  1. Absolutely unbelievable.
  2. "Arrangements we have with competitor clubs" WTF? What's that then? "We won't stray outside BWD, you do whatever the hell you like?" Sorry, not wanting to shoot the messenger, never heard this before and I can't quite believe it.
  3. Im not sure if there's a case to be made that Jim Arnold was even better than Gennoe, great keeper that he was. Makes you weep seeing the likes of Walton/Wahlsted/Pears and Toth in goal when we've had keepers like Jones, Bradshaw, Arnold and Gennoe in the past
  4. Too much emphasis on whether you're The Judean People's Front or The People's Front of Judea in the last few posts. What matters is what is said to the Club in the meetings and their response to it. If the minutes aren't being released in timely fashion and/or are not being recorded accurately to protect the Club, ( i.e. any dissent not recorded) then that isn't acceptable and just goes to show the box ticking nature of the exercise from the Club's perspective.
  5. I love that lower league team as well. You could watch those players all day and all night! As mentioned above might err in favour of Bailey over Price at FB but also Killer Keeley with Faz at CB. Great pairing
  6. Yeah, hard to leave Bailey out of a Lower League X1. I'd have to fit Tony Field in there as well. The only ex Rover to play with Pele. Lol.
  7. So Bet 365 have us finishing 20 points behind the play offs. Probably about right, but in the unlikely event VI gets it almost right and we replicated last season's finish, +32 wouldn't be far off winning.
  8. The trouble with these clowns is that half the time they don't seem to be able to remember what they've said previously so they're tripping themselves up all the time. Even with the "official" Club statements.
  9. Neil Warnock's formula for winning promotion from the Championship: "You can't have too many (good) strikers." Blackburn Rovers' formula for survival in the Championship: "We can get away with 2 sub 10 goal a season strikers".
  10. Last I saw about Mannsverk he was being linked with a move to Wrexham for £4m. So at non starter for us at that price. Might keep them away from Travis though hopefully.
  11. I can't believe (well I can but it's a bit of a disgrace) we dont appear to have an oven ready replacement for Dolan lined up. We must have known he'd be going for months.
  12. Hmmm.......I think the only thing EVERYONE agrees on is we need a new RW. For me after that I think one striker is desperately needed, ideally two. Cover/competition anywhere else would be nice. And that's always assuming no-one leaves as FB would say. I dont think Brittain will stay personally.
  13. Maybe. I'd say the odds of three out of the four being out for any length of time at the same time are fairly slim. If there's a bit of an overlap use one of the young lads to cover the slack. (Atcheson/Litherland?)
  14. Not having a pop at you as you're not the only one to say it, but we have 4 senior centre backs but only 2 senior strikers. Why is a CB more of a priority than a striker? (I'm guessing the answer will be something along the lines that you only start with one striker these days but nevertheless once Carter is fit, two injuries and/or suspensions in either department leaves us able to cope at CB but without a single striking option and you also need a lot more striking options on the bench, you dont usually bring a CB on to try and change the game) I think 5 CB's is too many personally.
  15. Wash your mouth out! 🙂 On a serious note I think the likes of Batty and Ince are a dying if not extinct breed. Complete all round players and you didn't need two of them to fulfill the defensive midfield role!
  16. VI may have put them in a bit of a spin by saying he didn't like loans. They might have been banking on doing the usual random pick and mix selection of 4-5 loanees at the last minute depending on who was left on the shelf.
  17. It doesn't come as a shock to note that when you sporadically post you have nothing positive to say about this forum.
  18. Agreed. Can't see why either the selling Club or the player would agree to it and reduce their demands. Either he's fit in which case there's no issue or he isn't in which case you either take a slight gamble on his fitness now to beat off other interest in the player and secure his services or cut out the financial risk by waiting until he's fit and there's no issue.
  19. If Baradji was coming in we'd need an absolute minimum 3 imo, him plus a decent RW and another striker.
  20. You'll be having a quiet time of it then.
  21. Why would they agree to that? What would happen if he was fit for selection but we simply didn't pick him?
  22. There's been concrete interest in Brittain, he has seemingly expressed a desire to leave, and we're not standing in his way and have put a valuation on him. But Ok - if you're a member of the flat earth society along with chaddy - you feel free to crack on under that assumption as well!
  23. Shaking it up a tiny bit from one or two of the more obvious names Sir Roger Jones Hird Hendry Samba Le Saux Batty Tugay Brotherston Shearer Bellamy Duff
  24. Wouldn't have Henchoz or Neill anywhere near an all time X1 personally. Edit: Peacock and Henchoz was one of the worst pairings I've ever seen.
