  1. I think 7th to 10th would be a relative success given all the upheaval if you could see definite signs that we were on an upwards trajectory and were improving all the time. But no, of course we shouldn't have ripped everything up and started again, we should have kept Eustace happy and built upon and made a few tweaks to what so nearly worked last season. And also once Eustace had gone, VI was completely the wrong appointment for the remainder of last season. As I said at the time they only needed someone to come in temporarily and keep the hand on the rudder and tell the players how great they were, not someone who wanted to go in a completely different direction. If we'd made the play offs but not gone up then maybe that was a better time for the completely new approach in the close season. Still wouldn't have been my choice but we're stuck with it for better or worse.
  2. I think Mckenna gets an incredibly easy ride off everyone by virtue of his back to back promotions. Yes that was an unbelievable feat, but, they spent a lot of money and were piss poor last season no matter how you try to dress it up. Seems like they've started in similar fashion again this season as well.
  3. It is desperately needed. We have Ohashi, who Id say is more of a number 10, Gueye, who Ismael seemingly doesn't rate and Leonard who has allegedly been frozen out.
  4. He was never coming here at £5m E was he. Bit like that CB Kapuadi who was linked with us early in the window at £4m.
  5. Exactly. The T2000's are a lot cheaper to run than the T1000's to use Paul's analogy.
  6. Hmmm......... "You can't judge without knowing exactly what's gone on" (Fair) But....... "There's no smoke without fire!" (Unfair) Obviously he's a (very) good player for the level we're at, not a great one and the Club will survive without him. We lost Shearer and the Club's still here (just about).
  7. Hypothetically, (as I doubt the above is the case) I'd say definitlely not. But then you're straying into very different realms there than simply running the Club badly. If a Club is "only" being run badly it's down to the disaffected fanbase to shift them not the Authorities.
  8. YES! But that hasnt stopped you obviously!
  9. So if that's the criteria on which we're judging players, Tronstad REALLY isn't that good either then? Can't even drum up any worthwhile interest in him.
  10. It's the only slight criticism I would have of Trav. When he indulges in the shithousery I think it's to the detriment of his own game. When he concentrates purely on the football, great player - at this level.
  11. Feel really sorry for Travis. The Club are actively trying to offload him because he's one of the higher earners yet just to rub salt in the wound the manager has taken the very unusual step of coming out in Public and stating "he's let everyone down" for some unspecified reason. I think from Travis's point of view, maintaining a dignified silence is probably the best thing to do. Just get out of the place without resorting to stooping to the Club's levels.
  12. In devil's advocate mode: You can't (and don't want) authorities intervening because Clubs are being run badly per se. Clubs have be left to live and die (figuratively speaking) by their own mistakes or good management. It's only when their viability starts to come into question that the Authorities should intervene. Manchester United were atrocious last season and finished way below where they should for a Club of that size. Does that mean the Authorities should have intervened?
  13. Not aimed at you specifically, but I swear some people would prefer it if we signed Usain Bolt in his prime over Tugay in his prime. Pace is useless unless you can do something with it.
  14. Exactly - a spirited defence of the regime of the sort we've come to expect at around this time every transfer window from Mr. Mani. But you can summarise it all by saying the alleged "upgrades" (the T2000's) are slightly cheaper to purchase and a lot cheaper to run than the originals (the T1000's)! Will it work? Who knows? I doubt it myself, I think we're more likely to end up in League 2 or lower than achieve any success. But you can see why we seemingly had trouble sourcing a new manager before we happened upon VI who was happy to work under these conditions. "So Gary" (O Neil) "What we're going to do is get rid of all the established players with Championship experience and use a Moneyball type approach to source value out of players such as ones who have just been relegated from the more minor European Leagues." "Gary?" "Gary?" "You still there Gary?"
  15. So.....we could have had a very productive window in terms of sales once Travis goes. Brittain c£3.5m Travis c £4m if Wrexham get him. Buckley and JRC c £1m each. c £9.5m.
  16. I think Tony makes a fair point. The players you list aren't Premier League level but they're good level Championship players and relatively speaking have some sort of affinity for the Club which always helps. Of course if their replacements turn out to be better it matters not one jot where they come from but that remains to be seen.
  17. He's one player, if he could refind his love for the game, I wouldn't mind us having a buy back option on because there is a real talent in there somewhere, his main problem seems to be the six inches between his ears.
  18. Ah OK thank you. If you say so! I just dont get the concept of Twitter/X at all or understand why on earth anyone would possibly want to be on it. Unless you're on there for monetary purposes earning an income.
  19. Im sure you have the facility to put me on ignore if you dislike my posts that much.
  20. Ah, got you. Thank you I dont understand why if it's a Twitter/X post from Rovers aimed at the general fan base it's necessary to send it to Buckley personally, it's hardly a glowing tribute written straight from the heart. I'll leave it there though, Im sure there'll be a lot bigger things to complain about soon as Emerald says.
  21. Then you get people coming on here moaning about people moaning for no apparent reason. Obviously, it's by no means the most important thing you could complain about but to me it's just symptomatic of the lack of class running throughout the Club. They just can't seem to strike the right note with anything.
  22. I've no idea what you just said there. 🤣 "Tag him" is he wearing an ankle bracelet or something? Why can't they just call him "John"? Sorry for being a saddo old person who doesn't use Twitter or X or whatever its called now.
