  1. Championship: Two strikers and midfield tough guy / playmaker. Possibly better left back Premier League: Virtually a total clearout bar one or two and a Forest-style spending spree
  2. Possibly. Thomas isn't great but he gives the team width and Gallagher obviously has his limitations but is a more conventional centre forward than Brereton. We certainly played with more freedom and looked more potent in attack yesterday than having to rely on long balls into the left hand corner for Brereton to chase.
  3. First goal was a header from a couple of yards. He was in the right place but then a decent centre forward should be. 2nd goal was laid on a plate by JRC Let's not get carried away. He had one of his better games but his all round general play was again not very good. He needs to score more regularly to make up for the deficiencies in the rest of the game.
  4. There were several horrendous away performances earlier in the season - some of the worst I’ve seen from a Rovers team. Tomasson deserved criticism for those and he’ll get it again when our fortunes take another dip which they inevitably will. Looking at the big picture though performances are improving lately and he got a lot of things right yesterday.
  5. Chair going off made a big difference. Up until QPR had been playing quite well but they had little to offer after that and we totally locked them out in the second half. Gallagher continues to frustrate despite his goals. He’s got all the physical attributes yet still gets knocked off the ball easily and doesn’t win as many headers as he should. You do wonder about his football brain sometimes. He had a break down the right in the second hall on his own and still crossed the ball despite their being no Rovers players in the penalty area. Why? Perhaps it’s a lack of confidence. Thomas had an indifferent game too and is still nowhere near the player who fired Huddersfield into the playoffs. Perhaps he needs time Overall though we put in a very decent shift and were so much better than previous away games we’ve attended this season. We looked like a team chasing promotion. The players have set the standard now and they need to keep up that level of performance for the rest of the season
  6. Yes and very enjoyable it was too QPR were poor but Rovers played well. Should have been more than 3 Rovers fans in good voice. Gareth Ainsworth reminded of where his heart really is 😀
  7. Gallagher what a good player Never doubted him
  8. Bad news - we weren't going but now we are Our record in 7 away games is 1 point from 21 Good news - with a bit of luck we can win this one
  9. On present form, they can't, Bairstow blow hot and cold though, and has persistent problems with his technique. This lad looks a much better player so far. As always, openers still open to question. Crawley players only one way - which is to attack. You can't do that all the time and any decent bowler will get him out.
  10. Brilliant recovery from a perilous position. I haven't seen alot of Brook but the lad's record since he came into Test cricket is outstanding and in the bits I've seen he looks the real deal as a Test batsman. Pity he's a Yorkie 😄
  11. The walking wicket that is Zak Crawley out already
  12. How are ticket sales going?
  13. Thanks, I didn't think so. I went in there a few times and I don't remember any. It was a lovely place
  14. Good news - our group was going to QPR but now we're not. We've seen us win just 1 point away from home this season Bad news - I don't think our staying away will make any difference. It's come a week too late and QPR will be lifted by the arrival of a new manager - a Blackburn lad who will be well and truly up for it QPR 1 Rovers 0 Hope I'm wrong
  15. Some great photos in there - a few I haven't seen before A young Mike Ferguson in the Accrington Stanley photo
  16. Young Fred threw me - didn't recognise him from the side Wasn't Bob Jones the reserve keeper an Aussie?
  17. Is it in the old wood-panelled boardroom?
  18. Dead or alive most newspapers use surnames only on second mention
  19. Good old Dickie. You had to feel sorry for him. He was the face of ITV Sport when the BBC had Wimbledon, the Open, Test cricket, top football and the Olympics all tied up and the best ITV often had to offer was go- kart racing and turbo charged dustbin championships. He did it with style though RIP
  20. I can name most of them. The devil incarnate centre stage with the pipe. A futture Scotland manager and well known businessman in there too
  21. Lovely old stories, sentiments and style of writing too. Wouldn’t you, me and a few others I suspect like to go back to the Blackburn of the 1960s?
  22. That's a good, gritty win. We're ekeing them out and despite the limited team and players at our disposal we are back in the play-off mix again The Ewood faithful should be happy with that Meanwhile Liverpool 2 Real Madrid 5 Anfield stakeholders are demanding their money back
  23. That's the first time I've seen Gallagher described as "unplayable"
