  1. I love how Tomasson has started to get some criticism now he is no longer our manager. Same happened with Mowbray and now Eustace can do no wrong.
  2. Yep, by the owners who decided they clearly wanted Wharton sold so we had no choice, and rejecting substantial Brereton bids when he had a year left.
  3. Not the narrative you ran with when he was here, similar to Tomasson, and more importantly, not relevant to the point I was making.
  4. No, thankfully. I wonder how many first team signings weve made who havent played a senior minute.
  5. In the final season, he wasnt backed at all. He had to sell Armstrong and that summer was all loans and Edun for a nominal fee. Then in January, he spent another nominal fee on Hedges, a couple of loans and Markanday for 500k who instantly tore his hamstring and missed the rest of the season. The death spirals are a result of us constantly having thin/young squads and never getting backed in January, regardless of manager.
  6. Especially when Koumetio is on the bench. His only contribution was a sub appearance in the cup where he seemed unfamiliar with a football.
  7. I dont see how anyone is pining their hopes on a Broughton interview where he merely said that he RECOMMENDS that we invest in the playing squad etc. He knows more than anyone that its probably unlikely, and even though his competence is at best highly dubious, hes a good speaker and it isnt hard to know that the normal thing to do is to reinvest some if we have even a shred of ambition. We did sell Wharton late in the window but dont swallow rubbish about it being too late. Simply because we had a McGuire buy lined up for a fraction of those funds and the owners refused to authorise it. So clearly no willingness to invest. Then there is Armstrong, even if you believe that every single penny had to go to FFP, thats another sale where we didnt reinvest. Then when we sold Rhodes, we got a few loans and didnt buy anyone. Then there is Gestede, Cairney, Hanley, Duffy, the list goes on. On the rare occasions where we have had a bit of money to spend, it hasnt ever been the direct proceeds of a sale. And its usually following a few seasons of frugality so it boosts us a bit but not from a position of strength. They spent 4 or 5 million when Tomasson came having been directly responsible for players leaving for free. They also gave Mowbray 10 million but that was on the back of a League 1 campaign that happened after years of budget cuts that led us there in the first place.
  8. There were plenty of teams between us too. Although the gap we had on Wednesday was considerable has now been wiped. Partly down to them picking up, partly down to us picking up less than a point a game since.
  9. Im not saying they will or can be. Just that holding any of the clueless employees they keep in situ on behalf of them is fairly pointless.
  10. We had a 7 point buffer when he came in.(I think)
  11. Thats what a functional, well run club would do. It will not happen here.
  12. Its Venkys who havent allowed any to be reinvested and need to be held to account.
  13. It will almost certainly have been Venkys who decided how much to sell him for. Like they did for other players, notably Brereton by setting an unrealistically high price tag with no flexibility and when no one got near it they chose to stupidly let him run his contract down instead.
  14. It is easier to slight those who wont boycott when in a different country.
  15. In Eustace's last 4 home games, we have 1 goal. And in the 3 prior we got 1 in each, so 4 in 7. Its a very shoddy record and it was little surprise that he had the lack of ambition or competence to oversee us scoring even against 10 men.
  16. I have answered, but like you say Hasta. I would have gone personally for Ayari for a CB, McFadzean off as we could then play further up. JRC out wide. Failing that, I know they arent the best options but Moran/Markanday for McFadzean. Not Telalovic.
  17. Plus if he does go the price is pretty irrelevant as it wont be used for the benefit of the club.
  18. Why did Eustace get a massive round of applause after getting sent off after being involved in something he didnt need to meaning that he forfeited being on the touchline as manager for the 1 and a half games that will determine our survival? I always find it strange when players get a round of applause too when sent off leaving us in the lurch.
  19. He is just doing what the owners want from him. They are the problem, he is just an ugly symptom.
  20. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/27584023/brentford-luton-championship-sammie-szmodics-blackburn-sheffield-united/ Every week, desperate for idiots willing to pay for this rubbish, another article linking Szmodics to every club under the sun whilst leaving open the possibility that he stays to cover all bases.
  21. Says a lot about the direction of the club and what has happened in the last 6 months that weve gone from 7th to being happy about other results because teams might try harder against teams in order to keep us up. Best player sold, captain loaned out, no funds from the owners and an ambitious manager quitting and replaced by one that seems out of his depth. Thanks Venkys.
  22. When JRC played under Tomasson it was clear he had instructions on how to play and he followed them and thrived. Eustace doesnt seem to have any plan on how to attack and JRC is new to the midfield position which he might prefer but he is not as good in at this moment. He looks like he has gone from a player who knows exactly what he needs to do to one who has no clear instruction from a clueless manager.
  23. Also in addition to absolutely no impact in our shoddy corners and free kicks. What are those pathetic long throws about? Our full backs clearly cant throw it far but lets do it anyway.
  24. I dont have a problem with the style because of how it looks either, its all about results. But its just not effective, if we was nicking games and it was a tough watch but we were winning then fine. Its not really long ball playing off a striker, Gallagher wouldnt be suited to that but when we launch it, it is often aimless, so often especially against 11 men when we got the ball we just kicked it aimlessly in the air and not to any particular individual. And it isnt counter attacking either, when we win the ball we are so slow and often unclear on what to do next so the attack grinds to a halt. Set pieces havent improved despite them being an area we had been terrible on, they are just as bad. Today was a bit of an anomoly in the Eustace era in terms of quantity of shots but not that many were great chances, a lot of our shots were from distance and only really Szmodics had that one from a rebound in the first half that youd consider guilt edged.
  25. Tells you alot when you can try and skew the numbers to defend him by adding on a game he wasnt in charge of and dismissing the cup exit and you still only get to 3 wins in 16. Its not rocket science, against a 10 men with no interest in attacking, you can lose one of the 3 centre backs for a more attacking player. At the end of the day, he hasnt had the easiest of hands but has anyone really seen much to suggest that he can take us forward? His record of wins and points is horrendous and he has massively eaten into the healthy buffer above relegation.
