  1. Do you believe that? Sacking him would be an admission of their own failure - and this lot don't think they do anything wrong.
  2. The squad had relegation written all over it from the start but even so results and performances have been shocking and even worse than expected. You cannot sell experienced Championship players and replace them with young unknowns from abroad and hope it will work out for the best. It just doesn't work - and neither does hiring a manager with a record of failure Is it by design? Who knows. Gestede and his sidekick need to be quizzed hard if / when they ever deign to meet with fans groups again On another note how significant are those potentially lost 3 points against Ipswich going to be at the end of the season? You also wonder whether that decision has knocked the stuffing out of the players. It shouldn't but Rovers have been abysmal ever since then I don't hold out any hope against Sheffield United and think they will beat us easily.
  3. 1-0 to the Blades This death spiral is only just starting
  4. Ismael lasted barely an average of 7 months at all his previous clubs before being booted out He”s now been with us about 8 months or so (?) so he’s already overdue another sacking. He may not be the whole problem at the club but it must be obvious he’s going to get us relegated. The man’s a dud. And he’s here for over 3 years, which should be plenty of time. to take us down to league 2. the only hope is that he resigns out of shame
  5. They're all "fookin massive" when you're fighting relegation
  6. And there it is. Why do fans say we're playing well when the inevitable happens? We can't score so that'll likely be it for the afternoon
  7. A 5-0 defeat is a "result" A bad one. Cantwell missing is a blow This could be horrible. Not sight yet among the fans here of a clever looking bloke with a beautiful woman. Odd that
  8. Look at the pitch Tyrone .... quite good by Ewood 1960s standards!
  9. Denis Law scores past Fred Else in the First Division clash between Rovers and Man United at Ewood in March 1963 Riverside absolutely packed Rovers 2 United 2 I woz there. 62 years ago but still remember the game.
  10. But Wharton isn't being picked, because there's so many good players ahead of him. To get past them he's going to have to move on to a bigger stage
  11. The problem is, England are overloaded with midfield players with the latest Anderson (an excellent player) breaking through and another who is ahead of Wharton You get the feeling Adam is going to need a move to a "big" club for England to pick him
  12. Tomasson took us within goal difference of the play-offs - the closest we've got since coming down from the PL. Some of the football was beautiful to watch and he oversaw one of the best nights of football and excitement I've seen in many, many years in the FA Cup victory over Leicester City at the Kingpower. Fantastic. For that I'm grateful. Wish he was still here - working with a board that backed him
  13. I have been to Coventry about 6 times from memory and my record is P6 L6. Yep, that's nul points out of 18 So why am I thinking of going again? Because it can't get any worse (can it?) and if we were somehow able to secure a point it will feel like a win. And of course this could be our last season in the Championship for some considerable time - so it will sad but poignant to see 2 clubs heading in opposite directions.
  14. Dear, oh dear Sheff Utd haven't won a game this season I believe? We all know what's going to happen
  15. Utter nonsense The only difference between them and us is they're well managed and ambitious - rather like Burnley.in fact. I'd written today off as a defeat and see it as a point gained. They all count in the relegation fight we're in
  16. Has Kargbo scored? He must have miskicked it
  17. Storm-force winds here, game would awful to watch if it went ahead. What's it like in Ewood area? Assuming they play, can't see anything other than another defeat. Ismael v Robins. What reason for optimism is there? Rovers 0 Stoke 2
  18. The truth is they've all been poor managers and it's hard to say which has been worst, though Ismael could yet prove us wrong. Watched Rovers get tonked 4-0 at West Ham under Iley and we were awful, one of the worst performances I've seen from a Rovers team. He also gets my vote
  19. Cannot comment on players I’ve never seen play so combination of greatest players and “great Rovers” in my lifetime: Clayton, Douglas, Garner, Shearer
  20. Ismael has been sacked from 4 of the 11 clubs he's managed as far as I can make out. West Brom sacked him after winning 12 out of 31 matches. He's won 4 out of 12 with us. Time to go
  21. General consensus among Barnsley fans appears to be that Ismael benefited from the good work and foundations laid by the previous manager. That season was obviously an aberration - his managerial career is a litany of failure that somehow made him worthy of a 3.5 year contract at Ewood
  22. He’s lasted an average of 7 months at the multitude of clubs he’s managed We gave him a 3.5 year contract Work that one out
  23. Were you playing in the band on the Titanic as it went down?
  24. Screw the LET ban and the niceties. Jackson should give the team and the club a rollicking in his match analysis (assume he’s doing one). If the club doesn’t like it, tough. Home truths need to be said
