Rovers Rumours & Speculation
Andy replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
100% agree. They clearly think that the whole thing will blow over if they close their eyes and put their fingers in their ears. It will not. The fans deserve an explanation. -
Good bloke, fingers crossed it's something that is fixable.

John Eustace - our head coach

After the last hearing was postponed for what was effectively a village fete, I'm not confident it'll even go ahead. And if it doesn't, where that leaves the club is anyone's guess. -
Thought he looked good tonight, a level or two above Ayari and Garrett.

My stream died for 5 minutes at one point of the 2nd half. Genuinely the most enjoyable part of that game. Dreadful. -

I thought Chrisene was ok against Stoke, but since then - especially tonight - he’s been very poor. I can’t believe that Batty would be any worse. Garrett really poor on the ball tonight, glad he’s just been replaced. -

Quite possibly the worst half of football I’ve seen in recent memory. Both sides have been horrible, can’t even do the most basic tasks. Mildly amusing listening to the Cardiff commentators, saying what a great first half performance it’s been for them. -

Disagree with this mentality. Ie: I'm older than you, so I'm a superior supporter. It's obviously bollocks. I didn't choose when to be born, so the early 90's is the furthest back I go. That doesn't make me any less of a supporter than someone who happened to be born earlier than me. -

I must admit, I did think the same whilst watching on Sat. I don't know too much about him, prior to joining us, so not sure if he's a stocky lad naturally or he's carrying weight. -
Well worded and sums up how I feel. Best will in the world, Eustace is another middle of the road plodder; another Mowbray. JDT (to me) represented a chance to do something different. A proper style of play / identity. Some ambition, some optimism that he might drag the club - kicking and screaming - to an upwards trajectory. But now he's gone, the best I can feel about the club is ambivalent. When Preston's goals went in today, it barely registered with me. That situation is usually a gut punch, but now it's just...meh.

I think that's a bit harsh. He was terrible today, but he has had some good performances further up the pitch this season, most recently away at WBA. I think there's more of a player there than the likes of Lowe and Travis, to be fair. -

If Leo concedes that 2nd goal (an own goal, no less), everyone loses their shit. We are just too easy to play against. -

Was she not the female protagonist in the Terminator films? I mean, if she can press 'send' on a webform submission, then she's technically more skilled and competent than the incumbent. -

He was fine against Stoke, but B'ham was concerningly bad. As in, I genuinely think having me at LB would have been an improvement. -

I'm hoping that at least one of them are currently working their notices, departure timed with GB's intention to speak to the media. Based on nothing other than my hope, but surely the Club Secretary's role is untenable after 3 massive cock-ups. Last year's in particular likely cost us a top 6 place minimum. Gross (repeat) incompetence. -

If you're within 2 points of the top 6 in December, that is objectively good performance for Rovers. Whether you liked the performances or not is irrelevant. It's the horrific run that came after that point that's left us where we are. -

Based on Birmingham, one of the worst teams in the division, comfortably turning us over last night, I can't see how we'll take anything from the Nobbers. It would be the most Rovers thing ever for us to go and win 4-0, but hard to see us even getting a point based on recent form. -

Dolan can't be on £600 a week, surely. Most of us would be earning more than him. Might have been whilst in the Preston youth setup, but he'll be on a lot more than that now, you'd expect. -
Sacrilege, that. 1 2 5 6 3 7 4 8 11 9 10

I do recall Trav having a very good spell after coming back into the side last season, playing a bit further up the pitch. QPR away (with that wonder assist) was one of those games. He is technically limited and isn't as good as a '4' as Trondstad is, but I'd keep him around next season as a squad player. Does seem to be a Eustace-type player and can cover fullback as well.

This is a fair point - JDT wanted that experienced Batth/McFadzean type at the back and had been very vocal about it. As much as I enjoyed the win today, you still know what lies ahead for us, as long as the Raos are involved. Will give some (more) credit to Pears, thought he was generally good and the penalty save was excellent. He's come back from injury looking a lot better than before it. -

That 3rd goal was as beautiful as anything we’ve seen under the era of tippy tappy football. Goal kick, flick on, finish. -
It's times like this that I wish I was a drinker. Eustace is probably about as good as we were realistically ever getting (presuming Big Sam was never happening), but I can't help feeling that it's just...same shit, same outcome, different day. For his faults, JDT had that sprinkle of something special about him - and that's what gave me hope. And the club are clearly trying to distract us from whatever shenanigans went down on deadline day. Make no mistake, that was 100% not an admin error/oversight. Not 3 times in 12 months. Not a single chance.

That *was* the January Window

This is the key bit for me. This has happened 3 times in 12 months at Ewood - 2 of them meaning that very important, expensive deals don't go through. I'm not doubting that Glen was told this version, but I don't believe for a nanosecond that it was 3 repeat admin/typo errors. Do they honestly think we're all fucking idiots?
