  1. To me, it says fans have given up and don't care any more. Reading fans showed they cared when they sat down on the pitch and halted the recent match against Port Vale. The publicity has given their campaign to remove their owners a huge boost It might get us a points deduction but we look like we could be going down anyway. At least football might understand our plight
  2. Why indeed. Americans love history and we are a historic club that goes back to the very birth of English football and the professional game. I'm not saying there'd be a queue to buy Rovers if / when Venky's depart but we have a good story to tell and would be an attractive target for someone.
  3. It's in the public domain that Ipswich are interested so it's fair enough to discuss it. You have to say Gallagher might have been a much better player with Warnock barking at him every day of the week
  4. Maggott penny pinching on club kit so his £300,000 plus salary plus bonuses is secure and safe. Of course he would
  5. Unless he quits (gives it up as a bad job with a trademark blast at his “superiors” on the way out) or another club comes in for him. At the moment though the Tomasson brand is badly damaged because of our terrible results so thats less likely to happen. Overall though I reckon we’re stuck with him
  6. Not one post in this thread after apparently one of the worst performances at Ewood in years. We are rock bottom of the table on points gained since December too. Is no one concerned?
  7. It was tongue in cheek and we had some poor periods under him But this present team is the far worse than any of his sides IMO and the manager doesn’t seem to know what to do. It’s going to be really touch and go whether we stay up
  8. There’s always an excuse for Tomasson. You’re one of the culprits
  9. Who’d have Tony Mowbray back? Birmingham away next month. Should be interesting
  10. Tomasson has given up IMO and is going through the motions until the season ends and he can go. I’m surprised he’s still here to be honest.
  11. Injuries blah blah blah the owners blah blah blah lack of money blah blah blah poor recruitment blah blah blah why does Tomasson keep getting a free ride?
  12. Blow your whistle ref let’s take the point and be thankful
  13. I’m not watching today but I don’t need to to know that
  14. Rovers fans should be excited .. it’s the 4th round of the FA Cup. A great chance to reach the 32 and possibly go farther. It’s a relief from the worry of a possible relegation battle. It’s football, and we want to win. Why wouldn’t any fan be excited?
  15. Nice work if you can get it. I bet he dines out on that back home
  16. People took more pride back then. There were always those who made a mess of the environment but not as many as now. The main difference is the litter is rarely cleaned up -the same litter has been hanging around our local roads for years. Council cutbacks partly to blame but what is the Highways Agency - which is paid more than £150m a year to keep the roadsides clean - doing?
  17. The whole country is a disgrace - everywhere you travel there is litter. The casual littering from motorists is probably worse than the fly-tipping with the roadsides inundated with filth I travelled on 100 miles of autobahn in Austria and Germany recently and I counted fewer than 10 pieces of litter in the whole journey. France isn't quite as good but still way better than here (Paris excepted). Heavens knows what they think when they come over here.
  18. Who was that elderly big Spanish lump we hired for about half a season - Yordi?? This Birmingham player sounds like him. Desperation comes to mind
  19. Gallagher would have been more use at West Brom as a centre half after Hyam's woeful performance. The question is why rarely wins headers in the box as a centre forward
  20. Waggott is in his mid to late 60s IIRC; he must have millions in the bank from his years in football In most jobs, he'd have retired by now but as you say, when you're on a cushy number.......
  21. Mass pitch invasion and sit-down protest during a match and bring it to a halt. Guaranteed headlines across the world's media. Even India Worth a try.
  22. Begs the questions of who are they and why do they think they can speak on behalf of all Rovers fans ManU fans have been protesting about the Glazers for many years - as have fans of the owners of other clubs - so why shouldn't Rovers fans protest about ours? Protests don't have to be confined to owners either. Failing managers should be targets too
  23. Pride. Sometimes called arrogance. Refusal to admit they got it wrong and make a big mistake. It’s a big thing among Indians, probably worse amongst its elite. We’ve gone from the pending file to the bottom of the drawer. They’ll probably get the file out every year or so to see if their problem child has improved, then tuck it away again for another day And so it goes on
  24. Sounds good. Have you spoken to the sports editors and / or news editors of local media asking why they haven't used your stuff? It could be it's not quite what they're looking for, or maybe in the wrong format, or maybe they would prefer to contact the Trust when needed for comments on breaking news stories. To that end the Trust needs to make itself the media's main contact point for the views of Rovers fans - this of course involves building relationships with individuals and time and effort by Trust members. An appointed Trust spokesman would also need to be comfortable talking to the media.
