  1. Might as well join in the fun. According to Google Maps Ormskirk to Wrexham 1hr 13 mins/ 52.4 miles Ormskirk to Brockhall Village 53 mins/36.4 miles
  2. I just think you are likely to be disappointed if you think these proceedings will lead to the the immediate or fairly quick removal of Venkys from the Club. The only caveat to that imo is if the EFL decide that any judgment and punishment imposed means that they are no longer "fit and proper" for the purposes of the ownership test. Currently they aren't sending any money over and they seem be labouring under some fanciful notion that the Club can survive in the long run by developing and selling on academy players without investing anything significant on players to begin with. I don't see the lack of funding changing irrespective of what happens with the Court proceedings. Either way they need to go asap and I certainly won't be upset if they get fined gazillions and decide to step aside as you're hoping.
  3. From previous experience I'd imagine it's the latter. Really from the Club's point of view the fact the Court authorised the transfer of funds again and agreed to reduce the amount of the guarantee should be being spun as a bit of positive news. That's obviously assuming they actually intend to send the £4.85m over though. Have said this many times before but by now I think these proceedings are a bit of a red herring. It's quite convenient from the Club's point of view for a large section of the fan base not to be in the loop about what's happening. Said fans continue to labour under the commonly repeated misapprehension that they have to pay double on any funds transferred which makes them feel sorry for the owners and in their mind excuses them from having to fund the Club properly.
  4. Seems like a desperation signing on the face of it but of course if he does end up coming then everyone will give him a fair chance etc.
  5. Agreed. Wilesden's commentary and interpretation of what seems to be going on is especially brilliant. Have the LT even acknowledged there's been another hearing? I may have missed it but scandalous from our so called local newspaper if not.
  6. I'm expecting that in terms of the main investigation Venky's get fined at some point, and before that happens, in terms of the application to get the need for a guarantee removed, it'll either be removed or stay at 50%. Neither of which will materially affect us as it seems they've given up on wanting to fund us properly anyway. If and when the proceedings ever reach a conclusion I can't see them suddenly wanting to fund us as they did previously. In the meantime we'll limp on getting into a worse and worse state. The only hope as I see it is that either any judgment provokes the EFL into deciding they're no longer "fit and proper" for the purposes of owning the Club or the Coalition somehow embarrass or needle them into selling in the interim.
  7. Hasn't come in for any of the dollops we signed in January. And little wonder.
  8. I know you're getting very excited about the possibility the Indian Court will throw the book at Venky's but if anything the investigation against them seems to be tapering off not gaining teeth. The efforts of the ED to prevent funds being transferred have been over-ruled twice and the bond has been reduced from 100% to 50%. Not much to suggest anything other than the current state of affairs and after that their ownership dragging on fairly interminably.
  9. I'd say whatever the League is below Conference level, that's about his standard.
  10. One probably won't be here and the other shouldn't be within a million miles of a professional football Club.
  11. Not sure why you think that unless you thought I meant jumping up and down with glee as opposed to jumping up and down in exasperation. I've seen and heard lots of OTT criticism on social media and the radio. A lot of people are also opposed to his appointment simply on the basis he isn't English. I just want the best man for the job. Short of hiring Pepp or Klopp I think we've done that although I'll concede he's started in rather strange fashion.
  12. I thought he was quite good in that if you were playing one of the "big 4" of the time he would give a much more even handed display than the other referees would and wouldn't just give them every decision. RIP.
  13. Telling he hasn't gone near another managerial job. Knows he's not up to it.
  14. After which he should have been potted. Massively outstayed his welcome after that.
  15. That seems the most likely outcome. Not because they can't send funds but they refuse to send them under the current restrictions out of principle. As such they need to sell up ASAP or we've had it. Even if they do might already be too late to prevent a long barren period far worse than what we've already witnessed so bare is the cupboard.
  16. It is a little bit worrying, if you pick Jordan Henderson at this stage you deserve all you get. However, he's been brought in to try and win a tournament. That's all that really matters. He needs to at least reach the semi final to match Southgate. Probably if you're a big Southgate fan you'll be jumping up and down at these irrelevant performances and results. If like me you couldn't stand Southgate you'll be a bit more philosophical about the situation recognising it's only how we do at the World Cup which really counts.
  17. I don't rate Ismael particularly but do we think it's round about now he's starting to realise he's been sold a pup? Probably needs the work in the meantime though until he can find something else.
  18. It's stating the bleedin' obvious but if you want to be self sufficient you have to speculate a bit on fees to accumulate. We don't seem willing to do the former therefore have no chance of achieving the latter.
  19. The fact you're a Celtic fan has nothing to do with your feelings of course! I can't believe the amount of sympathy Ange got after scabbing possibly the worst game of football I've ever seen in my life. If it were a boxing match the referee would have stopped it on the basis neither party were making a fist of it. If they'd have lost that debacle, (which could easily have happened) no -one would have been lobbying for him to stay. They were diabolical in the League and Ange showed himself to be tactically inept and inflexible in his approach. I don't particularly like Spurs but from their point of view at least they didn't make the same mistake Man Ure did in keeping Ten Hag on and then having to sack him a couple of months later. And whist not great Ten Hag performed a lot better in the League than Ange.
  20. They'll be a lot more ambitious than we would be with whom they're going after. They've also been linked with Steve Cooper.
  21. Even worse. Looks like really tacky cheap knock off stuff with a poor version of the Rovers badge ironed on the front.
