  1. 100%. Unbelievable in 93-94.
  2. Fairly simple point - thought we were discussing whether we were weaker or stronger than last season - on the assumption Brittain is going to be sold - you need to be comparing the new bloke to Brittain not JRC who never played.
  3. Why are you comparing the new bloke with JRC when Brittain played 33 times last season?
  4. Hardly relevant in any case if/when Brittain goes. We'll be weaker at RB as well.
  5. I think it's a massive stretch to automatically assume there's huge improvement in either of them just because it's their second season coming up. They both performed quite creditably last season imo without absolutely ripping the Championship up, and the most likely scenario is they'll perform roughly the same again, maybe with a very slight improvement to reflect the season under their belts but again that's pure supposition. Out of the two, I'd say Gueye has the most potential for major improvement, I'd say Ohashi has been playing at more or less his limit.
  6. If you're going to try and hide behind the word "context" the actual context is we weren't exactly prolific last season and since then we've lost 14 goals out of the squad which haven't as yet been replaced. The rationale for this seems to be that even though we've seen no signs of it whatsoever so far, once the season starts proper, we're going to play some glorious brand of "Vi ball" which will miraculously turn Ohashi into a 20 goal per season striker and have the rest of the team chipping in from all over the pitch which they've never done previously. It might happen but it seems a bit pie in the sky to me. Or maybe to be be more accurate "Vi in the sky".
  7. We haven't signed a striker, and are seemingly hoping two will be adequate to see us through a 46 game season yet somehow we're "stronger" in that position than last season? I've seen it all now. Not even chaddy would have the front to come out with that one. Lol.
  8. That's ignoring the fact that we've lost 14 goals put of last season's squad from Dolan and Weimann which. with 12 days to go before the start of the season, haven't been replaced.
  9. Blimey, Endean was terrible! If Rogers was as good as everyone describes we didnt half get shafted on that deal.
  10. Yeah my thoughts as well would be that it might have been thought Travis and Tronstad were leaving at one point. Wrexham are now allegedly interested in one of the guys the guy we were interested in ( whose name escapes me) for £4m and ( Tin hat on) there never seems to be much interest in Tronstad so we might be safe for a bit.
  11. Before my time but Britt was the one that rang a bell on this for me having read about it. Who was the player we bought and sold on immediately for a profit?
  12. According to AI career earnings just shy of 32 m US dollars roughly one third of which came from a lengthy stint on the PGA tour and two thirds from a much shorter time on LIV. Which goes to show how much more they get for not doing a great deal on LIV.
  13. It's great actually. This is exactly the sort of publicity we need. Who knows who might be watching his final round in the U.S. who might be wanting to buy an English football Club and are wondering "What the hell is he wearing?" 🙂
  14. He's fallen off the radar for me a bit having joined LIV. He was a solid enough player when on the PGA tour and I'll certainly be rooting for him in future.
  15. Yes, I mean it must have been something he was unaware of which hadn't been causing him any problems. Albeit, it was the close season. Think most of us will agree this one ain't happening despite Jackson desperately trying to keep it alive.
  16. Ok then, to summarise, Summer 24 was imo quite a good one given we had limited funding. However I think you can largely disregard that for future purposes as John Park was still here then. I would still maintain January 25 was a disaster. We needed major reinforcements and got none. I'd even argue Ribeiro is quite a downgrade on Beck.
  17. Sorry, disagree with your post completely. In January the squad was running on absolute fumes and needed a major refresh to keep us in play off contention. I'd say the window was nothing short of a disaster. The marquis signing Kargbo went down with a serious injury after 2-3 games, barely anyone else who came in was match fit, only Ribeiro made any sort of contribution whatsoever and the manager walked out on the back of it. This window we've lost Batth and Dolan who were first team staples, Weimann who was a decent squad player and Brittain is likely to go as well. Mcloughlin might be an adequate replacement for Batth, other than that the guys who have come in are completely unproven. And that's the best case scenario, assuming neither Travis or Tronstad leave. As it stands at this precise moment I'd say it's another near disaster but Im sure Tommy will be along in a minute to remind me "It's a good job it's not the end of the window then!".
  18. The only ones of those who were proven Championship players before they arrived were Brittain Hyam Mcloughlin and arguably Cantwell.
  19. At this point I've lost track of whether these are serious responses or "That's nothing. After (insert game) he ate 2 babies and spat out the bones" etc.
  20. I find James Wade quite an odd player. He's generally a one treble per visit merchant which shouldn't really be good enough to trouble the very top players these days but somehow he always seems to drag his opponent down to his level and often manages to pull off a decent finish to nick a leg he's been behind in. If Littler is on his best form tomorrow it'll be a slaughter but I wouldn't be surprised if Wade makes it scrappy and the match ends up reasonably close.
  21. Ah OK- that would make more sense. Strange thing to post.
  22. I'd be really surprised if Brittain was still here by the end of the window. Bit of posturing going on at the moment re price but I think we know what'll happen, he'll go late on in the window and as likely as not we won't get a replacement.
