  1. That is absolutely ludicrous. Players should be judged on not where they originated from but 1) Actual value to the team and 2) Potential resale value. If that's the case we'll soon be losing Wharton when someone twigs how good he is as well.
  2. He really is and imo if we don't see sense, and he is allowed to leave he'll go to a Club higher up in the pecking order than us. Out of the 3 I'd be most tempted to play poker with Lenihan. Rothwell for me is somewhere in-between the other two, may or may not get a better move if someone is prepared to take a gamble on someone who fades out of the game for long periods in exchange for passages of brilliance.
  3. Can anyone explain to me why modern keepers attempt to make saves with the wrong arm? Pears would have found it much easier to save the 3rd if he'd gone for it with his left arm.
  4. It might be, you can't say for certain it isn't. We'll have to wait and see.
  5. I know Mowbray can't be blamed for an all time poor performances from Pears (well, apart from signing him in the first place) but apparently a number of established players weren't at the races today either which is more my point. It can't be pure coincidence we keep losing to sides a division or two below us in the Cups. You can't put it down to bad luck every time. If we go up this season who cares about today? If not, it's something that needs addressing however.
  6. I can't see anyway back for Pears after a horror show like that. A bit of a worry as we're now having to consider whether we need another keeper and we have enough headaches already with the out of contract 3 and considering who else we need to bring in to bolster the squad in general.
  7. I think it's very harsh to knock Dolan because the manager tried him out at RB or RWB. I commented at the start of the game that I hoped Tinkerman Tony wasn't back. I think overall Dolan has done very well overall in his correct position. Pears I agree on, ludicrous signing and length of contract.
  8. Why is Mowbray seemingly incapable of winning a Cup tie - even one against a side from a Division or 2 below us? It can only boil down to attitude, whilst ostensibly he has picked a decent looking side today he obviously doesn't care about the Cups and this attitude transmits itself to the players. If we somehow gain promotion no-one will care less. However if we don't and we collapse to mid table in the remainder of the season I will maintain my stance that he is a poor manager and that he is paid to manage us in 3 competitions and not just one.
  9. It's OK. Nyambe will be VERY easy to replace .............apparently.
  10. Is Kaminsky actually fit but just being rested today? Hard to see any way back for Pears after that.
  11. Strongly disagree. Needed a confidence building win to maintain the momentum and move on.
  12. C'mon, You expect certain standards from a professional footballer.
  13. Quite a social media campaign building up against Nyambe from either new posters or posters who have been members of the site for some time but who have hardly previously posted. I wonder how many analysts the Club employs?
  14. There's no suggestion at all his particular situation is causing unrest in the camp. Unless he is an unpopular figure in the dressing room the others are more likely to be upset or unsettled if the Club wont sort anything out with him and he leaves. I'm not sure either why the argument about Nyambe potentially taking his eye off the ball doesn't apply equally to the other two. The key for me is to have cover available for all of them in the unlikely event that did happen. Getting promoted would increase their worth several times over.
  15. Never wish to see anyone injured but not having him available isn't going to harm us is it? Might also concentrate minds in the search for another striker.
  16. He's done well for them in the past but most managers have a shelf life and there has to be a limit surely? One win by January doesn't cut it. There seems to be a suggestion in that thread that Dyche has allowed the squad to become old and past it and that his tactics are now outdated by PL standards. Looking in from the outside it would seem to be at least equally the fault of the previous owners for failing to give Dyche sensible financial backing. I'd be interested to know what my old mate Chris (Longsiders) thinks.
  17. Agree with all that. Unless a genuinely stupid bid came in for any of them and by that I mean £10m plus we'd be best served in holding firm until the end of the season, seeing if we can get promoted and then re-assessing if we are.
  18. Absolutely spot on. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Risking disrupting the balance of the team and the harmony in the dressing room to sign a player who might not adapt to the English game or like it in England for more than it would cost to give Nyambe what he wants. Mental doesn't even begin to describe it. If however he's coming in purely as cover for Nyambe and we can take a look at him in the meantime and RN is staying until at least the end of the season then we're underestimating Waggott Mowbray and the owners and its probably a very smart move.
  19. They might slip in the shower at home and do themselves an injury or be involved in a car accident on the way to training. No point worrying about it.
  20. I know it's not completely unknown for something like this to happen with certain players but can you name another time where we've been in a similar situation with so many players?
  21. It would be a disaster losing any of them but hypothetically Lenihan is far more replaceable than Nyambe imo. Decent CB's are fairly easy to find but RB's as good as Nyambe are rare as hen's teeth. Rothwell is a very unique sort of player so he would be hard to replace as well as whoever came in, whilst he might be as good overall, wouldn't have exactly the same qualities
  22. Mr J Biz. Unless you know something no-one else does, not once have I seen a suggestion from either side that Nyambe desperately wants to leave the Club or that he will under no circumstances sign a new deal and intends walking out on a free Lucas Neil style. All the suggestion is that the Club and Nyambe simply haven't been able to come to an agreement on a new deal. Now, doesn't the fact that we have THREE key first team players in this situation also suggest that it's a case of colossal mismanagement from the Club in not sorting those deals out early enough rather than one rogue or greedy player in Nyambe's case, or indeed either of the other two?
  23. I would have expected a few more first teamers than that not to be featuring tbf. Credit to Mowbray for playing a relatively strong side, our promotion chances won't be adversely affected by anything we do in the FA Cup, if we don't go up it'll be because we weren't good enough. Is A. Wharton on the subs bench Scott's brother?
