It can't be a coincidence, surely.

Not sure those things combined are a good idea for far too many British football 'fans', who can't resist punching another person in the head for the grand crime of supporting another team to them. Alcohol exacerbates the problem. However much we progress as a society, that caveman element will still be around.

The longer we keep Pears in goal, the more daft points we drop. It's as simple as that, Mr DT. -
Yeah, can't see JDT to Soton. When he does leave, he'll go to a bigger club than Soton, for sure.

Will be a tough game, they’re a good side at this level. I’d either go with 3 CBs (Hill coming in) or have Tronstad as the pivot in midfield. This would free A.Wharton up to do his thing further upfield, with either a box to box next to him (Travis/Garrett) or Moran. I’d go with Szmodics as a false 9, with Sigurdsson and Markanday either side. Wouldn’t be upset with a point, but we should be aiming to win every home game. 2-1 Rovers. -
That bottom bit might not be a bad thing - the current incumbent writes like my 11 year old lad. Lots of ‘could’ve, should’ve’ and repeated adjectives within the same paragraphs.

I think he’ll be a big player for us this season. Has been a bit lightweight and wasteful in periods of his league appearances, but that has been mixed with genuine quality. Once he’s fully integrated, he and Sigurdsson are going to be massive for us this season. Guess you have to give credit to the club for persuading both to come. There were clearly many other options for them.

Miles better than Pears. On the account that he's not Aynsley Pears. -

It's not the swearing that offends me in the JW, it's the gobshites who know next to nothing about football, yet think them shouting 'tactical' instructions at the players will magically make them play better. Just shut up, you utter bell ends. -

Agree on that. I think he's got a lot of talent, but he does look very lightweight in this division. -

Agreed. The answer for him is perform on the pitch. Then the criticism goes away. -

Anyone who is classifying that as a GK error doesn't really know too much about football, to be fair. -

Penalty takers are decided by the manager before the game starts. -
I'm not sure I agree with that. They'll have even games against Sheffield and Luton, but other than that, every other team in the league will expect 3 points from playing the Dingles. All 3 promoted teams will be straight back down, in my opinion.

That *was* the January Window
Andy replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think the entire summer proved that Nixon is working almost exclusively on guesswork and educated guesses. But ignoring that chancer, the January window is hopefully where we'll actually spend some money. We'll have the Raya cash and maybe one or two leaving (eg Dolan, if we could find a buyer). If we can stay within touching reach of the top 6 between now and then, we might just give ourselves half a shot of a decent season. -
Nah, we clearly aren’t going to be anywhere near the bottom 3 come May. However there are several issues that need addressing if we are to achieve more than hovering around midtable this season. First one being putting our best GK in goal, with immediate effect.

And just to complete the full set, Pears at fault yet again. He can not play the next game.

Screaming out for Tronstad in the middle. Get Semir on up top as well, let’s try and win it.
-
If that Szmodics goal wasn’t good enough, won me £235 off a free bet as well 😎 Pears is still shit and Ipswich are still going to beat us, but a wins a win.
-
Should be 3-3. Or 3-1 if Pears hadn’t been playing.
-
Dolan? Just what we need, that.
-
We are making Ipswich Town look like prime Barcelona. Ipswich fucking Town.
-
Not sure about that. He was lightweight, had no control and couldn’t even score from the penalty spot. He’s already done more today than he did for the whole time with us.
-
That is Pears again. Far too slow, we can’t carry on like this.
