  1. It was probably more Waggott and Venus. Mowbray was there for a while though I think. Kept them up initially then bombed when handed the job permanently
  2. Not shooting the messenger but about the same as Dolan then and most people reckoned he was crap?
  3. Surely in the general scheme of things another left sided player is the last thing we need with Kargbo, De Neve and Hedges already on the books? (Albeit the latter two are crap)
  4. Ismael signing a player who is 5 ft 6? BS alert.
  5. Interestingly Waggott was a SISU appointment. I reached out to Coventry fans for their thoughts when Waggott was trying to flog Brockhall. Suffice to say they weren't very complimentary about the Coventrio. And that old goat Mowbray got honoured here the other week as well.
  6. Whatevever's happening at Coventry, they seem to be going in the right direction. It was widely reported yesterday they finally owned their own ground again. High profile appointment in Frank etc. So something must have worked.
  7. And in this comparison you paid ยฃ200k for the Skoda and it costs as much to maintain as a Roller.
  8. Well, its seems to me it's just a deliberate clear out of the higher earners rather than any sort of strategy based on footballing criteria. Whether or not it's a stroke of genius or we end up in League 2 or lower we'll have to wait and see. Very premature to be describing anything going on at the Club at the moment as "common sense" Id say.
  9. No idea who this bloke is but we need an out an out winger not a RB who can fill in on the RW etc.
  10. I used to think it was Waggott getting you to say all this sort of stuff on behalf of the Club. Obviously it wasn't.
  11. There's definitely a player in there. The problem is is he varies from looking virtually unplayable as at West Brom under Lowe to looking like he's never seen a football before, there seems to be very little in-between with him, very few solid 7/10 performances. The key is unlocking the WBA version on a regular basis. That said if you could do that he probably wouldn't be here in the first place. Edit: Don't see much future for him under VI. VI seemingly doesn't rate him and Gueye knows it and has sort of sagged as a result. We can't let him go without a better replacement coming in though, we're already bereft of options up front. Not sure how he can jettison Leonard either really without giving him some sort of chance but that appears to be the way that ones going as well.
  12. Hypothetically if we could sell Hyam for (say) ยฃ2.5m, get another performer of the quality of Mclaughlin in for ยฃ500 k and reinvest the profit up front it'd be a cracking bit of business. However Mclaughlin was probably a one off due to Hull's woes and any profit probably wouldn't be reinvested so as with everyone else - probably better keeping them.
  13. I was wondering whether to make a tongue in cheek post about whether Cantwell had heard a whisper he might be in with a chance of a move this window. Glad you beat me to it with something similar!
  14. You're the one completely missing the point. Cantwell was absolutely shite last season and was also frequently unavailable through various alleged called minor injuries. Today he showed what a quality player he is and what he is capable of when he puts his mind to it. We need to see that version of Cantwell every week not the lily livered half arsed version we saw last season. Strange how quickly opinions on players change, when he was mysteriously absent v West Brom everyone assumed he was on his way and at that point hardly anyone was shedding a tear. He was even shite against Bradford. Now one good game and one exceptional one and he's the greatest player in the world. Im actually one of those guilty of quickly changing camps. Im really looking forward to seeing what he can do this season IF he can keep that up.
  15. Yeah because there's been absolutely no difference between Tugay and Cantwell in his time here, the last couple of games excepted. ROFL.
  16. I do tonight as well. Got Arsenal -1 on the handicap.
  17. I like Gueye but he was very poor when he came on today. I think he's a confidence player and needs to feel loved and I get the impression there's no chemistry between him and VI - dont think he'll thrive under Ismael. Im sticking to what I've been saying all summer we need 2 strikers and a decent RW and we'll probably end up with someone at loan right at the last minute in the latter position.
  18. Looks like it might be a bunfight between Potter and the Wolves manager for 1st PL managerial sacking. Good win for Keef. Something seems to have happened to Villa. Frank making Postecoglu look a bit of a mug already.
  19. What makes anyone so sad they feel the need to do that?
  20. I think that's a bit of a stretch to say at this stage - we've just had very one good game but before that lost three others on the bounce, the first two deservedly so and the second of those two at home against League 1 Bradford. Excellent today though, let's hope we can keep it up.
  21. Great performance - first time all summer I've not been convinced we're going down without a whimper. I've been one of Cantwell's major critics but that was one of the best performances I've seen from anyone in a Rovers shirt for a long time. Hedges very good also - they've set the bar for their performances now and need to stick to it, not revert to type. Well done to players and Ismael who I've also dished out plenty of stick to - by far the best game under his tenure imo - we need a lot more of the same.
  22. Looks like he likes a yellow card though, is that two in two games? Must have said something.
