  1. So many issues to resolve this summer: New No.1 keeper Sell Dolan (if he won't sign a new contract) Sell Gallagher Sell Hyam (if he won't sign a new contract) Sell Sigurdsson (if he won't sign a new contract) Likely to lose Szmodics Do we retain Fadz? Do we sell Buckley? Can we sell Markanday? All those plus new signings we need and any replacements we need to make. Big summer and on top of that we are gutting the recruitment/scouting department.
  2. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/sam-gallagher-blackburn-rovers-carlton-palmer-ipswich-town/ Here's the article where Carlton Palmer's brain turns to melted ice cream as he says: "I think a fee in the region of about £8m would probably see him leave Blackburn Rovers this summer." Can only assume he thinks Sam Gallagher is Sammie Szmodics or something.
  3. France (annoingly) will probably win it
  4. Sigurdsson on the bench for tonight, as is Wharton
  5. Superb stuff seeing Wharton going to the Euros. Absolutely delighted for him.
  6. Not if they are going to be hamstrung by the owners/board/waggot/suhail.
  7. The last 14 years have been a shit show. Rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic now isn't going to do jack shit
  8. Not all terrible but the majority not really good enough. Tronstad and Hill aside, the rest have made little to no impact in the first team. Whalstedt, obviously made some high profile errors. If we had a fully fit squad, only Tronstad would be starting out of all 13 signings (with the exception of Hill, who was obviously recalled)
  9. On the back foot, playing catch up already with nothing but a packet of love hearts and a Curly wurly for a transfer budget. Shambles.
  10. Wtf? Did we know he was leaving? You've referenced him loads in posts recently.
  11. Surely they have bigger/better fish to fry than Gallagher? Mental how most Rovers fans would be happy to see them back of him and yet he could be a premier league player by the start of the season.
  12. Mark Venus has officially left Birmingham now. Could he rock up back here?
  13. I'll bow to your superior knowledge on this one but if our striking pool is this guy, Gallagher and Leonard (assuming he doesn't go on loan), still doesn't feel good enough.
  14. Don't know anything about him but his CV isn't particularly impressive. He also played for 12 different clubs in just a 5 year period. Not quite sure what went on there. He's hardly been banging goals in throughout his career though.
  15. Can't be true, surely? He's had a very random career since he was last in English football though: Last English club: West Brom 2017-2018: 21 games, 3 wins, 14.3% win rate - left by mutual agreement ADO Den Haag 2019-2020: 8 games, 1 win, 12.5% win rate, season stopped due to covid - left by mutual agreement. CAKA Sofia 2022: 7 games, 1 win, 14.3% win rate - left after CSKA fans threw bananas at black CSKA players (was also technical director here prior to becoming manager) Aris Thessaloniki 2022-2023: 22 games, 9 wins, 40.9% win rate - left by mutual agreement. The last 3 roles have been very random, it would be a really strange choice for the Dingles if they are hoping he replicates his Newcastle/Palace form from 10 years ago.
  16. Is he any good? At 19, surely he's gotta be getting in and around the first team at some point? Unless he's off on loan.
  17. Not for me. The bloke is a hero/legend whatever you wanna call him but being nice and letting him leave for a knockdown price sets the precedent across the board. Players will be asking to leave for less than their value because we did it for Sammie and other clubs will be smelling blood because we flog players on the cheap. £8m for the leading goalscorer in the championship and cup. It's a borderline insult tbh. It's not like the prem clubs are strapped for cash. The club comes first, needs to be a sensible price or not at all.
  18. A full season playing in league one would be what they both really need.
  19. I don't rate Dolan that much but at 22 years old and already with 150 Rovers apps to his name, he's in a good place to kick on and improve over the next few seasons. It would be classic Rovers to finally get a consistent tune out of him this season and watch him walk for free next summer.
  20. Agreed. After 14 years of complete mismanagement, the club is desperate for new ownership and that ownership needs to come in and gut the place completely.
  21. So in reality, what's the point in hiring him? He's unlikely to be here beyond the end of the season. Also, and it might be different in football, but i find people who change jobs almost annually are generally bullshitters, who jump before they are found out.
  22. Nar, that post about the backroom staff is the latest one.
  23. I know we activated the 1 year option but I’m sure Dolan has had a new contract on the table for quite some time now? Figured he would have signed it by now if he was staying
