  1. Good signings, obviously. And (gulp) you have to give kudos to the Ewood management for picking Tomasson and Eustace and the job they did / are doing in difficult circumstances I bet both would say they were lied to though about the backing they would receive in the transfer market The point is, we've signed more than our fair share of duds, and when money is tight (apparently) you cannot afford to make mistakes. And there's been plenty
  2. What a sorry list that is Wahlsted was a disaster - how many points did he cost us? Telalovic was way out his depth. It makes you wonder what they see in training that makes them think they could make the grade in the Championship Ennis is odd - showed some promise at Plymouth and Argyle fans liked him and didn't want him to leave. But again he looked so poor in a Rovers shirt Hirst showed flashes and has scored a few goals for Ipswich. He might have been worth persevering with, probably better than Dale or Leonard All in all, a tale of failure and woe by the Rovers recruiting department
  3. It's a Nixon story........ file it under "kite flying", the ancient practice whereby sports journalist hackers churn out speculative stories in the hope that 1 in a 100 proves to be correct
  4. The LET article is a rehash of existing stories and says nothing new.
  5. Sorry, don't understand this. He never looked the part, he was cheap, and he looked it.
  6. Call it what you want but it amounts to the same
  7. John Eustace has decided he’s had enough at Ewood and will leave Rovers at the first opportunity. There are many reasons why he has become disenchanted with the club. The lack of signings this window is one frustration but it is a symptom of what he sees as the main problem, which is the complete lack of any communication with the owners and the resultant absence of decision making at the club. Not unreasonably he wants to know what are the owners plans for the future and their vision for the years ahead. His requests for information have met stonewalling from the Ewood hierarchy and his own attempts to contact the owners have not been successful. In short, he sees no future for the club as it stands and as an ambitious manager he does see a future for himself either. He wants to leave. He has applied for several jobs in recent weeks, including West Brom and Coventry, and he will be applying for any appealing vacancy at this level that arises. So he could be gone in weeks, or it might be months, but his days at the club are numbered. This information came from senior sources within the club.
  8. Forget about the playoffs, the league season is over. I’m more intrigued about the possibility of a cup run with struggling Wolves possibly resting their best players.
  9. So many weasel words in that statement…… close knit, togetherness, very limited January winter window. .. hard working and honest …… summed up in one word: bullshit! He must think supporters are stupid if he thinks we’ll be taken in by such a poor and, quite frankly, insulting statement And he gets paid north of £300,000 a year to come out with this crap. He’s 70, or thereabouts, and a multimillionaire who doesn’t even have the decency to live in the area. He should have gone long ago.
  10. It’s not going to happen. Some folk are clutching straws by saying we’re still promotion contention but they said the same in each of the last few seasons and look where we ended up. As it stands, without 3 or 4 good signings coming in, the league season is effectively over
  11. They were great days Den but I’d be happy to return to how the club was being run under Williams and Allardyce. We didn’t know how lucky we were and how fragile it all was. I look at the likes of Brentford (really?) and Bournemouth (!!!) in the Premier League and Burnley 🤢 and how well they are managed and our predicament is so frustrating
  12. Seriously, this is dire isn't it? The clock ticking and even the rumour mill isn't churning out any names. Another shot at promotion spurned, another year goes by. As a 60-year long-time supporter the feeling is no longer one of anger but one of sadness and resignation. We were thinking of going to the forthcoming QPR away game but probably won't now. It's all well, so depressing and pointless.
  13. Looks like a little boy lost in a man’s game. Like Duberry. He won’t be going anywhere though. Beggars can’t be choosers
  14. I missed tonight's game but I've seen enough this season to know the squad - even when fully fit - isn't strong enough or good enough to finish a gruelling 46-game season in the top 6. It doesn't matter that we played well in parts tonight - we lost, again, and it was entirely predictable beforehand that we would. Many folks on here saw it coming, especially after the no-show at Oxford, which I was unfortunate to witness.
  15. This isn't a top 6 side. It really isn't. It's in false position, and will sink slowly down the table
  16. Inevitable, can’t score then concede. Bogey team this lot
  17. Possibly, I expect the physicality and intensity of the English game has come as a huge shock to him. I wouldn’t raise your hopes though, at his age he’ll find it hard to adapt and I’m not sure he has the attributes to be a success.
  18. Is that Ohashi's Irish brother? 😁 I don't think it matters really. He's not much use
  19. Brereton to Sheff Utd confirmed.
  20. Rowett's made them into a very solid outfit. We seem to struggle against his teams and we were second best most of the 90. I'd take their No 8 and the left winger all day long.
  21. Depressing post This chap tends to have his ear close to the ground.
  22. Yep, we were unfortunate to be at the Ricoh and it was a horrible watch. They've been a hoodoo team for Rovers over the years and I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same scoreline
  23. The team were way off the pace and tired and second to nearly every ball at Oxford. It was a game we shouldn't have lost - but we did because we do not score enough goals and most of the time look totally impotent. The formation matters little and overall the squad just isn't good enough I'd be delighted but surprised if we get a draw out of this Rovers 0 Coventry 1
  24. Sorry yesterday was such a miserable experience. Rovers were shockingly poor.
  25. Brittain had trouble with their left winger (a very good player) in the first half but got a grip on him in the second half and made some good forays forward down the wing too. He's not slow - listen to fans who watch him every week.
