  1. Miles better than Pears. On the account that he's not Aynsley Pears.
  2. It's not the swearing that offends me in the JW, it's the gobshites who know next to nothing about football, yet think them shouting 'tactical' instructions at the players will magically make them play better. Just shut up, you utter bell ends.
  3. Agree on that. I think he's got a lot of talent, but he does look very lightweight in this division.
  4. Agreed. The answer for him is perform on the pitch. Then the criticism goes away.
  5. Anyone who is classifying that as a GK error doesn't really know too much about football, to be fair.
  6. Penalty takers are decided by the manager before the game starts.
  7. I'm not sure I agree with that. They'll have even games against Sheffield and Luton, but other than that, every other team in the league will expect 3 points from playing the Dingles. All 3 promoted teams will be straight back down, in my opinion.
  8. I think the entire summer proved that Nixon is working almost exclusively on guesswork and educated guesses. But ignoring that chancer, the January window is hopefully where we'll actually spend some money. We'll have the Raya cash and maybe one or two leaving (eg Dolan, if we could find a buyer). If we can stay within touching reach of the top 6 between now and then, we might just give ourselves half a shot of a decent season.
  9. Nah, we clearly aren’t going to be anywhere near the bottom 3 come May. However there are several issues that need addressing if we are to achieve more than hovering around midtable this season. First one being putting our best GK in goal, with immediate effect.
  10. And just to complete the full set, Pears at fault yet again. He can not play the next game.

  12. Screaming out for Tronstad in the middle. Get Semir on up top as well, let’s try and win it.
  13. If that Szmodics goal wasn’t good enough, won me £235 off a free bet as well 😎 Pears is still shit and Ipswich are still going to beat us, but a wins a win.
  14. Should be 3-3. Or 3-1 if Pears hadn’t been playing.
  15. Dolan? Just what we need, that.
  16. We are making Ipswich Town look like prime Barcelona. Ipswich fucking Town.
  17. Not sure about that. He was lightweight, had no control and couldn’t even score from the penalty spot. He’s already done more today than he did for the whole time with us.
  18. That is Pears again. Far too slow, we can’t carry on like this.
  19. Yep, Pears is now actively costing us points. Fuck off.
  20. Going to be a big player for us this season, worth waiting for. Also felt that Pears should have done better for their goal at first glance.
  21. Ipswich, like Plymouth, are riding the wave of promotion momentum - we did the same thing early in our first season back. It will level out over the season, as it almost always does. I think, performance wise, we’ve been amongst the best in the division so far - and the stats support that, but results haven’t gone our way. We’re due to spank somebody, so no better time than today. Ipswich 0 - 4 Rovers.
  22. Sticking with fag packet numbers. Rather than having an empty stand, sell seats for £2/£3 each. Kids for a quid. Adds thousands onto the gate, better atmosphere (which helps the team), footfall spend, etc, etc. I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face. A full stadium is always, always, always better than a third/half full stadium. If I ran the club, this would be my absolute number 1 priority.
  23. I'm keen to see what Semir can do with a longer spell on the pitch. Been quietly impressed with what I've seen so far - he looks quick enough, strong and very direct.
  24. Someone's going to take a whipping from us soon, hopefully it's Ipswich. I do think we'll win either way. I suspect JDT was saving Semir for the weekend - unleash him and the new GK, possibly even a glimpse of Sigurdsson.
  25. Not sure what's going on with him, but he's been awful - last night was the worst of the lot. Got the ball, did nothing, then lost the ball and we're under pressure. Markanday looked ten times better and he wasn't particularly great. If he's not able to pull himself out of whatever he's struggling with, we need to sell in Jan. You can't tell me that Gilsanen would have been a worse option last night.
