  1. Dyche lives in Northants
  2. That's a managerial motley crew if ever I saw one ....... O'Neil would be OK but not one of them stands out and to be honest I'd rather we stuck with Lowe to the end of the season and make a decision in the summer (after the season has started and the transfer window has shut of course) than appoint any of them for the sake of it. I've missed pages on this thread but I assume Cooper is not in the running. Of those out of work he's the only one I'd welcome given his very good track record in this division.
  3. Ismael doesn't seem to have stayed anywhere very long including his last job at Watford when he lasted barely 10 months before getting the boot following a run of 1 win in 10 league games Mediocre, desperate for a job, and quite likely cheap. Ticks all of Steve's boxes,
  4. At the risk of repeating myself, his departure could never be a “surprise”, as you stated for the many reasons, that are well known and are well documented. The potential replacements will have changed over the months naturally but a club that knew its manager could leave at any time would have been constantly up to speed on the names they would want to approach. This seems to be going round in circles but it can’t be denied that it’s another example of a dithering and dysfunctional “management”. And yes I am pleasantly surprised at the league position but after watching 10 games and 10 defeats this season - that’s 0 points out of 30 - you might understand my cynicism
  5. The 2 wins since he left are irrelevant. The point is, the lack of decision making provides another example of the shoddy way the club is run. Most clubs would have this sorted out in days - especially as his likely departure was signalled months ago. My reply was to the erroneous statement that Eustace leaving “took the club by surprise” when it clearly could not have been. Your post doesn’t make sense
  6. Irrelevant to the previous post
  7. Come orf it! He’s been looking to leave since last summer; he’s applied for at least 3 jobs; it’s been on the cards for months; why do you think it took them by surprise when he finally received an offer and he told them he wants to go? Rovers should have their targets lined up and been approaching them as soon as Derby made their interest known. A deal should be tied up by now.
  8. My first question to Waggott would always be: who is the next manager? Succession planning is vital for any club. They have always to be one step ahead of the game because it’s always changing It’s clear the dolts at Ewood had no plan in place in the event of the manager leaving - which it’s been clear for months he’s wanted to do Just another example of how badly the club is run. A new manager should be in place by now
  9. Strange team - Buckley being rested? He's been playing so well. Duberry is a passenger most games - he desperately needs to show something. And Cantwell needs to start showing his true ability. Baath is a loss - hope he’s not out long
  10. “Must-win” is overused but I feel it’s so important to get the 3 points today and keep the feel good factor going after the turmoil of the past week. A draw would be a big disappointment and defeat bring back the dark clouds of everything that’s wrong at the club . Cautiously hopeful Rovers 2 Plymouth 0
  11. The "moving to be near his family" reason for leaving Rovers was always a smokescreen and complete nonsense
  12. Excellent article in today’s Times newspaper on Eustace and the continuing dysfunctional Venky’s regime at Ewood. Written by Gregor Robertson, an ex-footballer. Says Eustace was also in for the Hull job - which is new - in addition to West Brom and Coventry, suggesting again that Eustace only saw Rovers as a temporary job on the way to something better. Again begs the question - was John not the victim in all this and did he use the club?
  13. I wouldn’t be too bothered with what Eddie says, Rev. “Good riddance to bad rubbish” to describe a decent bloke who did a good job in difficult circumstances can be added to last weekend’s never to be forgotten “happy to be out of the cup”.
  14. It's so important we win this to get a run going after the very welcome and unexpected West Brom victory and gives us some momentum going into the sharp end of the season. A defeat (or draw) would be such as disappointment and will take away the feel-good factor from Tuesday. A must-win game for me. Nothing else will do.
  15. This is likely to be very similar to a transfer window - long, drawn-out, with no sign of any decision, smacking of course of the usual lack of forward planning. Expect periodic press releases every week or so with "updates" on the club's "progress" in its "search for the right man" and how it hopes to make an appointment "as soon as possible" Rinse and repeat for 6 weeks. Then it announces that Lowe will continue until the end of the season when there will be another "review" and a final decision made
  16. Thanks for asking but no, I’ve been laid low by a grotty virus so stayed at home. Delighted with the win, hoping to see one before the end of the season!
  17. No I’ve been struck down by the lurgy. Double bonus tonight - Rovers victory and my 100 per cent record intact
  18. Well that was unexpected! Football, bloody hell. Great credit to the players pulling together after all the chaos behind the scenes
  19. The Rovers players deserve this after all the shit of the past few days Hope we can hang on!
  20. He played more than 570 league games scoring over 130 goals. Not bad for a gasman
  21. Buying a home in the area makes even more sense
  22. Cooper has a decent track record in this division. Give him a contract to the end of the season with a million pound bonus if we go up. Then review
  23. Thanks for confirming. Kevin stating stating the obvious that’s flown over the head of the downvoter. Folk questioned why Bryan Kidd left as United. No 2 to become Rovers manger and Kidd admitted it was for the money
  24. Cynical view and amid the chaos I hadn’t thought of it but you could have hit on the truth. Eustace is likely to have been offered a big pay rise and that more than his grievances will have swayed his decision. Managers are no different to players - they’re out for maximum financial gain and they want success but at the end of the day money talks
