He’s better than the two who played there yesterday though and he’d be a first pick for us at the moment. -

I assume this is tongue in cheek. If you’re being serious you must be one of the deluded Facebook posters -

The midfield is sorely missing Travis and Hyam and Baath were big losses from the defence. I don’t think we would have conceded those goals with those 2 playing yesterday. You cannot lose 3 players like that and hope to replace them with players who are not as good and not struggle. I saw some daft posts on Facebook yesterday where fans were saying we’re unlikely to make the playoffs this season. It still hasn’t hit home that the 3 recent wins notwithstanding we’re in a desperate battle to avoid relegation. On another note Baath isn’t getting in the Derby team - can we have him back on loan? I’m sure with his love for the club jolly John Eustace would agree -

Bloomin' awful and totally predicable. Terrible letdown on a historic day for the club And against Derby and the snake Eustace of all clubs and people You cannot play like that first 45 minutes and expect to get anything from a game. Basic defending. -

Sounds like we didn't deserve that. A draw would be a good result today -

Big club occasion, but team weakened by injuries doesn't turn up against the last team and manager you'd want to lose to This was so predictable and inevitable. -

Brereton and Morris will enjoy playing against that ramshackle defence. And with Pears behind that motley crew what possibly could go wrong? -

That's my feeling too. Eustace is no fool and knows where Rovers weaknesses are - not least in goal. Their big lump of a centre forward is bound to score -

They're halves -
Rovers 1965-66. Relegated from the first division that season but the core of the team that I still regard as the best Rovers team I ever saw And look at those shirts! The previous V-neck shirt was excellent but this round neck version was stunningly attractive, white shorts and socks (mandatory IMO|) with no logos, no advertising, no player names, just brilliant blue and white halves (with a red number on the back IIRC). The best Rovers shirt of all time - no arguments As a side note, I don't know why Ronnie Clayton has white laces and Mike England has his sleeves rolled up for the photo but they were wonderful players so they're excused

Eustace is no fool - he'll tell his players to bang in the crosses and shoot from distance because he knows Pears is always liable to make a mistake. Ismael is going to have to work out a way of setting up the defence to protect him The injuries are very unfortunate and this match against this particular opposition has come at a bad time. I'd happily take a draw -

Good post. Nothing is secret the digital era - teams are studied for threats and weaknesses and managers will have been looking at how we've managed to win 3 in a row and act accordingly. Watch what Eustace does on Saturday Important that Cantwell comes back -
Bad tackle from behind, got up, my knee felt a bit odd but OK and tried to play on, then I collapsed in a heap. Damaged PCL. It was my last ever game of football, never played again. Hope Toth is OK

Another very good win, and this one against one of our bogey teams. Never saw that happening. It’s come at a great cost though. Toth and Wharton will be badly missed if they’re out for a while -

Fatawu is an out and out winger who hugs the touchline. McLoughlin had to play the left back role to counter him and struggled, getting outmanoeuvred several times and losing several one-on-ones. He lacks pace for that position. I like him as a player but left back against a tricky winger is clearly not his best position. . -

McLoughlin got the runaround from their No 7 in the first half on Saturday, so much that Ismael took off De Neve, who hadn't been playing badly, at half time and brought Hedges on to give McLoughlin more protection. It worked. McLoughlin's not a good left back IMO -

Football is a job of work for the players, just like any other living. They want to be successful and play for a winning team but pay and security of contract is their primary concern. They’ll move club to where they’re wanted and not give a second glance to the club they leave. We were in the East Midlands last week and watching “Derby County captain” Lewis Travis on the local news brought home how transient the players are and why fans should not get too attached to or emotional about them. -
England have been set up to fail.

v Leicester City (a) - 1/11/25

It's a long time since I've enjoyed such an away win...... in fact probably the last time at the Kingpower! Some observations Leicester were woeful overall and I can't see the manager lasting long. Their fans were virtually silent through the whole game. Having said that they could / should have scored 2 in the first half with better crosses and finishing. The save by Toth was one of the best I've seen by a Rovers goalie The Icelandic lad has a nose for goal and I think he's going to score alot of goals for us. However he needs extra work in the afternoons on the training ground working on playing with his back to goal and link-up play. Is Danny Graham around to do some coaching? Dare I say it but the right back is probably an upgrade on Brittain? I wish Brittain were still here but the new lad offers so much more and is a better defender too. Other standouts were Wharton, who was a rock in defence ( I just hope he stays fit), the goalkeeper, who never put a foot wrong, and the manager, who got his subs and tactics just right On the downside, Henriksson (sp?) and Gardner struggled for me and gave the ball away far too often and McLoughlin is not a left back. Their number 7 gave him a torrid first half. De Neve is an odd one, physically he looks and runs like an amateur playing in the professional game but was surprisngly effective going forward. He was unlucky to be subbed but bringing on Hedges to nullify the No 7 was the right decision Great day, and credit to the fans too, who never stopped singing. Just like being in a German league ground. As for Leicester, who cares? We know what it's like to go home depressed after a miserable home performance -
Just one warm-up match before the first Test. One. In years gone by there'd be 3 of 4. If the batsmen fail again they'll be going into the series cold and out of form
