  1. So do I, obviously. But I would prefer them to get rid of the crap music.
  2. One thing I saw on twitter the other day is a comment criticising playing Sweet Caroline when we win, pretty much unanimous comments underneath in agreement.
  3. It certainly does fuck us up business wise. If you have perhaps less resources than some of your competitors, you have to trade smartly. We either let players go for free whilst rejecting offers that would make us profits or even if we do sell, we don't invest any of that money. Crazy.
  4. A theory that seems very farfetched to me personally but we can all be free to choose which rumours to believe and not believe. Nothing that Venkys have done has made sense from a promotion (to the Premier League) perspective over all of these years so I doubt that it was all on Mowbray with such a specific plan to get a new deal. We should have sold Rothwell, just like Brereton but they don't seem interested in making us a club like Brentford and Brighton that uses clever reinvestment of funds generated to continuously stay competitive.
  5. It is hard to base it on previous times in which poor recruitment has burnt us, that is based on the individuals rather than the type of player. I think the current crop of youngsters have been very inconsistent and we struggle to win the midfield battle, often winning games when it is essentially bypassed and we barely have the ball. I feel it will be a big struggle to maintain a promotion push with that crop of young midfielders. I would love a proven operator at this level, someone like Ben Pearson or Dan Barlaser but I suspect our owners would not support such a signing.
  6. It is indicative of how Venkys have run us that in such a strong position, they not only didn't provide a competitive budget but didn't even give the manager permission to trade to raise funds and strengthen the club that way. Could the signings have been used better? Yes, perhaps. Should we have taken a loanee from the Premier League to boost our strikeforce? Maybe. But are these the main issues? No.
  7. Yep, Mowbray said he wanted to sell Rothwell to bring in 2 players of his own. Makes no sense that he would want that if he had funds available anyway.
  8. Watching the last round of Championship highlights and the pitches elsewhere are far better than here. Even at Blackpool it is 100x better. Crazy the lengths some go to when defending our underfunded cabbage patch.
  9. It's crazy after so many years of negligence, how reluctant so many are to point fingers at our owners. We were 2nd with a small squad and riding the crest of a wave. We then signed a couple of youngish loanee full backs, a kid with 10 minutes of senior experience for half a million who subsequently got injured well in advance of the deadline, and then Hedges for a nominal fee. No denying that maybe those signings could have been used better, but that wasn't the main issue. People for some reason like to make out that there was a big warchest there that we declined to use, as if that was likely, because their cousins partners hairdresser had told them or whatever.
  10. Brighton like Brentford are run so well, the key is a consistent plan from the owners, consistent reinvestment of profits generates on the back of excellent recruitment. Not frequent penniless summers and allowing players to run their contracts down. Mc Allister, Caicedo, Mitoma, Trossard etc all fantastic additions paid for with a fraction of the sales of the likes of Cucurella, White and Bissouma. Also makes the idea of "preferring" Championship football to Premier League football even crazier. Run the club with efficiency and consistency from the top up and you can be competitive in the Premier League in the end. Not under these fuckers though.
  11. Yes, he clearly is a decent player at a professional level. League 1 level. Presumably he would more effective a division below.
  12. I guess its understandable. More likely to celebrate if we win or if we need a vent, we could come here!
  13. Not from what I have seen at Championship level, but he had a decent season in League 1 so yes, clearly.
  14. Why would a couple of games against kids to keep fitness up be worth more than a half decent season at League 1 level?
  15. To be fair, he like any "first teamer" might not be at full pelt playing for the kids, merely ticking over. Against Championship defenders has been the issue, woeful.
  16. And one of his preferred choices to be the next England manager! Him and Gerrard.
  17. When we do win, there is seldom any strong criticism really though over the entertainment value, even if it is commented on as a general point regarding the match.
  18. Why do our fans enjoy making the general fanbase out to be a torch bearing mob? I have not seen one person suggest that 3rd is not good enough. People can mention the entertainment value or lack of whilst acknowledging that results are the important thing. @Eddie have you been to Ewood this season and if so, does the negativity there match what you have said on here?
  19. As bad as he has been here and as far away from Championship standard as he is, he will get a League 1 move. Pompey would have him back.
  20. I would presume that surely a whole new recruitment team having time to get settled wouldnt resort in going back repeatedly to Maja and Dembele.
  21. Ive always felt that this idea of how "bad" a situation that Tomasson inherited was over the top. You have to be really bad to be at the bottom of this league such is the poor standard and Kaminski, Pickering, Ayala, Wharton, Buckley, Travis, Dolan, Brereton and Gallagher all featured heavily for us last season and we finished 8th. He also had a reasonable budget to add to that which was used with mixed success and the return of Dack and a settled Hedges. Not to deny of course that you cant really argue with 3rd.
  22. Yep, Lambert football was dull too. I think some have a better view of him than his actual results and football warranted because he did well with PR to make it look like he was making a stand. He then did the same for the 2 or 3 jobs that he had after that having struggled in them all.
  23. Even amidst their disinterest they did a better job of owning us than the twats who followed!
  24. Sunderland being linked with Surridge and Boro with Archer tonight. Meanwhile our current strike force reads Gallagher, Vale and Hirst.
  25. Entertainment is subjective, I personally have found very little entertainment in the way that we play under Tomasson, it is very slow, we don't create chances very often, there isn't much scope for flair and you are seldom on the edge of your seat. Purely aesthetically, I would say that the last manager to display such boring football disregarding effectiveness for a moment is Appleton. I am also of the opinion that if we win, I am totally satisfied and happy and the level of performance is irrelevant in comparison. I'd take as many boring 1 nil wins as possible please. But still the performance is worthy of discussion on a wider scale. It probably makes it even more boring that every time we concede first, it feels like game over straight away. Whereas aside from 2 slips ups in the last week, when we score we usually grind out a win.
