  1. That was a relegation team tonight at least Eustace knows the size of the task Plenty of boos from. The rovers fans at the end
  2. He won some important headers in our own box but not a single one against their centre half
  3. Well that was 45 minutes to forget. Should be 1-0 down. Rovers offering nothing in attack and defence looks wobbly too, especially down the left flank. At least there were no Tomasson style giveaway goals .
  4. Steward at the ground says we’ve only got 500 here but you have to assume that doesn’t include those paying on the gate Not sure he can be trusted though. He thinks Brum are playing Blackpool tonight 😬
  5. It is a risk I agree. I'll make sure I get there in plenty of time West Brom in the recent away match had a notice saying they would shut access to the away stand 15 minutes before kickoff. Seems very draconian to me
  6. The West Brom away game was a turning point for me. The players had lost faith in the manager and effectively given up. Apart from Garrett, who had his best game I've seen for Rovers, every player on that pitch was not fighting for the cause. Brittain's comments show the uncomfortable truth
  7. Have to say the M6 toll road is a cause of friction in our household; I don't like paying it, others like missing the delights of Birmingham The penny pinching on parking etc chimes with other stories about the players' shirts. Presumably this comes from the top from a chap who is worth every penny of his £300,000 plus a year
  8. "Lost the dressing room" and "players not playing for the manager" are old cliches but they are still relevant and sum up the last few months of Tomasson's reign. A player will in most cases give 100% every time through professional pride but when they're being badly managed or don't believe in a manager's philosophy, as Rovers clearly were, it has an effect on even the best players.
  9. JDT is the coaching god who had Rovers playing the beautiful game, the man on high who must never be challenged Until suddenly, he wasn't Now it's John Eustace and his set-piece coach and his new way of playing. Tis written on stone in chaddyland We've all been warned
  10. Thanks, would welcome it. Site seems to be working again, don't know why
  11. Looking forward to this. Amazing how the fixture list can throw up games with such relevance. Anyone know if we can pay on the gate?
  12. You have to feel for the Stoke lad who made that video. There was a group of us at the recent West Brom away match saying exactly the same as Rovers imploded in the first half. It's hard watching your club being badly managed and the players not seeming to care less I'm glad Tomasson has departed. Change was sorely needed and was too long coming. Tomasson was actively damaging the club in leading us into a relegation fight and if he'd been honest with himself he should have resigned and walked away long ago. Early days, but we seem to have a hands-on pragmatic manager who appears to know how to get the best out of an under-performing set of players. Birmingham next and I'm actually looking forward to going, which I haven't been able to say for a long time.
  13. Hated Gerd Muller, great player and all that, but genuinely hated him And that England team was better than the 1966 team
  14. I've never been the same since, and it was 54 years ago Horrible
  15. Rovers fans were singing that in the league cup match at Stamford Bridge surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate in the world. Cue much laughter from Chelsea supporters
  16. Yes it’s clear the players weren’t listening to Tomasson any more and he had lost the dressing room to use a well known phrase. Another good result against Birmingham and we will have had a new manager bounce to use another
  17. A very welcome win....... half a sigh of relief. If we can follow it up beating or taking a point at Birmingham we can breathe a bit more easily.
  18. "Lost the dressing room" is a legitimate football phrase and anyone who's played the game knows what it means. Having played for many years to a decent level, there were a few times when I played for managers the team didn't rate so in that respect the manager had "lost the dressing room". We still put in 100% but we knew we could be better because we were being badly led by a manager we did not respect. There were tales of this happening under Tomasson and he is said to have asked the Rovers players after once dire performance if they "wanted to play for him" - another example of a manager in whom the players have lost faith.
  19. Or play with two flying wingers who can cross a ball and a big physical centre forward who can score goals? Kudos to any manager who tries that again.
