  1. Hoping for a backlash from the Preston game. We generally do well at their place and owe them one after last season. Stoke 1 - 3 Rovers.
  2. Owing to a lack of genuine technical ability, I've always been a bit of a shithouse on the pitch. And, honestly, there isn't a single player in the current squad who I wouldn't fancy going up against. If anything, Jake Garrett is one who'd go right through you. And with a bit of experience, I reckon he'll be the one out of the current lot who could assume this role for us.
  3. The flip side being, if nothing dodgy is found after what you'd hope will be a comprehensive investigation, we can put a lot of the rumours and conspiracies to bed.
  4. Last Jan, we were very close to bringing in both Undav and O'Brien. Just the former in this current side and the top 6 would be absolutely achievable. This coming January is about as pivotal as any in recent history.
  5. We battered them and should have been out of sight by HT. You'd suggested we had much to fear; we absolutely did not. They won, but even the blindest of blind men could see that we were far superior tonight.
  6. Their goal was well worked, but apart from that, hit and hope / time wasting from mid way in the first half. We've lost tonight, but I'm glad I'll be watching a season of us playing football than the shite they have to watch. Huge game for them and they'll enjoy the win, but it's just another one for us and we'll move onto the next (after the break).
  7. We're playing Preston, not Man City. Very confident of a win tonight.
  8. Yeah, fair. i guess, more importantly, the club will continue to meet its periodic financial obligations. Considering that this matter has affected the flow of cash between India and England since early 2023, it’s a relief to see those restrictions lifted (albeit possibly temporarily).
  9. Was just coming on to post the same. Good to finally get a bit more meat on the bones of this. But more importantly, that cash can now (albeit temporarily for the time being) be sent to the club. Hopefully helps with the Jan window coming up.
  10. Relegation battle's going well. Team of plodders / etc / etc.
  11. I think this is the reality. Discounting the plodders in life, most people have a natural inbuilt desire to better themselves both personally and professionally. JDT is clearly one of those and, even if we did get promoted under him, he's destined for bigger and better things than Rovers.
  12. RIP, condolences to his family.
  13. The Leo thing is being overplayed - let them think he's a weakness and see how they get on. Preston are shite and play dire football; in the image of their manager. We'll do them 3-0 and fire ourselves back into the top 6 (narrowly giving our team of no-mark donkeys some breathing space in our brave battle against relegation).
  14. Pleased to see TK performing well for Luton; he's clearly got a busy season ahead of him, in the weakest side in the division. He'll stay in the Prem once Luton go down, hopefully at a team in the upper section of midtable. Good luck to him.
  15. He's top-class, both in attitude and ability (for this division). I actually think he'd do a very decent job in the Prem also - and hopefully he'll get that chance with us. Agree with the Bellamy comparisons; there are definite similarities. Top lad.
  16. And that weakness is something that can (and, you'd imagine will) be worked on. In GK terms, he's still very young and it appears we've bought potential as much as immediate ability.
  17. I think that undersells him a bit, to be honest. He's keeps the ball moving; the link between defence and attack. It's a simple, but vital, role - and one you miss when they're not there. Pleased to see Semir score a hat trick today, he definitely knows where the goal is and deserves a match or two to show what he can do (rather than 10 minutes here and there). Backing Leo to having a dominant game on Friday.
  18. Leo’s preference to punch and flap needs work, but at least his shot stopping and reactions look decent. Good to see him get praise from the travelling fans at the end of the game; he’s a young lad and will only improve. And he’s not Pears, so there is that. Anyway, great win today. Let’s follow it up by beating Preston on Friday and we’re right up there.
  19. Can we play these (and Duffy) every week, please?
  20. Imagine how good we could be with a full strength team and (dare I say it?) a couple of additions in January. Might just have enough to get out of this desperate relegation battle we’re apparently in. Don’t be fooled by ‘but Norwich were shit’. Yes, they are. But we have been excellent.
  21. Very good first half. Far from over, as much as I like Wahlstedt, he has an error in him. However, hopefully a vital 3 points for this team of useless cloggers, in their desperate fight against relegation. Or, in less bollocks talk, puts us 6 points from 3rd. I like Hill a lot, but S.Wharton has also been good today. Moran and Tronstad both very good and you have to give credit to Dolan, his form has really picked up in recent weeks.
  22. I'd go with this, looks about as good as we've got at the minute. We seem to be being backed heavily by most pundits for tomorrow, which makes me nervous. Rovers very rarely follow logic. I'll go with a 2-0 Rovers win.
  23. I would definitely go with 2 forwards. It's been fashionable to play with the lone striker for a long, long time now - but I'd always prefer two who can play off each other up top. I've always liked the Heskey/Owen mould, rather than two similar guys. Maybe Telalovic and Ennis/Dolan?
  24. Pretty pleased with that first half, couple of half chances and a blatant penalty not given. Markanday looks decent, just needs that little bit more strength and he'd be a player. Can see us scoring, just a case of whether we can keep it tight at the back.
  25. Yep, we were flying high under Hodgson until Sherwood, Sutton and company decided that 2 x training sessions per day wasn't going to fly. Things went downhill from there. Shame, he was ahead of his time in many ways, when he landed here.
