  1. Before he left at least he was a better defender than Brittain. We'd need a good RW but we need one of those anyway with Dolan leaving. Incidentally I noted a site online estimating Nyambe was on 4k p.w. when he was here. No wonder he was desperate to leave. I'd imagine Dolan was on something similar, maybe adjusted upwards slightly for inflation.
  2. Also, it's a football kit, I dont want a pictorial representation of the town on it, but if they had decided that images were essential they should have related to our footballing history, Bob Crompton, Clayton and Duggie, Faz, Simon Garner, Tony Parkes, Jack, Kenny, Shearer etc. Not Darwen Tower and the fucking Wainwright Bridge. They really couldn't have got it more wrong if they'd tried.
  3. In a normal year the home kit would have been OK apart from the changed halves but the lack of reference to the Anniversary is an absolute disgrace. The Green and yellowish kits are absolutely hideous. No proper badge on either, they might as well be cheap imitation knock offs. I completely disagree with the poster above - along with the pink kit last year these are 3 of the worst kits we've ever had. Macron/whoever is picking them need sacking off. Sorry if it sounds like I'm picking on the FF again but did they get chance to pass comment on this year's kits?
  4. We're the last Club to be in a position to complain about that! (Tin hat on) If Eustace was interested in Brittain I'd accept Nyambe (still only 27) plus £2m cash.
  5. What happened to marketing the home kit? If flogging a few extra shirts is the only metric then we should play the opening home game in that horrible dark green kit - that should shift a few more of them. It's a constant dumbing down and erosion of traditions and standards, drip, drip, drip and people appear to be lapping it up. They've already changed the halves on the home shirt, now we're having to play in away colours at home to suit the opposition. I hope any-one who doesn't mind the switch doesn't have the temerity to complain when we eventually unveil a non halved home kit. After all it's only a shirt.
  6. "It's only a shirt". Sums up everything wrong with the Forum. Next stop - " They were only blue and white halves - I'm not sure what you're bothered about" In fact it seems we're half way there already.
  7. Irrespective of whether the three signings are up to the required standard, would you not agree they're in areas where we were already relatively well stocked? (Assuming no-one leaves)
  8. I recall the HSA one. I dont recall the Umbro one without a logo at all. I would still maintain that over the years when we've had a yellow kit the trim has GENERALLY been blue and it is supposed to be an anniversary kit not that the powers that be seem to have bothered about that.
  9. Is the top one not Flowers' goalkeeper jersey? 🙂
  10. How many shirts have we had with yellow and blue trim?
  11. Does the same argument not apply to wearing the new home kit? Anyway, should be great. Dark yellows v Light yellows. "Come on you burnt yellows!" All we need is for the trim to be maroon or claret to cap it off. Even if it's black I can never really remember us wearing a yellow and black trimmed shirt before. When we've had a yellow shirt the trim has usually been blue and rightly so.
  12. I doubt if there's ever been so much speculation on a topic without anyone knowing any of the relevant figures involved. Of course Rovers are bound to be offering him a fair deal and it must just be down to Dolan being greedy. Same as with Rothwell/Lenihan/Nyambe/Brereton/Brittain/Travis/Tronstad/Batth/ Weimannetc. We've obviously just got very unlucky. 10 times. (Edited)
  13. So two teams in their away kit then? Brilliant! I've no idea why the FF didn't object to this in the strongest possible terms. To me it seems obvious our "prestige" home friendly should be used to showcase OUR new home kit. Sod Everton. Non controversial? Really?
  14. It wasn't the player I was disparaging as I know nothing about him. It was the fact we appeared to be wasting ours and everyone else's time with our usual bout of tyre kicking.
  15. According to the Scottish Sun, the offers have been booted out as being " nowhere near" the Club's valuation. Whoever would have thunk it?
  16. Is this not having a proper badge lark going to become a thing on the grounds of convenience and screwing even more profit out of a shirt.
  17. You wouldn't. If it was our decision to debut our new away kit against Everton I wouldn't particularly agree with it but that would be ok. We shouldn't be operating in a way solely to suit Everton though. If they have an issue with their kits, tough titty, that's their problem not ours.
  18. Ah, well that probably explains him taking his time then. After the end of the month it becomes a bit more pressing for him. So from our point of view our failure to offer him a reasonable deal means we lose a good player, possibly for nothing if he moves abroad, AND we have to pay him for an extra month for nothing? Genius!
  19. I bet we won't be saying that by Christmas.
  20. Exactly, the sort of thing Nixon does. Comes up with an unlikely story, then when nothing happens claims it's run into a problem etc. Then whatever happens, he's never wrong. He or she is learning well!
  21. Has anything this person has alleged this summer actually come off? I've lost track. Most of it seems Fantasy Island stuff.
  22. If that's right, that's absolutely horrible, reminds me more of a Burnley away kit from years gone by. Burnt yellow and claret, what possible connection does that have to us? No proper badge on this one either seemingly. They've truly outcome themselves with the shitness of the kits this year. In a major anniversary year as well.
  23. Seems to be valued at E2m on Transfermarket.com. Shouldn't be out of budget per se but if we start pissing about by lowballing the selling club like we seem to do with nearly everyone else of any value we'll probably get nowhere.
