  1. He's guessing - nobody actually knows what is going on at the club, which is the most frustrating aspect. Talk to the fans. Give them the basic courtesy of telling them what's going on. Oh, and how we managed to cock up 3 x fee transfers in the last year (yet all outgoing deals and free transfers in went through fine).
  2. We saw that he had a bit of talent, just never off the treatment table. And in the few appearances where he was, he looked overweight (for a professional sportsman).
  3. If we were awful, but winning games against the teams around/below us, nobody would care one jot. But we're awful AND being beaten, struggling to draw against those sides. We needed a Warnock/TM/Big Sam type to get us over the line this season, then review options in the summer. We got a rookie who has shown nothing so far, nothing to suggest things will improve and he's apparently telling the fans to 'fuck off' at the end of matches...
  4. There was a very real chance of it happening last time, but TM (in fairness to him) did a very good job of reuniting and rebuilding aspects of the club. Gets forgotten sometimes, but the role he played was absolutely vital. We now have nobody at the club who is capable of turning this nosedive around.
  5. The bookies have shifted our odds. I put a bit on us to go down when JDT walked and I can currently make a chunky profit by cashing out. But I'll let it run; if nothing else, it'll be a small consolation prize in May.
  6. I wasn't convinced when he came in and I've seen nothing to change my mind. And the most worrying aspect is that he had the perfect run of games to start his tenure with a few wins. We've not just failed to win any of those, but we've been awful to watch (Newcastle aside). No excuses.
  7. What the club paid for Gallagher and how much the club agreed to pay him weekly is not his fault, nor should he be judged by it. He should be judged by performances - and today, he was nowhere near the required standard. Several good opportunities were wasted either by poor decisions or poor positioning. Also see Dolan, T.
  8. Oh I agree - I don’t think GB is either to blame or ultimately responsible. I expect Waggott to coming out and explain exactly what happened. GB took the bullet last time, even thought it was clear that the fault wasn’t his. It’d be unfair for him to take the blame a second time. The longer the silence, the more likely it is that something sinister went on.
  9. Can we not just let Damien Johnson look after the team for the rest of the season? Found a way to beat Stoke, who were no worse than most of the sides we’ve faced under JE.
  10. I find this disgusting tbh. They expect us to just forget it happened and hope it’ll be brushed under the carpet. Literally nothing in terms of explanation or accountability. I manage quite a large team in my day job and the absolute basic level of courtesy or customer service I instill, when something goes wrong, is hands up, transparency and a full explanation (as well as what we’re doing to prevent it from happening again). The club is rotten.
  11. Especially that Scouser. Like fingernails on a chalk board.
  12. Completely agree with this. We were leaking goals for fun under JDT, but I felt we’d turn it around. Now, we’re just dreadful front to back.
  13. I’d have to check their results, but I’m sure they won an early game under him. Better than what we’ve managed in several games under JE so far.
  14. We are absolutely dreadful. JE must have the worst ‘new manager bounce’ in history. At least we’ll win a few matches in League 1 next season.
  15. I thought everywhere looked as full as they have for some time, even down in the corners of the JW. Exception being the Walkersteel, as ever. But c22k will about right - spare pockets around the ground, top tier of the Blackburn End and the gaps in the Walkersteel would add up to c7k-8k.
  16. I'm not sure how much he's been able to influence in such a short space of time, with minimal time on the training ground. I'll remain hopeful, but I'm not convinced either way just yet. JDT spent 18 months embedding and implementing a style of play, which we saw work particularly well against a few Premier League sides - so last night wasn't a massive surprise for me. You'd hope that it'll be a tweak of how we've been playing, to make us more pragmatic and maybe even reactive to the opposition. Poor start in the league so far (against some of the worst teams in the division), but hoping last night's performance could be a spark for us.
  17. Agreed and I've been saying this for years. A packed Ewood benefits everyone, not least the boys on the pitch. I find it absolute madness that we wouldn't do everything possibly to full the ground.
  18. I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster with Pears. When he was number 2 to TK, I always said he was a decent backup, despite the odd clanger. Then, as first choice, he dropped a few more and I was pleased to see us bring in Leo. But since returning from injury, he’s barely put a foot wrong. Last night was the best GK performance I’ve seen from a Rovers stopper in as long as I can remember. Immense. That double stop at the end was worth the entrance fee alone.
  19. I thought literally everybody played well tonight, but Pears and Wharton were exceptional. Having a bigger crowd can’t have done any harm either, just a shame the club can’t attract 20k-25k more regularly - you can’t beat that kind of atmosphere. What’s important now is we take any confidence from that into the next league game. Oh and really pleased with Markanday’s Poundshop Messi impression, thought he was excellent.
  20. What is this refereeing? If he’s not got a Newcastle bias, he’s he’s doing a good job of pretending. I thought we’d given up when Buckley and Dolan came off, but we finished the game really well. Why don’t we play like this in the league?
  21. Surely the only way to approach this is 'nothing to lose / no pressure / go and play your game' rather than any kind of parking the bus tactic. We're almost certainly going to lose either way, so we might as well give it a go.
  22. All bias aside, surely Rovers would be a more attractive proposition than Brentford? Brentford have a few years of Prem money in the bank, granted, but for facilities, history, potential, you'd take Rovers. As a rebuild project, it wouldn't take too much time or money to get us back to the level Brentford are currently playing at.
  23. I must admit, I agree on this. He sounds a very, very young lad and I'm all for giving people a shot, but he's not cut out for it. Just doesn't have the voice. Which, for a stadium announcer is like a boxer not having arms or a swimmer being aquaphobic.
  24. As shite as the match has been, I think Pears and Pickering deserve a bit of credit. Pears has made some good saves and has looked generally pretty solid. Pickering has shown us what we've been missing at LB/LWB, including the assist from a set piece.
  25. I'm sure I saw that Vale had scored 2 in 2 since joining (insert random Scottish team here). But yes, Gilsenan needs to be given a shot in the side - can't do much more.
