  1. On one leg. Clickbait. You fell for it
  2. Plymouth Argyle was founded in 1886 - how much history do you want? Average gates at Home Park in 2024-25 were about 16,500 compared to about 16,150 at Ewood
  3. Nothing wrong with ambition (our club badly needs some) but the way Szmodics went about it to engineer a move was wrong. And his recent comments have made it worse. As mentioned above, I hope one of our players runs their studs down the back of his legs when he comes to Ewood.
  4. They both refused to play because they wanted to go somewhere "better" Not in the Derek Dougan class of downing tools but there's not much difference Sammie's spoilt it for me and has tarnished his time at Ewood
  5. Refusing to play in the hope of forcing a move - it's probably not unusual. but I have to say I find his admission selfish and appalling. Rovers were paying his wages and he's effectively gone on a one-man strike. - I wonder how the rest of the squad felt. There was no reason why he could not have trained as usual for the start of the new season while talks between the clubs went on in the background So yes, he's in the same bracket as Gestede and no doubt many others who behaved similarly - and he's gone down in my estimation. If he's still at Ipswich he should be getting a (not so) warm reception at Ewood next season
  6. To be fair that’s a poor post. 20 people losing their jobs isn’t funny at all
  7. Dolan was our worst player in many games for the first three quarters of last season - I lost count the number of times I was shouting for the manager to take him off. He played badly and looked lazy. Then the last time I saw him play was the away win at Luton when he worked his socks off all over the pitch after we went down to 10 men. He looked a different player So what brought about the transformation? With his contract running out and the prospect of a lucrative move the answer isn't difficult
  8. Thanks. Looked a good player for us Seems a bit of a comedown to be playing in the South Lancashire Counties League
  9. Where is Beck now, assume he's gone back to Liverpool?
  10. There are complications for local papers, which are in structural decline with increasingly stretched owners, to cover a story like this - not least the legal implications and the possibility of action is they get anything wrong. That's my guess - it's all too difficult
  11. Sorba Thomas - remember him? - playing well for Wales against Belgium tonight Just signed a contract at Stoke
  12. Dolan to leave so Hedges to start. Money in (maybe) and none spent. Bingo! The Venky's model
  13. Oh dear Chaddy, got it all wrong again by backing Ange Becoming a bit of a habit don't you think? The mystery is why you're bothered about a very unlikeable North London club
  14. Reform and Brexit voter. Why do they go abroad where they know there's even more more furreiners than at home?
  15. I expect Brittain to leave with Montgomery taking his place. The lad looks capable enough. Low earner replaces high earner and a possible fee for Brittain too. It's almost inevitable
  16. That team would go only one way - down to League One
  17. As the saying goes, a stopped clock is right twice a day Nixon's scattergun approach means one or two of his fliers will hit the target but most of the time he's churning out clickbait to keep food on the table Best approach is not to treat his stories with a pinch of salt but a whole mine of the stuff
  18. They’re direct quotes from him.
  19. Dolan in the Times article on Friday refers to us several times as "Blackburn", not Rovers. He doesn't understand this club Sell
  20. The cash shortfall probably partly explains the decision to shut the women's section The sales of Dolan and Brittain should just about cover the funding gap Either way it's clear there's little or no money to spend on players this summer In other words, nothing has changed
  21. Agree with the above The shocking and unwelcome demise of the women's team shows the accountants are in charge at Ewood and that spending this summer will be minimal.
  22. The referee clearly made a mistake over the Villa "goal", but making a formal complaint reflects badly on Villa and shows a lack of class. Rather like their obnoxious fans
  23. Biggest disappointment of the day was Forest's failure to beat Chelsea. Forest have had a wonderful season and no one likes Chelsea. Spuds revert to type after their lucky Europa win - the manager will be gone soon. No one likes them either. Glad it's all over. Monotonous, ;pointless league enlivened this season only by Forest's unexpected success.
  24. No interest whatsoever. I watched tonight’s game out of curiosity with 2 English clubs involved but it was even worse than I expected. That’s it for with football for me. Our local cricket club needs help and that’s where I’ll be for the next few months until Rovers kick off another season of dashed hopes and ultimate disappointment
  25. Rubbish game, rubbish goal, rubbish result. Two clubs it’s difficult to like but I’d rather a dislikeable northern club beat a dislikeable southern one. The football season drags on and on, it’s far too long. Time for cricket.
