  1. It would appear certainly that one of the reasons Waggott brought him in is that he will keep his head down and not be openly critical like JDT was. Again I have no particular issue with that but IF and only if he gets results.
  2. His interviews are a bit soundbitey granted but I couldn't care less as long as he gets results.
  3. Yep, he seems well up for the "model" of developing players and flogging them on for a profit but even if you think that model is a good idea, Szmodics apart, none of his signings fall into that bracket. Anyone could be lucky enough to inherit a generational talent like Wharton and turn a profit, but look at the total amount we've received as well for the 2 "crown jewels" Phillips and Wharton. Absolutely pitiful.
  4. It's all a bit "meh" isn't it. It sounds like we're now a dreadful watch but nevertheless Eustance has managed four points from his three games in charge. If we'd stayed with JDT and lost those three games, which is a distinct possibility, we'd be sat just one point above the bottom 3 now. What I don't understand is how we've managed to coach any creativity out of the side within 72 hours of Eustace taking over. Are players SO one dimensional they can't continue to do those things they were actually doing well under a new Coach? Needs must this season I guess. Whether this is sustainable in the long run is a different matter.
  5. Just noticed Fleck lasted a grand total of 17 minutes. What a fucking joke. Stoke saw Broughton coming with that one.
  6. I hope no-one booed them off at half time. The likes of our "Captain" Dominic Hyam might take their bat and ball home and flounce off in a huff.
  7. Have the opposition EVER scored a goal against us which wasn't a foul in your eyes?
  8. Based on what? Presiding over the fucking up of the OBrien, Brierley signings and the Mcguire loan? Signing Hirst, Ennis, Telalovic and Wahlstedt? Having us hurtling towards relegation? Yeah, that'll be doing wonders for his reputation!
  9. He SHOULD be.... but I bet he isn't. As simongarnerisgod says it'd be like turkeys voting for Christmas.
  10. It's important that everyone gives Eustace a fair crack of the whip and is not biased against him because he was allegedly Waggott's pick. However by the same token I think it's important he is careful what he says and doesn't come out with too much nonsense like the comments about Gallagher. If he comes out with too much PR fluff and completely fails to tell it how it is, the fans will quickly see through it and might turn.
  11. JFHC it's not all I ask for from a centre forward - his job is to score goals! And if even the coach thinks two more goals from him in the final 15 games is the most we can expect (and even that may be too much of an ask) then we really are fucked. But then we knew that at the start of the season going into it with him as main striker. The chickens are coming home to roost. BTW I remember Souness referring to Martin Taylor (who I really rated) as "son in law material". Only Souness wasn't being complimentary.
  12. I would have fancied us for this with JDT in charge, now I can't muster up any enthusiasm for it at all. Expecting a right tonking on the evening even if arguably Eustace might be more likely to grind out a few results in the League.
  13. Bit harsh. If any manager gets worthwhile money to spend then we'd be better off than if he didn't. Having GB spending it would worry me though. Szmodics apart it's been a pretty sorry tale. All likely to be an academic argument as its likely to be loans and frees until they resolve their issues with the Indian authorities imo. That's if they ever do.
  14. Wow. I think that would be a massive gamble relying on that combination. It would be great if Buckley ever blossomed into the £10m player he was being touted as a few years ago but there's not much sign of it yet. Similarly, Garrett has promise but still has it all to prove and there are major questions over JRC's fitness.
  15. The key question that everyone needs to be asking and getting an honest answer to is: Will the owners be going back to Court in March as originally envisaged to ask for permission to transfer more money for funding? Or will we just rely on the first installment of the Wharton money to tide us over? I expect the latter. Then come June the Raya money plus another modest sale should tide us over for another four or five months. Rinse and repeat. Either way given an embargo was seemingly placed on permanent transfers for money whilst Mcguire was mid flight, I cant see there being any change to that policy unless unless the owners resolve their issues with the Indian Authorities.
  16. Same here. Off the top of my head I'm sure there have been a few games where he has come on and seemingly been just about the only one who's looked up for it or emerged with any credit.
  17. So when JDT didn't rate Travis, you didn't either and were quite happy for him to be loaned out. However now it seems Eustace rates him more highly you suddenly think Travis is OK and are happy to have him back?
  18. Indeed. JDT asked for "experience" and Broughton provided a crock and a guy with one foot in the grave in footballing terms.
  19. Let's hope he can achieve that chaddy. Birmingham supporters appeared to be of the view his style of play was dull to say the least. Which is OK IF you're getting results playing like that.
  20. It's all very good trying to run on tuppence ha'penny and an old Mars bar wrapper but there are only so many relegation scraps any Club can survive before they fall through the trap door. Waggott is probably aware of this but everything he's done since he's been at the Club seems to have been designed to downsize everything. He's probably hoping to eke it all out just long enough until he retires then he can sail off into the sunset never to be seen again with a bank account bursting at the seams and a rotting carcass left behind him.
  21. Nothing against Eustace, nor am I a fan of the previous model of playing a certain style of football for the sole purpose of flogging players at a profit, however it does seem odd that we've gone from one polar extreme to the other. You'd have thought a more logical move would have been to get someone in with a not too dissimilar mindset to JDT but with the ability to dig in when necessary. It could end badly in the short term, however in view of the turmoil surrounding the Club I don't suppose we had too many options. I'm quite surprised Eustace came really, although unfortunately from his initial comments it seems he's happy to keep his head down and not comment on off field shenanigans, and work under whatever circumstances are thrown at him.
  22. No way is he voluntarily leaping off the gravy train. We did say that anyone with any integrity would be walking out after that transfer window and I correctly predicted one only (JDT) would be leaving.
  23. Can't believe we sold him so cheap. We must have been desperate, hope there's an extremely meaty sell on clause.
  24. Didn't someone say at one point that former head of commercial Paul Fielder's "plan" was to allow the Riverside to fall into disrepair in the hope that it would be condemned and that the Council would offer a grant towards replacement? With people like him and Waggott running the Club what hope have we got? I don't know where we find them
