It’s fair to say that Sunderland fans hold this lad in the absolute lowest regard possible. One even wrote he was “The single worst piece of transfer business in Sunderland’s history” Mogga always talks about getting the right type of player but this guy sounds like the total opposite. I was wondering the same thing We need to get him on the pitch first. He'll need a few months to get match fit and he'll pick up plenty of injuries on route. Doubt he'd make the bench before Xmas.

I get what you're saying but if we are signing Rodwell with the aim of converting him into a centre back, i'd be even more disappointed in his signing. Why not just sign a centre back instead of this utter wastrel?

Mogga's comments sound like Rodwell is a done deal and knowing the fans will be unimpressed has tried to temper the disappointment by saying he'll be cheap and we need to give him a chance. I doubt he'll make anymore than a handful of sub apps for us. Fitness and an abysmal attitude will see to that.

Ended 2-2 can’t complain after being 2 down but we should complain about going 2 down at home to Reading. Great fight and spirit though.
