  1. Ah ok. I'll bow to your superior knowledge. 🙂 Thought you'd always said previously they had their "investment" in the Club down at £220m. At £33.5m it's somewhat more attractive especially if Brockhall is included.
  2. Don't think even Roar would get one with his past history..........
  3. Agree with most of your post, but, (if you had the money) would you pay (at least) £55m for it tomorrow?
  4. That's what that over-rated "Championship experience" gets you. "Let's replace them with some relegation specialists from obscure European Leagues. Think of how much money we'll save!"
  5. They really are taking the piss with these. Beamo was a figure of derision back in the day and for many years after his retirement from playing. In later life he was Commercial manager for many years of course and I remember being on the Fans Forum when someone suggested the Club bring out a DVD to commemorate something or other when the team was still good. Beamish's response to that was to pour cold water on it saying - "Who here has a DVD player?" Everyone just looked at each other. Who the hell is picking these nominees? Mowbray, (Buckley - nothing against him per se but come on) and now Beamish. No recognition for the likes of Sid Puddlefoot Howard Kendall and (Sir) Kenny Dalglish. Has Damien Duff been awarded? Next month, Jim Iley, Steve Kean, Bradley Orr and Lucash Neill.
  6. It's a mixture of poor game management, poor substitutions, and inherently poor players without the backbone or fire in their bellies to see the games out. But hey, let's pin all the blame on the officials instead
  7. If they continued to refuse to write any debt off, I'd consider the requirement for any prospective purchaser to give us at least £55m (and rising) an absolute bar to finding new owners. Who'd want to give us that much in our current state? (If we unearthed another couple of Adam Wharton's - maybe) I wasn't even aware of the 25% rule until the Wednesday situation cropped up. Ludicrous imo.
  8. I had a look at the supposed rationale for this rule online and the thinking behind it appears to be the hope than non footballing creditors get a reasonable shake. No good if it all goes to the person/persons who caused the problem in the first place though, it seems a ludicrous rule to me - a reward for bad ownership. According to Simon Jordan the 25% requirement was why his consortium pulled out of the running to buy Wednesday. They didn't fancy handing over a large wedge of money to Chansiri.
  9. So, going off the Sheff Wed situation, am I right in thinking that if the V's were ever to put us into administration, due to the EFL "25p in the pound" rule, any potential purchaser would have to pay them a minimum of £55m? That could be extremely problematic.
  10. A Club in admin versus a Club that are being run like one in admin. This match could end up like two bald men fighting over a comb. I suppose if nothing else, if we get beaten, it will shoot holes in the "Where would we be without Venky's?" argument.
  11. "What is the point of Blackburn Rovers Football Club in 2025/26 other than to pay the wages of Suhail, Rudy and yourself?"
  12. Personally I wouldn't go to this if someone paid me £35, but, it might be useful if someone went along and sneakily taped proceedings in case there are any more gems similar to the "The play offs aren't our priority" comment from Gestede.
  13. Nail hammer head. Miller. There appear to be a few supporters about who are just happy to go and watch the team and aren't particularly bothered about how we're doing (which is of course their prerogative) but I suspect in general they're very much in the minority.
  14. I'd agree almost wholeheartedly with that. Personally Id add Miller to the list of players who are "Not Championship standard" and upgrade Alebiosu slightly to "very good". A pretty dismal return out of ten players. What's Owen's "data" written in - braille?
  15. They got away with it to some extent with another lateish goal. 1-1. Isidor was clean through from the half way line in injury time but failed to convert the winner for Sunderland.
  16. Ah yes. Thanks. At normal speed I initially thought the defender had got something on the ball but on watching the replay, it was a pen and a mistake by the ref. That cost us a point then.
  17. Liverpool currently losing 1-0 at home to Sunderland. Slot starting to push his luck a bit.
  18. Looking at Vince's complaints in detail..... "No pen at WBA" - From memory the incident was extremely early in the game so a real stretch to say that was a pivotal turning point "Gudjohnsen at Watford" - We won, not sure what his point is "Charlton Handball/no pen" - We lost 3-0, not sure what his point is "Swansea no pen" - Don't recall anything particularly contentious "Preston No red card, no penalty on Gueye" - We won, so not sure what his point is on Gueye. Agree on the no red card, was a potential career ender. "Wrexham No foul on Hedges" - Virtually irrelevant either way, we should defend the resultant free kick Ipswich "Red Card/Penalty on Ohashi Most people agree Ohashi wasn't a pen. Imo possible red card but by no means clear cut. Either way the failure to win down yet again to our inability to defend. Nothing whatsoever to do with the officials. Overall a load of self serving twaddle from our so called "leader" trying to divert attention away from his own abysmal performance to date.
  19. Someone should do a version of it with his conspiracy tin hat on.
  20. I was wondering if it caused him to be a bit more cautious surrounding the second.
  21. Thanks for the more measured reply. I've never put anyone on ignore either. Everyone's entitled to an opinion on whether it was a red or not, the interpretation of the guidelines is fairly subjective. A lot have said it was a definite red, a few have said it definitely wasn't I'd fall somewhere in between "seen them given but wouldnt be surprised if it was a yellow either" camp. I wasn't initially taking issue with Arbitro saying it was a definite red, that's his prerogative. I was taking issue with his support for Ismael producing "the list" and complaining of some sort of vendetta against us by referees which in my book is excuse making, nothing more nothing less.
  22. I'd imagine you have to apply that guideline on the assumption all players are of equal ability. You can't award a red if it's Messi going through and a yellow if it's Gueye. Opinions will presumably vary greatly on what constitutes an "obvious goalscoring opportunity" though. If you pull the incident last night back to the half way line would it still be one? Id say not but people might disagree.
