Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.
arbitro replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm still perplexed at that decision. 2-1 down and needing a goal he brings on arguably our most defensive midfielder. The people around me were all commenting on the bewildering decision from Mowbray. I can see Rothwell moving on in January. -
I know Gareth and saw him outside Griffin Park in the aftermath of the Venky/Cheston induced relegation. I asked him about managing Rovers and he said he wasn't even invited for an interview as they chose Coyle (who seemingly was the outstanding candidate). He was with his young son and daughter who both had Rovers shirts on. He didn't sound bitter about the snub from his boyhood ckub. Personally I think he would come here but the absolute reality is that Mowbray is going nowhere.

The second half was played without an assistant referee covering one half of the field. Unprecedented at that level. -

I thought the scoreline flattered us and Mowbray is trying to spin a 2-1 loss into some kind of moral victory. Leeds were streets ahead of us all over the pitch. They had pace, purpose and intensity, all of which Mowbrays team massively lack. He is clutching at straws by blaming the referee (who was weak but not the reason we lost) and he should be looking closer to home. Armstrong and Gallagher were our two worst players but the former seems to be a favourite and the latter a waste of space. I couldn't underground his tactics today as we would press and then stand off which happened randomly and time and time again. We allowed Leeds players to travel long distances with the ball too often and their goals came from that type of situation.I With the international break coming up Mowbray has a big of respite but a huge game against Barnsley up next. I bet when he was spouting his to six bollocks he didn't think Barnsley at home would be a massive, must win game. -

Well done to the Macclesfield first team players who have made it public that they won't be playing today and the team will essentially be made up of the youth team. Reading between the lines it seems like the club weren't going to go public with this. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/36067/11857879/macclesfield-town-to-play-fa-cup-tie-vs-kingstonian-despite-first-team-strike -

I think if he goes all defensive and we sit off then we will lose Matt. Generally away from home we don't press and that's the real worry for me. The best three performances of last season were when we pressed but these were at home (Leeds, West Brom and Derby). Mowbray really needs to understand that we need to stop Leeds playing. -

I don't mind your football postings - it was the hoolie stuff that bored me ?. Hopefully you will be quiet tonight. -

I think our very best chance of a result today will be by pressing high up the pitch and throwing Leeds out of their stride. This was typified in last season's game at Ewood when we played exceptionally well and pressed them with intensity. Their passing game is so important to them and I don't believe that Bielsa really has a plan B. -

Bloody he'll CP Company man, how arrogant is that statement. A chunk of the money you pay goes to the extra security needed because some of your 'fans' can't behave themselves. -
That applies to anybody in the public eye who voices an opinion. If you are a sensitive soul then you are in the wrong game.

Was he Dan Williams who originated from Blackpool but made his money in America? I seem to remember he claimed to be from a family of Rovers fans. I also have a vague recollection that he either tried or did get involved with that lot down the M65. -

It was quite exhilarating after an awful few weeks. It's amazing sometimes how fine the margins can be in sport. Only a few minutes earlier there was probably another line ready to be added to Mowbrays obituary but he has a stay of execution. I was really pleased for Buckley and sincerely hope he gets more chances to start. I think there is a real player in there and from Mowbrays comments he does too.

Aside from the result one of the highlights for me was the run that Nyambe went on before crashing into the hoardings in front of the Blackburn End. Hopefully the shackles can come off now for him irrespective of what position he plays in. The power he has just hasn't been utilised enough for me.

I certainly think that Sheffield Wednesday scoring was a big factor in us winning the game. I also saw Evans being briefed by studying the magic 'folder' but their goal forced a rethink. However it really doesn't matter to me whether it was lucky or great management. I really don't care because the feeling I got when we scored the winner and since then overrides any slight irritation that might have caused.

Sorry I misread your post.

I don't believe that Rob Heyes ever worked for us. He was at Accrington when they got promoted to the EFL and he left (maybe sacked) when he was given long suspension for illegal betting on football. He went to Macclesfield after that and was latterly at Blackpool.

I bet he went trick or treating on Thursday.

Almost as pleasing as the win was that (at last) we showed some bollocks, rolled our sleeves up and came from behind to win. I thought the performance was decent and we deserved the win but I don't think any Rovers fan would have predicted a win after going behind so late in the game. Ultimately we all want Rovers to win football matches and that really is all that matters. We could nitpick about selection, tactics, player errors or whatever but winning overrides all that and Mowbrays failings are being exempted today by me as I enjoy the moment.

Desperation from Mowbray to boost his underachieving £5k misfit. How on earth can it be Gallaghers goal when the header wasn't even on target? It seems like every interview he does now he says something stupid.

Championship season 2019-20

I know you should never be surprised in football but that surprises me. He has done exceptionally well at Nobbers and has the support of the fans and has built a decent side who are playoff contenders. Stoke has become a bit of a poisoned chalice with recent appointments. Still money talks................. -

And it's rumoured that they are stumping up a chunk of his wages. There is also a rumour that as he is a player and coach his wages are not counted towards FFP. -
I really hope that big lump Nuhiu isn't playing for them. He is slow, unskilled and can hardly run but he always manages to cause chaos amongst our defence. I don't like giving predictions as there are usually too many variables but I'm not confident at all going into this game.

I get that. My point was that Keogh has no value and is effectively sacked. The other two who caused the accident are suspended, fined and then free to play. The difference is that the two drink drivers will be worth some money if they are transferred and Derby are protecting that.
