  1. Another loss on the road. Another season of doing nothing at all.
  2. Could easily be 3 down here. Poor
  3. Our attack is abysmal. Luckily that Cantwell is getting up to speed because without we've got literally nothing.
  4. Excellent from Cantwell. But now we're sticking Crosses in and Gueye is on the bench 🤦‍♂️
  5. Ohashi really needs to work on his first touch, dreadful.
  6. Didn't think he'd change the starting 11 much. Yuki could do with another goal, feels like ages since his last one. Big games needed from Hedges and Dolan too.
  7. I think if we play like we did against Swansea, we'll be very fortunate to get all 3 points. I have no issue setting up to play on the counter but we don't really have the pace to break on teams with any real conviction. I doubt he'll change much following a win but it seems like, game after game, we are looking at changing up the attack as it didn't quite work in the game before. Dolan will retain his place in the middle, Cantwell most likely on the left. I'd maybe bring Sigurdsson in but it would mean starting him on the right. Assume Gueye will keep his place with Ohashi to come off the bench.
  8. Dire stuff but it's 5/5 at home, so can't really complain too much. Feels like that tactic isn't going to pay off against better teams but we can't grumble too much as it's gotten the results so far. Cantwell was good but Beck was the pick of the bunch.
  9. Incredibly lucky to get away without conceding there.
  10. Not sure why set up to play on the counter, we are so bad at it.
  11. Really not a fan of the sitting back with everyone in our own half tactic. It's just asking to concede.
  12. Yeah, he needs a goal soon. He's looking like a poor signing.
  13. ----------------------------Toth JRC/Brittain----Carter---Batth---Beck ---------------------Travis------Tronstad ACD----------------Cantwell-------Weimann -------------------------Gueye He won't play that. Pears, Hyam, Pickering, Dolan and Hedges will all start.
  14. Yep, bizarre again. Pears might not have done anything majorly wrong so far this season, but he's still a poor keeper. Shocking we can't sign a keeper better than Pears.
  15. Yeah this is what I'm hoping for. No bias towards players and its a complete clean slate. Hopefully he plays the best team, and not necessarily just shoehorning the best players into any position for the sake of it.
  16. Can only assume he'll be abstaining from watching the England games from now on, as he set his stall out loud and clear.
  17. https://www.skysports.com/share/13234149 Tuchel it is!
  18. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13233817/thomas-tuchel-to-england-former-chelsea-and-bayern-munich-manager-in-pole-position-for-job-with-the-fa-in-talk Skysports now reporting that The FA are in talks with Tuchel over taking the job. An enquiry allegedly went to Pep as well, but no dice.
  19. Your point about English coaches/managers just not being good enough is spot on. The FA don't seem to have had much long term planning or a contingency for when Southgate inevitably left his role. Could be a very rough few years for us if we are just trying to shoehorn in a manager based purely off the fact they are English. Wiegman gets lauded for her achievements with the Lionesses (given a CBE to boot) and no one gives a toss that she's Dutch. Don't know why we make such a big deal over it for the mens team. Like you say, the hard truth is that we just don't have any English coaches that are good enough right now and rectifying that is a long term solution not and overnight fix.
  20. 1 up but another poor performance from England.
  21. Hang on, you're saying we need to develop English managers through the St George's park set up, citing the Spanish national coach's route to the senior team as a reference, and then pick 2 people who haven't managed England at any level whatsoever? Luis De La Fuente might have been unknown to us but he's been involved in the youth teams of the Spanish national team since 2013. Who's done that for England? Carsely has done it for 4 years and looks to be a complete car crash at senior level. There hasn't been the same level of long term planning by the FA, so we have no one like that to call upon. At best, they could give Carsely the job and hope it works out, if that's the route you want to go down. Lampard and Potter will have to take over the U19's, and move up the ranks over the next 10 years, if we are to emulate Spain.
