'm not sure where to put this but it was a potential transfer. Sorry if this offends some as it could be a stark reminder of where we were versus the current malaise. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11843087/how-blackburn-rovers-almost-bought-robert-lewandowski
  4. We have been a ticking time bomb since the summer with Mowbrays reluctance to bring in the type of defenders that we have lacked in his tenure. We were always going to be an injury or two away from becoming a poor team. Also I think a lot of the players are simply not able to deliver the quick passing game that Mowbray craves. His excuse this week of having a few different styles of play was frankly nonsense or even if we do we are inept at most of them. It's completely different doing drills on the training pitch to carrying it out in an intense Championship match. My personal feeling is that Mowbray has over complicated things and expects players to do something that is quite alien to most of them. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but the writing is on the wall and if the warning signs are ignored we could well be relegated.
  5. It is about opinions. The ineptitude of his teammates didn't cause him to give the ball away cheaply on several occasions, be regularly beaten in the air and out muscled far too often. In my book he was up there with the worst last night and has done nothing of note so far to give me any indication he will be a big player.
  6. In respect of the signing of Aradabioyo I thought he would be able to play a quick passing game given his background but he was one of the worst last night. So many times his (and many others) not being able to play a simple the yard pass put us under more pressure. He is physically weak and in all honesty no better than Wharton or Magliore. He reminds me of a new born horse whose legs look wobbly when it takes its first few steps.
  7. I was angry at many aspects of the game last night but what pissed me off more than anything was the number of people who clapped the players at the end of the game. I looked around and it wasn't the odd one, there were lots. Mowbray scuttled off down the tunnel.
  8. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17983914.mowbray-feels-rovers-making-progress-season/ I find this another irritating and patronising Mowbray interview. We are generally boring to watch and the possession based football he talks about is in areas where the opposition are happy for us to have the ball. Laughably he credits Holtby for his part in our new way of playing. He has started one game and even then he got the hook. I have seen every game this season and have usually seen mundane, tedious play where possession is usually along the back line, into midfield and back again.
  9. Me too. As a season ticket holder I gave up half way through as I thought it pointless.
  10. I'm going but instead of the usual four there are only two. I expect us to have around four hundred there, probably our lowest ever following at Birmingham. That probably typifies the lack of enthusiasm for Rovers at present.
  11. On the bus going to the game yesterday we never spoke once about the impending game at all which I think is symptomatic of the fact that interest in Rovers is on the wane. The was lots of grumbling in the JW Upper where I sit particularly with his unfathomable substitutions particularly taking Holtby off. I really think the club is coming to a crossroads and a big decision needs to be made.
  12. I didn't say there was anger. I was implying there should be, that he gets an easy ride.
  13. Managers must crave the autonomy that Mowbray has at Ewood. There are owners who don't understand the game, a man he had a hand in appointing as Chief Exec and a passive supporter base. The strange promotion of his number two demonstrates the power he yields. There is no pressure on him as we stumble through games and tread water. Strange tactics, even stranger team selections and substitutions are the norm now as he demonstrates the desperation he has reached. There is no doubt in my mind we are stagnating but the bigger picture is what our errant owners and senior officials will do. My true feeling is nothing as supporters vote with their feet when it should be their voices.
  14. You're not alone mate, I read it exactly the same way.
  15. A curates egg of a performance, lots of good and bad in equal measure and I thought a draw was fair but underpinning all that why the hell did Mowbray take Holtby off? Mowbray has a litany of poor decisions here but that is up there with any. With that went our spark, the one player who could come up with a defence splitting pass was on the bench and our creativity gone. Dack was shocking in the second half and should have gone. And Gallagher ahead of Graham? Do me a favour. The cross of the game from the left came in at the right height and with pace. A good striker thrives on balls like this but we saw it glance off Gallaghers head and our of play. I thought Nyambe was great today and almost played like a winger in the second half. One real concern was how tired some players looked late on. The week off really worked.
  16. Given that this newly created role wasn't advertised and only been announced since they come back I think part of the reason for the trip was to get their blessing. I don't understand why the job wasn't put out there to see who would apply. Of course it's supposition but I really think this is Mowbray strengthening his like by moving his confidante up. I'm struggling to understand why we need such a role now when we haven't had one in Mowbrays tenure.
  17. I'm fully expecting Mowbray to be ultra cautious with us having a lot of the ball in our defensive third. Dack will get frustrated and drop deep. We will concede the first goal and Mowbray will be lost, panic and play an unfathomable system to try and get a goal. And then he will blame injuries. My faith in Mowbray is extremely low.
  18. And asked him about two misfiring strikers who cost £12m and have one league goal between them.
  19. Cheston's 'outstanding candidate' quote when Coyle was appointed. As we was cringeworthy it was downright insulting.
  20. I honestly can't remember what I paid last season but it has recently been £38 as is Leeds. I think it's about time clubs took a stance on behalf of their fans and whilst I have sympathy with fans who pay ridiculously over the odds I hope some fans understand, I know I would if the roles were reversed. Waggott to!d me himself that he was trying to initiate some scheme amongst Championship clubs where there is a maximum price much like the Premier League. I guess he was rebuffed. I just had a quick look at Wednesday's home prices and non members against Leeds in the Kop is £39 and £36 against Swansea. Leeds is category B and Swansea category C.
  21. Mono Tony ??? Like it.
  22. I agree. As somebody who has paid ridiculous prices at Leeds and Wednesday it's something that I agree with although it's not the fans fault. Hopefully fans of both clubs can put pressure on their own clubs to reduce the extortionate prices. I've said before it's ironic that if either club got promoted they would have to charge a maximum of £20. Admission prices need a full review by the authorities mainly due to the huge disparities from club to club. At Birmingham next week the adult price is £15 but at QPR it was double that.
  23. I can't help thinking that the England team walking off and not coming back would have made a much stronger statement (which is what they said they would do). That for me would have put pressure firmly on UEFA to take really strong action rather than the piddling little fines and part ground closures that they think will cure this disease. It's simple for me, Bulgaria should be banned from the next World Cup.
  24. And therein lies a big problem for me Andy. The reluctance of Mowbray to sign strong characters is evident when things don't go right. The two you mention plus a host of others would have busted a few egos from some of our lot. I heard Roy Keane slaughter several England players on Friday and it was music to my ears. However I believe the crux of this problem is Mowbray himself who likes to portray himself as this genial, caring good human being. I really can't see him tearing a strip off an egotistical millionaire who doesn't appear to give one.
