  1. Playing with your back to goal and shielding the ball with a defender up your backside is a difficult skill and takes years to learn - Danny Graham was very good at it - and Brereton is getting better. The lad can play too outside the box, as he's shown in patches over the past 2 seasons. He needs to score more goals though, get on the end of crosses, be brave and stick his head and boot in to get the last touch in front of defenders, and be more cute in his movements inside the area. When he starts to do that we'll have a .very good forward worth the £7m we paid.
  2. The lad is 22, a full time professional footballer who has just been given a 4-year contract, not a 10 year old learning the game. Not having the goalkeeping basics at his age (which he doesn't) is like an outfield player not being to control the ball. From what I've seen he should not be anywhere near the first team.
  3. Dealing with crosses is as basic as catching the ball. It's one of the main functions of any good goalkeeper. An amateur keeper would be embarrassed at dealing with crosses the way Pears does. Any Championship manager watching that tonight would tell his team to pepper the Rovers box with crosses. He's a weak link and not good enough to be a No 2.
  4. Dealing with crosses is goalkeeping basics and irrelevant to the way any team plays
  5. Q. So why are "poor side" Boro in 5th and "poor side" Rovers in 15th? A: They're a much better side than us with a better manager
  6. A "poor side" in 5th place . So what does that make us?
  7. Old joke but Pears is like Dracula..... he doesn't like crosses. Seriously, Pears inspires no confidence whatsever.
  8. Boro were excellent 1st half when they should have scored but poor in the 2nd I wish we were awful and in the top 6
  9. Blimey Philp... I lost count of the number of cross he misjudged, missed or flapped at
  10. Yes I agree. It might help us avoid relegation
  11. Gallagher built like a brick wottsit but no idea how to use his body Another ball pears allowed to bounce across 6-yard box
  12. Williams off....probably been our best player
  13. Dangerous free kick from losing possession at a silly throw in
  14. Hands up who gets annoyed and depressed just at the sight of Mowbray ?
  15. Are Boro the home team ? They're so dominant it's embarrassing
  16. Boro are walking through our midfield as though it doesn't exist. Another big let-off !!!
  17. Neither do I. Just bog standard nothingness
  18. Warnock wouldn't have someone like Dolan in his team....far too small and weak. 0-0 half time. I'd settle for that after 90. Boro better in every respect
  19. Hangdog tony in the dugout...... what an inspiration
  20. What did you expect? We gave the job to Owen Coyle instead
  21. Gallagher's a our tallest player but he'd be only average height in the Boro team. Last gasp defending all the time... they go though our midfield like it's not there
