  1. I see that Robins has been nominated for the Championship manager of the year. He absolutely deserves it especially when you consider the pitch problems they had to endure at the start of the season plus the on going ownership farce and he has had no money to spend.
  2. Have we actually scored from a corner this season? I can't remember any. Sky out a graphic up on Friday during the Middlesbrough v Norwich match and I think there were several teams who had or were close to double figures in goals from corners.
  3. I think it's as much about technique as power and he seems to have neither.
  4. I can only think there is some Chilean influence at Villareal because over the four year period at Rovers, one half season aside he has been poor to average. Not putting him up for sale was another huge error and the excuse of 'never met our valuation' is another piece of nonsense from the powers that be. A player is only worth what somebody will pay for him.
  5. One little incident summed up the lack of urgency last night. After a tepid 45 first half minutes the board goes up for one additional minute and we get a corner. Dolan takes the ball to the corner but stands there with it waiting for Morton to literally amble over as presumably he is the only one on the pitch at that time who can take a corner. Morton has to set the ball again and eventually gives it to Dolan and they try and play Szmodics in on the edge of the box. It breaks down but we win another corner and the half time whistle is blown. Morton's corners were shocking last night but surely at that stage of the game we get the ball in or let somebody else take the bloody thing. Rovers infuriate me at times.
  6. In my view he's done here now. Never the bravest for us his backing out of challenges is a real statement from him. Tonight I saw him cowardly turn his back in an aerial challenge rather than be prepared to take a knock. His form has been shocking, more than enough to justify leaving him out altogether.
  7. We'll never know for sure but had Broughton delivered on what Tomasson wanted in January then I really think we would have been comfortable. Instead we are toothless with our two main strikers hardly scoring. I really feel Tomasson has just cause to feel absolutely let down by Broughton and his poor January recruitment.
  8. Frustration doesn't even come close to describing the game tonight. Tomasson has to take a big share of the blame for me. After the best performance for years at Huddersfield there was absolutely no reason to change the team and that disappointed me. His set up was even stranger with only Dolan pressing with Gallagher, Szmodics and Brereton some ten or fifteen yards behind him. The Hull defenders had as much time as they wanted to step forwards and pick a pass. Individually there were some poor performances probably to numerous to name as the slow tempo, sideways football made an unwelcome comeback. Carter and Hyam had the most passes but out of a combined 211 passes 175 were in their own half. A shocking statistic. It was screaming out for change at half time with several strong candidates for the book but Tomasson simply left it far too late to replace under achievers on the night. Gallagher and Brereton were abysmal as time and time again they made poor decisions. I can accept that no players gets it right all the time but tonight they just didn't do anything at all, they didn't contribute anything worthwhile. In the current poll my vote was that we would get in the playoffs. I want to revise that because after tonight my faith has taken a huge bartering.
  9. James Corden's advice was invaluable then. 😂
  10. Hull have sold around 1200 tickets and they can buy tickets at Ewood tonight. That's a good effort considering the kick off time and it's liiiiiiivvvvvvve on Sky.
  11. He was sent off at Everton recently and was/is serving a three match ban. It may be one of those many anomalies that allow you to play in the under 21's if he is still suspended from first team football.
  12. A great comeback from two down to win today in a really entertaining game. Losing at half time by two goals they showed great character and fighting spirit to win but the difference was Sam Burns who came on at half time. He was aggressive, prepared to run in behind and drag his marker about. Edun was excellent in midfield also as he pretty much dominated in the second half after Spurs had the upper hand in the first half. The win gives us a real chance of staying up now.
  13. At this time of the season I look at form and if any teams have momentum and I see out of our group Nobbers. I don't believe there are any foregone conclusions in the Championship as any team can beat any other as happens regularly. Let's get today out of the way, evaluate where we are and move on to the next game. Right now all that matters is winning tonight for me.
  14. The Norwich centre half, Gibson was a guest on Sky last night and is still injured although he said he hopes to be fit for their last match. Hanley is out for the season too which leaves them really short, as demonstrated by shipping five last night. They have to win three of their last four realistically but for me Nobbers are more of a threat to us. They have hit form and don't concede many. One game at a time though and it will be a nervy afternoon today watching the scores come through.
  15. Morton from Liverpool for peanuts? I don't think that will be the case. Irrespective it's about delivering the goods which Archer and Ramsey have done. So for Middlesbrough it's money well spent as it looks like getting them into the playoffs.
  16. I would imagine the loan fees are similar to what we paid for Hirst and are paying for Morton. Our of curiosity I wonder what we are paying for Mola.
  17. Two of Middlesbrough's goals tonight have been scored by loanees. How many goals have our loan players contributed again?
  18. Since Kaminski's poor performance at Burnley he went on to concede 16 goals in seven league matches and as I recall was directly responsible for a good number of them. Pears has conceded 12 goals in 12 league games. I see absolutely no reason for Pears to be dropped in favour of Kaminski. His errors have been fewer and he simply doesn't take the risks Kaminski does when passing the ball out.
  19. There are many damning facts associated with the last twelve years. Two relegations, countless useless managers and executives, millions squandered, a shrinking supporter base and many, many more facts that prove they have been a disaster. You comment about not staying in the Premier League was conjecture to try and justify your point of view. The facts don't lie.
  20. That really has nothing to do with Venkys total mismanagement of Rovers. In fact buying a stable Premier League club for around £40m (iirc) was an absolute bargain. They royally screwed up pretty much from day one and still are. It's only recently they tried to sell the STC for housing and wanted to move the STC to the Academy until there was a realisation that we could lose our Cat One status. Then they set up a new company to buy the STC.
  21. My recollection is that it was only one of them involved, the one who likes mixing with celebrities.
