  1. He's right, unfortunately. The quality just isn't there to sustain a challenge over the season
  2. This is awful. Boro could have scored 3 in the last 5 minutes. Meanwhile up front we haven't tested their keeper yet
  3. Boro's. Most of our lot are understandably sitting in stony silence
  4. Blackburn "overachieving under Eustace". Thanks very much
  5. Another abysmal half. Boro at a canter and we don't like like scoring a goal in a month of Sundays Even the protesters have been numbed into silence
  6. Can you really? That would mean them admitting they'd made a mistake - and cost money. Won't happen
  7. Ismael stands there like a statue. No animation, no instructions, no passion. Nothing Sacre bleu
  8. We never, ever, look like scoring a goal. Every game
  9. I suggested it from the 2nd game only to be shot down but the Rovers players have been on strike since Ismael turned up
  10. If this doesn't provoke a big reaction from fans in the ground nothing will
  11. And 0-2 Great managerial appointment chaps. Well done
  12. Two minutes.... that's all it took Even "one of the best keepers in the Championship couldn't save it"
  13. Watched 5 minutes and that was enough. All 3 of them are clearly rattled. Congratulations on all who are involved in this. Would any decent employer give any of them a job? Gestede to clean the players' boots and sweep the floors maybe. Dreadful people, a whole world away from the Rovers-supporting local businessmen who ran the club decades ago and had only its interests at heart. Waggott comes across a slimy individual, with one of those simpering, whiny Geordie voices. The fans need to be heard loud and clear and, hopefully, actions need to take place and be seen before the TV cameras on Friday night. Will it make any difference? Who knows - but let's embarrass the hell out of these people.
  14. We can’t lose against “Middlesborough” because as a town and a club it doesn’t exist. In our current dire form I don’t think we’ll get anything out of Middlesbrough though, despite our generally very good record against them Rovers 0 Middlesbrough 1
  15. I suggested after 2 games under Ismael the players weren't playing for him and I don't think there's any doubt now. They were devastated to see the popular Eustace go and they have soon made up their mind they don't like Ismael. Unprofessional yes, but they obviously do not believe in him and/or what he's trying to do (does anyone)? The club is in crisis . Key players are out of contract in the summer and the manager is a dud who needs to be sacked. Red Bull showed how to be ruthless when the team realised they'd made a mistake and sacked a F1 driver after only 2 races - Rovers, if the club were properly run, should do the same.
  16. Well that didn't take long. We struggle to score so it's likely game over One point from 15 for the genius Ismael
  17. Baath is back but that’s another bonkers line up. Woodrow leading the line - really?
  18. Good to see the mainstream media including the BBC picking up on this now. Don’t like the split infinitive in the headline though. Well done to all involved in this. A collective fans’ voice is important in this fight and hopefully the various groups will stick together under one banner now
  19. Slow, predictable, pointless, constant , sideways passing, dull, dulll, dull. Southgate on steroids. No sign of new thinking or direction. And vulnerable at the back too. Individually Rashford was awful, Foden out of place on the right wing, and Walker is way past his best. Meanwhile, Dan Burn. Really?
  20. The financial services industry’s definition of a “long term” investment: a short term one that’s gone wrong. Same with Ismael: he hoped we’d reach the playoffs; now that’s gone he’s playing the long game. Perhaps that’s why they handed him a 3- year contract: they suspected he was a deadbeat but gave him plenty of time to prove it
  21. They're visible, enthusiastic and engaged with the fans. That's a proper owner. Since we were relegated from the Prem Burnley have had 3 promotions and could be heading for a fourth - something we can only dream about The reality is compared to us they're a better run club, with better owners, better players and a better manager.
  22. Burnley's US connection https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/cdjym33j4mdo
  23. Tickets for Anfield proved impossible to obtain despite my best efforts so decided to play cricket on the day of the game to try to take my mind off events Impossible. Team-mates kept sending out false, winding-up messages from the boundary while I was batting as to the scores at Anfield and Upton Park, increasing my anxiety and contributing to my low score. Celebrations all round at the end of the game though. Many (cricket) "jugs" consumed that evening
  24. Looking back, Tomasson was a huge loss. Results and performances were mixed at times with but he was an intelligent, thoughtful, progressive coach who at its best had Rovers playing a modern brand of football that was the equal of the top PL clubs. Players such as JRC thrived under him. The addition of just one player - an experienced, effective striker - in that January would have got us into the playoffs at least that season. Losing out on goal difference was heartbreaking and, with the excellent cup run, showed the difference he made Ismael seems to combine the worst of Eustace and Mowbray - an inability to get the team to score goals, defensive frailty and a total absence of inspiration from the touchline.
