  1. Miller's fucking useless. Good job Toth bailed him out.
  2. I thought Chris Taylor was a good player.. Different class completely to Se Neve.
  3. Stone the crows, you can hear a pin drop.
  4. All his articles have been basically brown-nosing since the "ban". Can't see that it's made any difference whatsoever to the reporting tbh.
  5. If you can explain what the significance of the Maltese Cross is to the Football Club I'm open to being convinced otherwise.
  6. Think Im right in saying it started out as a "slight knee injury" then escalated into "ten days" last time we heard.
  7. Why are you fixated on a Maltese Cross? It looks like we HAVEN'T used one since at least 1892 so Im not sure why we need it now. A nice shirt in blue and white halves of some hue with a quality badge similar to the 1975 one marking the anniversary would have done for me. None of which we look likely to get.
  8. You know the answer already but the advantage of a protest for this game would be that there will somewhat more attention on this fixture than usual due to the occasion. Add into that it's on Sky, the Eustace factor, and the fact it already seems to be a relegation six pointer. Just so we know where we stand, are you opposed in principle to protests before, during or after any game or just this specific one?
  9. There might be a few plastic snakes in attendance though.
  10. Eustace managed it. And the silk purse was turned into even more of a sow's ear with Ismail's full blessing.
  11. They've got a better squad, better manager (having reappointed Wilder) and will be buoyed by their win at weekend surely?
  12. Im new to this thread so several years out of date replying but agreed. The roads above Sacted Heart School are at a 45 degree angle up to Revidge Rd so the ground couldnt possibly havee run up that way all the way to Revidge Rd. If there is some accuracy to the drawing provided the ground must have been situated roughly where Leamington Rd Church is,running up parallel with New Bank Rd up towards Sacred Heart School with New Bank Rd on the bottom left and Higher Bank St and Revidge Rd and the Dog Inn on the right and at the top in the distance respectively but further away than they look to be on the drawing. Edit: On further examination there looks to be a slight incline beyond the far side of the pitch so again if thats accurate it's conceivable it's the area at the top of the bottom part of New Bank Rd and Leamington Rd up to St Silas's Rd. There's no way the ground could go beyond that imo.
  13. Another picture from 1892/93 indicating we were playing in lighter halves than today with not a Maltese cross in sight So since at least 1879 we've been playing in blue and white halves of some sort with no apparent sign of a Maltese Cross since at least 1892. Which genius came up with an idea for an all white commemorative strip with a Maltese Cross?
  14. Difficult to picture where the Leamington St. ground would have been as it's very hilly round there. Somewhere by the site of Leamington Rd church at the bottom Id guess.
  15. Ken Beamish's shirt from the last game of the 1974/75 Division 3 Championship season v Wrexham. A commemorative shirt done properly as they say on the Yorkshire tea ads. If we could do it 50 years ago, why can't we do it now?
  16. I expect a heavy defeat tomorrow night and a point at best against Southampton. Following which at any normal Club Ismail would be receiving his P45.
  17. I a I acknowledge most people don't detest Mowbray as much as I do. Whilst I think he's a poor manager my dislike of him mainly comes from the fact that imo he was only here to chug along for a few years feathering his own nest. In the days when the owners still retained a bit of enthusiasm to succeed Mowbray wasn't interested. Years ago we all suspected the owners would give up the ghost eventually and predictably now, we are where we are, and for me Mowbray wasted the last realistic chance we had of doing anything under this regime. Don't expect you'll agree so Im not going to go back and forward on it.
  18. Bit like on Saturday. One of the 2 Rovers commentators said "If we win our 2 home games this week we'll be flying up the League". Like that's going to happen when we're nearly in November and havent even won a home game yet. Let alone two. The level of delusion surrounding the Club is breathtaking.
  19. Depends on your definition of "success". Im not sure any manager could get this group in the top 6 but there are probably loads around who could keep our noses above water as opposed to sinking us in record quick time as Ismael seems on course to do.
