  1. The main problem, as always, is the manager. He's too streaky, ends up going on a reasonable run, followed by a disastrous one. Can't keep the consistency going, not even if he had the best squad in the league.
  2. Not sure we will get any more money off Southampton to be honest. It was billed as a separate deal to the AA one, so now he's signed and that deal is done, not sure how or why Southampton would give us anymore money. I suspect we had first dibs on Obafemi but not much else, possibly got a knock down fee to boot but it won't be that they will just pay us another £3m because he isn't coming.
  3. I'm not too fussed about Obafemi, as long as we are going to sign someone. Flogging AA was inevitable but there has to be a plan for a replacement. Should have had one for months as the AA sale has been on the cards for long enough. If there is some transfer funds now available, we need to strengthen a couple of areas of the pitch if possible.
  4. 89th minute, we'll switch to 18th formation of the season (I'm going for the "Christmas tree" formation), Dolan will latch onto a through ball and rifle one into the bottom corner! Mowbray will stop imitating a sloth for a brief moment and jump up and celebrate this late, late goal. Venus and Lowe will give a long, almost uncomfortably long, embrace. Millwall get ready to kick off again but make a sub before hand, bringing on a defensive mid for a striker in order to preserve their 2 goal lead, because its actually now 3-1.
  5. So, More possession 0 Less possession 1
  6. Aaaaaannnndddd, we're out! Mowbray does my head in with the changing of formations and style all the time. It took 2 fucking games of the new season for all the things I hate about Mowbray's management to come back. FFS.
  7. Mowbray has tried and failed for a long time now to implement a back 3. I suppose, as he "doesn't put much stock into formations" we don't really train too much on stuff like this and he just opts for it like someone playing Fifa and just expects it to work.
  8. Buckley on a yellow after just 6 minutes.
  9. Looks like a back 3. Can't see that working well.
  10. It's been pretty well covered by all the posts in here so far. Not a single positive post regarding Waggott tells you all you need to know.
  11. Definitely agree about investing in other areas. We need a striker now AA has gone but equally we have no real defensive cover. The there are contracts that desperately need extending for a few players or our summer will be a mega rebuilding job, probably with minimal transfer budget.
  12. Picked a good day to go away! Just trying to catch up. Shame about Arma leaving but inevitable. Can't say I'm massive fan of bringing in a crock, who also has an attitude problem!
  13. Yer, it sounds like a deal is close to being done. Not sure what Mowbray's definition of a "few quid here and there" is but it certainly sounds like a deal is near enough done.
  14. I agree, cup runs are great but with the situation we've left ourselves in with the squad being so reliant on our younger players/u23's we need to be pretty careful right now. Ayala will not play every game this season and will likely be missing for a good period of time, so at some point we'll already be relying on Carter/Magloire. Our back up full backs are completely untested at this level and any injury to Nyambe/Pickering (whos also untested at this level) see us fielding U23's in their place. Championship is a long season and we need to make sure we give ourselves the best chance of being in it again next season, even if, unfortunately that comes at the expense of a cup run.
  15. Cheers Not sure Southampton will put enough on the table for us to deal, if their opening bid was only £8m, I can't see them doubling it, which sounds like more what we are after.
  16. Where have you seen about Southampton putting in a new bid?
  17. Noticed he is currently trending on twitter (although with Rovers not Liverpool for some reason) Anyway, its just a load of Lpool fans saying how great he's been and want to keep him around.
  18. Always a trade off between trying to stay consistent and not risking senior players. At the moment though, we basically have a starting 11 and then the rest are under 23's (mainly) not sure how we can risk that many first teamers for this, even though it would be great to progress in the Cup. The entire back 4 needs leaving out for this one, for certain.
  19. If we sell Armstrong, at the very least new contracts need to be given to Lenihan, Rothwell and Nyambe. If there are any decent freebies left, although unlikely, maybe we could make a move for 1 of those with some of the AA money.
  20. I'm assuming as we can't/won't extend contracts for our own players, we can't even hand out contracts to free agents? Crazy situation.
  21. Really hope so too. Having the majority of possession didn't work out too well last season and we seem to fare a lot better when we have less.
  22. Assuming his absence today all but confirms that he's being sold in the next few days?
